발전소용 고압 바이패스 밸브 내부 유동해석 (Analysis of Flow through High Pressure Bypass Valve in Power Plant)

  • In the present work, flow analysis has been performed in the steam turbine bypass control valve (single-path type) for two different cases i.e., case with steam only and case with both steam and water. The numerical analysis is performed by solving three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations. The shear stress transport (SST) model and $k-{\varepsilon}$ model are used to each different case as turbulence closure. Symmetry condition is applied at the mid plane of the valve while adiabatic condition is used at the outer wall of the cage. Grid independency test is performed to find the optimal number of grid points. The pressure and temperature distributions on the outer wall of the cage are analyzed. The mass flow rate at maximum plug opening condition is compared with the designed mass flow rate. The numerical analysis of multiphase mixing flow(liquid and vapor) is also performed to inspect liquid-vapor volume fraction of bypass valve. The result of volume fraction is useful to estimate both the safety and confidence of valve design.

A Study on High Precision Temperature Control of an Oil Cooler for Machine Tools Using Hot-gas Bypass Method

  • This study aims at precise control of oil outlet temperature in the oil cooler system of machine tools for enhancement of working speed and processing accuracy. PID control logic is adopted to obtain desired oil outlet temperature of the oil cooler system with hot-gas bypass method. We showed that the gains of PID controller could be easily determined by using gain tuning methods to get the gain of PID controller without any mathematical model. We also investigated various gain tuning methods to design the gains of PID and compared each control performance for selecting the optimal tuning method on the hot gas bypass method through experiments. Moreover, we confirmed excellent control performance with proposed PI controller gain even though disturbances were abruptly added to the experimental system.

  • The serpentine flow channel is widely used in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) to prevent flooding phenomena because it effectively removes liquid water in the flow channel. The pressure drop between inlet and outlet increases as compared with straight channels due to minor losses associated with the corners of the turning configurations. This results in a strong pressure gradient between adjacent channels in specific regions, where some amount of reactant gas can be delivered to catalyst layers by convection through a gas diffusion layer (GDL). The enhancement of the convective flow in the GDL, so-called bypass flow, affects fuel cell performance since the bypass flow influences the reactant transport and thus its concentration over the active area. In the present paper, for the bipolar plate design, a simple analytic model has been proposed to predict the bypass flow in the serpentine type flow channels and validated with three-dimensional numerical simulation results.

관상동맥 우회로 관의 문합각도의 변화가 유동과 벽 전단력에 미치는 영향 (Influence of the Anastomosis Angle Variation on Flow Features and Wall Shear Stress of an Artery)

  • It is known that the non-planar model of bypass is more profitable to suppress the development of intimal hyperplasia that tends to occur preferentially in regions of low time averaged shear stress and rapid temporal changes in wall shear stress. In this study it was numerically simulated the blood flow in an coronary artery grafted by artificial bypass to determine the flow characteristic variations due to the anastomosis angle changing. 5 different non-planar anastomosis angle models such as 45°, 60°, 90°, 120° and 135° were considered. When the anastomosis angle is higher, the backward flow region is spatially extended near the downstream region of the anastomosis because of the development of horseshoes vortex. For the case of the nan-planar 45° and 60° of anastomosis, the area of low-OSI zone was decreased by 26% and 13% respectively and the time averaged wall shear stress was increased by more than 55% as compared with 45° of planar model. However, both of the area of the low-OSI zone and the time averaged wall shear stress of 90°, 120° model were significantly increased.

