  • The era of globalization provides us with both opportunities and threats. The success of a multinational corporation depends largely on its ability to adapt itself to new market environment. We believe that understanding and implementing multicultural PR strategy can be a key to the multinational corporations' success in foreign markets. We argue in this paper that even a global iconic company such as Google needs to focus on how to understand local consumers' needs and preferences before formulating and implementing PR strategy. Having a global hit product or service is not sufficient enough to be successful in some foreign markets. It is especially more evident in the industries where companies deal with individual consumers, and perceptions and sentiments play a large role in their purchase decisions. The objective of this research is to find out the relationship between multicultural PR strategy and business performance. Therefore, our main hypothesis is; better implementation of multicultural PR strategy by a multinational corporation will result in higher performance in the foreign markets. To prove the relationship between multicultural PR strategy and performance, we designed a framework that uses Rudan's (2004) five rules for multicultural PR strategy. It is a contribution to the business academics as there are very few studies that directly focus on and analyze the multicultural aspects of a multinational company's PR strategy. Through our research, we found strong evidence that there is a positive relationship between the level and effectiveness of a company's multicultural PR strategy and its performance in the foreign markets. This offers some meaningful implications to the managers of the multinational corporations and those who are considering going into a foreign market for the first time. We also suggested a way of measuring the implementation of multicultural PR strategy. By applying five rules for multicultural PR strategy to Google's PR activities, it allowed us to convert qualitative information into quantitative data. This kind of tool can be helpful for multinational corporations that want to evaluate their own PR activities.

Although there are many important discussions related to the product development of business venture, a more discussion on the relationship between product development strategy implementation and performance of product development is needed. The purpose of current study is to examine the relationship between the entrepreneurial orientation and the R&D department on product development performance. To confirm the model of Day & Wensley(1988) that product novelty mediates the relationship between product development strategy and product development performance. • The wide use of Information Technology(IT), especially the rapid diffusion of the internet, brings us a new paradigm, called "Electronic Commerce", or "Digital Economy." The paradigm is regarded as a business strategy essential to organization's competitive advantage. Because very few studies have been performed in the area of e-strategy, especially in the combined strategy of clicks and mortars, a research on this area is needed. The main questions of this study are empirically to validate the usefulness and the applicability of a decision roadmap and to analyze the situation of Korean firms based on the decision roadmap. Major results of this study are as follows; First, there is an evidence that the roadmap can be applied to firms regardless of its industry and size. Second, usefulness of the roadmap is proved since companies that followed the prescription of the decision roadmap showed high degree of satisfaction with online sales amount. Third, Korean firms in general do not achieve the ideal degree of integration (or separation), especially in terms of management and operation. In conclusion, this study provides e-business strategy planners some guidelines about how to achieve right mix of on-line and off-line business.

  • The research is concerned with digitalization process and strategy of 'traditional industries'. Along with development of the Internet, new industries are emerging, while traditional industries are also rapidly shifting from old modes to new ones. Most traditional industries uy to enhance their adaptability for changing environment. The investigators argue the strategic intent of traditional industries can be categorized into the four different types. The typology consists of two axis. On the one hand, the directions of digitalization are rationalization and development of new business. On the other hand, the objects of digitalization are product and process. According to the typology, the research suggests neologism for the four strategies; product innovation strategy. new business strategy. rationalization strategy and process innovation strategy.

  • This study examines the drivers and implementation of intrapreneurship strategy in a property service company. Using a qualitative case study approach, the study interviewed four managers involved in related intrapreneurship initiatives. The data was validated by an expert and a practitioner from a different company. The implementation of the company's intrapreneurship strategy is limited to improving new ways of working and developing products and services. However, business development and the creation of new business models are still limited. From several intrapreneurship driving factors, it was observed that the company practices are considered adequate with regard to top management support, leadership, flexibility in carrying out work, as well as in fairly harmonious arrangements for ongoing business relationships with the intrapreneurship projects. On the other hand, human resources with entrepreneurial behavior are still minimal. Similarly, the driving factors in reward and training that promote entrepreneurial behavior are also considered to be insufficient. The application of intrapreneurship as a strategy requires understanding and commitment from all parties in the organization. This study provides insight into the Indonesian context and proposes that intrapreneurship initiatives are less likely to succeed if they are not supported by developing a more systematic entrepreneurial mindset, behavior, and culture.

  • An economic downturn can occurred through unexpected events in various fields, such as the subprime mortgage crisis and the outbreak of Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19). Trade credit is important for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), especially during a monetary contraction, as it is the last option for firms that lack bank credit. This study aims to determine whether trade credit is profitable for the buyer and supplier firms during and after a financial crisis. We use panel data consisting of all trade credit transactions and financial statements of 5,751 Korean firms during the period 2008-2012. It shows that trade credit is more profitable for both buyers and suppliers in the post-crisis period than during the crisis. Moreover, trade payable is more effective for unconstrained buyers than for constrained buyers. Finally, a mixed strategy is superior to an aggressive or passive strategy of SMEs. The results suggest less profitability of trade credit during a period of contraction and greater sensitivity of the buyer SMEs, emphasizing the idiosyncratic liquidity strategy of each firm. This study can be helpful to develop a strategy of profitable trade credit for SMEs and to establish a policy of managing liquidity for the authority.
