대공간 연성 구조시스템의 종류와 발달과정 (The Type and Development for Structure System with Non-rigid Member)

  • The structure systems with non-rigid member were classified by the composition type of line and surface members. As a result of the classification, there are 1-way cable structure, cable net and radial cable net structure in the line member system. And there are pneumatic structure and suspension membrane structure in surface member system. In addition, when the line and surface members are composed together, there is the hybrid membrane system which are divided into hanging type and supported type. In this paper, the Korean terms of structure systems with non-rigid member are recommended through this classification. In each the structure systems with non-rigid member, the examples were also investigated considering their historical developments. It present that the light weight structure system and the openness of space have pursued with the developments. So largely, cable net structure with membrane, membrane structure and hybrid structure have used in these days.

  • Cable net system openness and flexibility is good high and the large deflection caused no damage to the structure itself. However, cable installation, install complex systems and technologies are needed. In this study, for the basic materials of cable net construction management, cable net expert's advice and mock-up test results are summarized.

  • 연성 구조시스템은 연성재를 주 구조부재로 하여 전체 구조체계가 하중의 변화에 따라 형태가 변화할 수 있는 구조시스템이다. 이 시스템들을 힘의 전달방식을 달리하는 구조의 구성방식에 따라 분류하고, 구성방식을 파악하기 용이한 연성구조시스템의 용어를 채택하였다. 따라서 연성구조시스템은 연성선재와 연성면재의 구성에 따라 분류되었는데, 연성선재구조물에 일방향케이블구조, 격자형 케이블구조, 방사형 케이블구조, 연성면재의 구조물에 공기막구조 현수막구조, 선재와 면재의 하이브리드 구조물에 달림형하이브리드 막구조, 들림형 하이브리드 막구조로 분류체계와 용어를 결정하였다.

A general method for active surface adjustment of cable net structures with smart actuators

  • Active surface adjustment of cable net structures is becoming significant when large-size cable net structures are widely applied in various fields, especially in satellite antennas. A general-duty adjustment method based on active cables is proposed to achieve active surface adjustment or surface profile reconfiguration of cable net structures. Piezoelectric actuators and voice coil actuators are selected for constructing active cable structures and their simplified mechanical models are proposed. A bilevel optimization model of active surface adjustment is proposed based on the nonlinear static model established by the direct stiffness method. A pattern search algorithm combined with the trust region method is developed to solve this optimization problem. Numerical examples of a parabolic cable net reflector are analyzed and different distribution types of active cables are compared.

  • 구조시스템은 역사적으로 발달해온 기술적 배경에 따라 건축에 사용되었고, 구조의 역할도 변화되어 왔다. 그러므로 다양한 구법으로 이루어지는 연성구조시스템의 건립사례와 시기에 따라 건립된 규모를 조사함으로써 여러 연성구조형식의 a성을 고찰하고 연성구조의 전개방향을 모색하였다. 그 결과, 연성구조시스템은 초기에 여러 케이블구조로 발달하기 시작하였으나 1970년대 이후부터는 막구조가 주로 사용되고 있는 것으로 나타났다 또한 초기의 케이블 구조시스템들은 대공간 건축에 주로 사용되었으나, 1970년 이후에는 중소규모의 건축물에 사용되는 경향이 있으며, 격자형 케이블구조나 공기막구조 그리고 돔 형식의 들림형 하이브리드 막구조가 대형공간으로 발달하는 경향을 보이는 것으로 나타났다.