  • 엔진 제작사의 엔진 시뮬레이션 상세한 정보는 일반적으로 공개되지 않으며 운용자는 엔진제어를 위해 단지 몇몇 파라미터만을 사용할 수 있다. 따라서, 엔진 성능모델을 생성하기 위해서는 제한된 가용 자료를 기초로 할 수 밖에 없다. 본 논문에서는 초음속 항공기용 저바이패스 터보팬엔진 성능 모델링에 관해 기술하였다. 대상 엔진은 Pratt and Whitney F100-PW-229 터보팬 엔진을 적용하였다. F100-PW-229 터보팬 엔진성능 모델을 구축하기 위하여 일반적인 공개된 자료와 문헌 정보를 기초로 하여 설계변수들에 대한 민감도 해석 및 Adaptive Random Search method를 이용한 파라미터 최적화 과정을 통하여 미지의 구성품 특성값들을 예측 적용하였다. 엔진덱 데이터와 구축된 엔진성능 모델의 해석 결과 비교를 통하여 엔진성능 모델이 적합하게 구성되었음을 확인하였다.

우회 빈의 병렬처리가 가능한 HEVC CABAC 부호화기의 설계 (Design of HEVC CABAC Encoder With Parallel Processing of Bypass Bins)

  • HEVC CABAC에서는 하나의 빈을 부호화한 후 확률 모델을 업데이트하고, 업데이트된 확률 모델로 다음 빈을 부호화한다. 기존 CABAC 부호화기는 매 사이클마다 1개의 빈밖에는 부호화하지 못하여 처리율을 향상시킬 수 없었다. 본 논문에서는 확률 모델의 업데이트가 필요없는 우회 빈을 병렬처리 함으로서 처리율을 높인 HEVC CABAC 부호화기를 제안한다. 설계된 CABAC 부호화기는 매 사이클마다 1개의 정규 빈을 처리하거나 최대 4개의 우회 빈을 처리할 수 있으며, 평균적으로 매 사이클당 1.15~1.92개의 빈을 처리한다. 0.18 um 공정에서 합성한 결과, 게이트 수는 메모리를 포함하여 78,698 게이트, 최대 동작 속도는 136 MHz, 최대 처리율은 261 Mbin/s이다.

양태아를 이용한 심폐우회술에서의 태반혈류개선을 통한 태아심장수술의 기반기술 확립 (Establishment of Featal Heart Surgery with an Improvement of the Placental Blood Flow in Cardiopulmonary Bypass Using Fetal Lamb Model)

  • 배경: 태아심장수술이 가능하려면 심폐우회술 시 태반혈류의 유지가 가장 중요하다. 태반 혈관의 수축으로 인한 혈류 감소는 태아에 심한 저산소성 손상을 초래한다. 본 연구에서는 태반혈관 수축 억제를 위한 인도메타신과 완전 척추 마취가 태반 혈류에 미치는 영향을 테스트하였다. 대상 및 방법: 제태기간 120∼150일 되는 20마리의 태아양을 정중흉골절개하에 주폐동맥과 우심방에 각각 12 G, 14∼18 F 크기의 도관을 삽관하여 30분 동안 심폐우회술을 시행하였다 어미양은 케타민 정주를 이용한 전신마취를 시행하였고 태아양에 대하여는 근육이완제만을 사용하였다. 심페우회술은 바이오펌프(Bio-pump, Bio-Medicus 회사제, 미국)와 태반을 산화기로 이용하여 시행하였다. 대조군은 태반을 산화기로 사용하여 체외순환만을 시행하였고(10마리), 실험군은 완전 척추 마취와 인도메타신을 전처치한 후 같은 방법으로 체외순환을 시행하였다 시간 경과에 따른 태아혈역학 및 동맥혈가스소견, 태반혈류 변화를 측정하였다. 결과: 태아양의 평균체중은 3.5 $\pm$ 1.3 (2.2 ∼ 5.2) kg이었다. 대조군에서는 심폐우회 시작 직후 평균 44.7 mmHg에서 14.4 mmHg로 급격한 혈압 강하가 관찰되었고 이때 측정한 혈류는 74.3∼97.0 $m\ell$/kg/min 였다. 동맥혈 가스 소견 역시 동맥혈 이산화탄소분압치가 61.9∼129.6 mmHg이었으며 체외순환 정지 후에는 심실세동으로 혈역학 측정이 불가능하였다. 실험군에서는 심폐우회 시작 직후 혈압이 30∼45.8 mmHg로 의미있게 높게 유지되었다. 태반 혈류는 78.8∼120.2 $m\ell$/kg/min로 대조군보다 높았다. 같은 시간대에 측정한 동맥혈 이산화탄소 분압치는 평균 59.1∼92.3 mmHg였으며 체외순환 정지 후에는 대조군보다 덜 급격하게 심기능 저하를 보여 평균동맥압이 27.3 mmHg였다. 결론: 연구자 등은 본 연구를 통하여, 30분간 심폐우회술을 실시하면서 인도메타신 전처치와 완전 척추 마취군에서 의미있는 태반혈류개선을 관찰하였으나 임상적용이 가능한 태반혈류의 유지에는 어려움을 겪었다. 향후 태아심폐우회술과 관련된 기술적인 측면에서의 개선, 인도메타신 용량의 조절, 순환회로의 최소화, 체외순환을 위한 우회펌프의 개선 등 태아 체외순환의 수정에 관한 지속적인 연구가 요구된다.

