  • The performance of a teacher has an important role in the success of education in general. This study aims to determine the factors that affect the decline in teacher performance in one of the junior secondary schools in Indonesia. Based on the literature review, four exogenous variables were identified, namely, training, utilization of information technology, intellectual intelligence, and emotional intelligence. This study uses primary data, collected from a questionnaire distributed to respondents. The questionnaire items are measured using a Likert scale. The sample in this study were all teachers at MTS Darul Falah Sirahan, totaling 32 people. The analysis technique used in testing the hypothesis of this study is multiple regression analysis. Statistical product and service solutions are used as analysis tools. The results of this study indicate that only the variable 'utilization of information technology' has a positive and significant effect. However, the variables 'training,' 'intellectual intelligence,' and 'emotional intelligence' did not have a significant effect. This finding contradicts the literature in general. Therefore, this study recommends improving training methods, both those carried out internally by schools and by related agencies, and schools still need to optimize guidance and potential for teacher's intelligence in improving performance.

  • This study is conducted in grades 4, 5, and6 of Elementary schools located in Seoul. The results would be recognized by the Consumer Behavior Survey and the Use of Beauty. Students in the higher grades of elementary schools are exposed to beauty products for the first time. This is a crucial age, where they start becoming interested in their appearance. This behavior is being exploited to increase the desire to use beauty products. Although the initial use is self-motivated, choosing a quality product is highly influenced by peers, reasonable pricing, and internet impact. The higher the grade of the elementary school, we observed an increase in this trust and impulsiveness in the consumer behavior. More than 2 million students spent considerable amounts of money, and showed trends of consumer behavior of the impulsive type. The results of this study can provide a significant base to further study trends of beauty usage in higher grades of elementary schools, and give an indication of the consumer behavior based on the beauty culture and use of health products.

  • Purpose - This pilot study explores the gap between venture capitalists and young business graduates in Pakistan. Though the young graduates remain enthusiastic about choosing entrepreneurship as a profession, their success is subject to financial constraints. Research design, data, methodology - We administered a Likert-scale based questionnaire to 200 business graduates from June to July 2012, and interviewed ten venture capitalists from Islamabad and Lahore-two highly business oriented cities of Pakistan-to collect the data. The survey participation was on a voluntary basis without any financial sponsorship. Findings- There is a communication gap between the two parties (venture capitalists and business graduates), and a lack of trust in the entrepreneurial education and training offered in the educational institutions in Pakistan. The study, however, reveals the leading role of the Government in reducing this gap through certain measures. Conclusions - Some measures that can reduce the gap between venture capitalists and young graduates are: association of business schools with industry; financial institutions'initiatives to financially support the small and medium level projects of the economics and business students during their studies; establishment of placement bureaus in the business schools; and organization of regular open houses in the universities.