Mesh topological form design and geometrical configuration generation for cable-network antenna reflector structures

  • A well-designed mesh shape of the cable net is of essential significance to achieve high performance of cable-network antenna reflectors. This paper is concerned with the mesh design problem for such antenna reflector structure. Two new methods for creating the topological forms of the cable net are first presented. Among those, the cyclosymmetry method is useful to generate different polygon-faceted meshes, while the topological mapping method is suitable for acquiring triangle-faceted meshes with different mesh grid densities. Then, the desired spatial paraboloidal mesh geometrical configuration in the state of static equilibrium is formed by applying a simple mesh generation approach based on the force density method. The main contribution of this study is that a general technical guide for how to create the connectivities between the nodes and members in the cable net is provided from the topological point of view. With the new idea presented in this paper, multitudes of mesh configurations with different net patterns can be sought by a certain rule rather than by empiricism, which consequently gives a valuable technical reference for the mesh design of this type of cable-network structures in the engineering.

동적감쇠를 고려한 탄성 현수선 케이블의 비선형 해석에 관한 연구 (A study on the non-linear analysis of the elastic catenary cable considering kinetic damping)

  • In this paper, a non-linear finite element formulation for the spatial cable-net structures is simulated and using this formulation, the characteristics of structural behaviors for the elastic catenary cable are examined In the simulating procedure for the elastic catenary cable, nodal forces and tangential stiffness matrices are derived using catenary parameters of the exact solutions by a governing differential equation of catenary cable, cable self-weights and unstressed cable length. Dynamic Relaxation Method that considers kinetic damping is used for the structure analysis and Newton Raphson Method is used to verify the accuracy of solutions. In the analysis of two dimensional cable, the results obtain from the elastic catenary elements are shown more accurate than does of truss elements and in the case of spatial cable-net structures, Dynamic Relaxation Method is more stable to be converged than Newton Raphson Method.

Optimal design of spoke double-layer cable-net structures based on an energy principle

  • An optimal design method for a spoke double-layer cable-net structure (SDLC) is proposed in this study. Simplified calculation models of the SDLC are put forward to reveal the static responses under vertical loads and wind loads. Next, based on an energy principle, the relationship among the initial prestress level, cross-sectional areas of the components, rise height, sag height, overall displacement, and relative deformation is proposed. Moreover, a calculation model of the Foshan Center SDLC is built and optimized. Given the limited loading cases, material properties of the components, and variation ranges of the rise height and sag height, the self-weight and initial prestress level of the entire structure can be obtained. Because the self-weight of the cables decreases with increasing of the rise height and sag height, while the self-weight of the inner strut increases, the total weight of the entire structure successively exhibits a sharp reduction, a gradual decrease, a slow increase, and a sharp increase during the optimization process. For the simplified model, the optimal design corresponds to the combination of rise height and sag height that results in an appropriate prestress level of the entire structure with the minimum total weight.

  • 본 논문에서는 기하학적 특성을 고려한 케이블 네트 형상설계 방법론을 제시하고, 트러스 링 그리고 케이블 네트의 구조 유연도를 고려한 반사판 안테나의 케이블 네트워크 형상 실효성을 검증한다. 기하학적 비선형성을 고려한 케이블 네트의 유한요소 모델을 개발한다. 경계조건의 하중에 따른 형상변형 해석을 통하여, 케이블 네트의 형상 설계변수 특성을 제시 한다. 프레임 요소를 이용하여 전개형 트러스 링 구조를 모델링하고 정적 하중 해석을 수행한다. 전개된 링 구조에 가해지는 장력에 의해 케이블 네트 반사판은 정확한 형상을 유지하게 된다. 가해지는 장력, 케이블 네트 그리고 트러스 링 구조의 유연도를 고려하여, 케이블 네트워크 형상설계에 반영하고 최종 형상을 제시한다.

  • As part of the conceptual disign of cable and membrane structures, the adequate shape is decisive with respect to load bearing behaviour and aesthetic expression of the structure. The force densities which are the force-length ratio are very useful parameters for the description of equilibrium state of any general cable-net structures. Because equilibrium states are obtained by solving linear equations the force desity method has a advantage compared with other solution strategies. But if there are futher restrainted conditions in force density the linear method will be extended to nonlinear one. The numeriacl methods are based upon least square and general inverse method for sieving nonlinear eqations. In this paper, the results from two methods is compared through several examples.