관상동맥우회로술 환자의 위험도에 따른 수술량과 병원내 사망의 관련성 (Does a Higher Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery Volume Always have a Low In-hospital Mortality Rate in Korea?)

  • Objectives: To propose a risk-adjustment model with using insurance claims data and to analyze whether or not the outcomes of non-emergent and isolated coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) differed between the low- and high-volume hospitals for the patients who are at different levels of surgical risk. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study that used the 2002 data of the national health insurance claims. The study data set included the patient level data as well as all the ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes that were recorded in the claims. The patient's biological, admission and comorbidity information were used in the risk-adjustment model. The risk factors were adjusted with the logistic regression model. The subjects were classified into five groups based on the predicted surgical risk: minimal (<0.5%), low (0.5% to 2%), moderate (2% to 5%), high (5% to 20%), and severe (=20%). The differences between the low- and high-volume hospitals were assessed in each of the five risk groups. Results: The final risk-adjustment model consisted of ten risk factors and these factors were found to have statistically significant effects on patient mortality. The C-statistic (0.83) and Hosmer-Lemeshow test ($x^2=6.92$, p=0.55) showed that the model's performance was good. A total of 30 low-volume hospitals (971 patients) and 4 high-volume hospitals (1,087 patients) were identified. Significant differences for the in-hospital mortality were found between the low- and high-volume hospitals for the high (21.6% vs. 7.2%, p=0.00) and severe (44.4% vs. 11.8%, p=0.00) risk patient groups. Conclusions: Good model performance showed that insurance claims data can be used for comparing hospital mortality after adjusting for the patients' risk. Negative correlation was existed between surgery volume and in-hospital mortality. However, only patients in high and severe risk groups had such a relationship.

고무보 저층수 배출관의 유사 배제 성능 실험 연구 (Experimental Study for Flushing of Sediment Bypass Pipe underneath Rubber Weir)

  • Most small weir installed in Korea is concrete solidated weir. Fixed weir causes stagnant flow, which leads to deposit sediment just upstream of weir. As time goes on, it would induce reduction of water storage capacity and invoke the serious water quality issues. Therefore, there has been a growing interest in movable weir. Especially, the flexible rubber weir is easy to install and possible to operate in extreme environments. However, even though this type can be flatable, it is also not free from sediment deposition problem. Thus, to enhance the ability of releasing deposition the bypass pipe was constructed underneath it. In this study the performance of its ability was examined with hydraulic model test. This bypass pipe was designed with 3 different dimensions to connect between each bottom of upstream and downstream of a weir, such as Type A, B, and C. The efficiency of drainage of deposition upstream was studied under two water of upstream and sediment heights. In addition, the ability of sediment emission through the bypass pipe after the pipe was blocked by debris like soil, vegetation et al. was examined by video monitoring. From this study, it was suggested a dimensionless equation which show the relationship of variable parameters and amount of emission sediment through bypass pipe. And it was found that the most significant factors on efficiency of releasing were elbow angle and discharge, and the ability of emission when the pipe was blocked was most highly influenced in tilting length.
