  • In the community of software engineering, diverse modeling languages are used for representing all relevant information in the form of models. Also many different models such as business model, business process model, product models, interface models etc. are generated through software life cycles. In this situation, models need to be integrated for enterprise integration and enhancement of software productivity. Researchers propose rebuilding models by a specific modeling language, using a intemediate modeling language and using common reference for model integration. However, in the current approach it requires a lot of cost and time to integrate models. Also it is difficult to identify common objects from several models and to update objects in the repository of common model objects. This paper proposes software model integration using metadata model based on Linked data. We verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach through a case study.

  • Those of the growth of e-business, the development of the cultural creative industry, the contents and knowledge industry have expanded and diversified the existing business models and created new ones. They are triggering new interpretations and discussions on business models. Such of changing business environment has paved the way for the expansion of design management within the design industry and opened new windows of opportunity for the traditionally small and non-specialized design business. Until now, the design business has not been distinguished from design industry or design service, and has not been viewed as an independent field. Rather, the design business has merely been part of a process. As such, the lack of dear definition and structured system had been a bottleneck for many design companies trying to achieve capital and social success and establish the foundation for growth and for companies striving to advance the design management in developing design business models or growth strategy in line with the changing environment. Against these sort of backdrops, this paper attempts to dearly define the design business. To this end, the paper tries to developed a design business model framework which classifies design business model into four types - customized, ready-made, provider and contract - according to the business activities between the producer and the end user, and business items into product, additional sonics, knowledge and promotion. The framework will expand the definition of design business and contribute to the expansion of design business activities and the development of diverse business models.

  • Over the past few years, "business models" has surged into the management vocabulary. But, while it has become quite fashionable to discuss business models, there has been still much confusion about what are business models and how they could make. In fact, business models can serve a positive and powerful role in corporate management. While other authors have recently offered definitions of "business model", none of them appears to be generally accepted. This paper presents the absence of the generally definition of the business models, elements of business model and classify business logic. To help start-up entrepreneurs better understand, found and check business models thus, this paper propose a method of business model, understanding, founding and checking. The dissertation will present an effective business model building method which is necessary for the start-up entrepreneurs to start business. This paper consists of three parts. first is showing the previous study of business model. The second is the re-definition business model and elements based on the first and to present a new method of business model plating and checking for start-up IT (information technology) company's entrepreneurs. The last is application of the methode. This study applied the methode to a company which is located in "DAEDEOK INNOPOLIS"; this company has specialized Information technology.

  • As eTransformation and collaborative eCommerce have been on the rise, business processes between business partners are increasingly recognized as important assets that need to be integrated. These trends imply more complex and dynamic business processes should be considered in order to integrate related business organizations and business units. Moreover, these business processes are widely distributed across stakeholders. Therefore, there is a need for business process modeling that is usable, flexible and capable of integrating systems consistently across businesses and technology barriers. In this paper, a business process modeling methodology is introduced, which is based on top­do\W and model-driven approach utilizing OMG's MDA(Model-Driven Architecture) and UML profile for EDOC(Enterprise Distributed Object Computing). This provides the ability to model business process at all levels simultaneously, to combine business process models retaining their meaning, to use business process design patterns constraining the behavior of sub-processes, and to derive specific codes from a stable model as the underlying infrastructure shifts over time. In addition, we suggest some modifications of the meta-model for EDOC-Business Process Profile by adding new features in order to model business processes rigidly. This paper illustrates some examples of business process modeling and compares them with UML diagrams and IDEF models. The proposed methodology is implemented to develop a business process modeling tool.

A Development of u-City Construction Model Considering the Reducing of Operating Cost (운영비 절감을 고려한 u-City 구축 모델 개발)

  • The first full-scale u-City operation has started in Dongtan u-City. As local cities take over and operate the u-City, unexpected issues arise such as securing the budget of operating costs and self-providing the costs with business models utilizing the u-City assets. The paper presents a strategy for solving these issues. The strategy provides a foundation(infrastructure) for long-term operation models which may reduce the long-term operating costs. In order to establish the economic operating framework of u-City, suggested are some cost-reduction models based on the operating costs structure. For each model, a base framework with comparative analysis of operating costs is provided. With these models, each u-City may select a relevant model according to the characteristics of it. We hope that the framework provides the foundation for efficient and sustainable u-City operations.

Purchase Prediction by Analyzing Users' Online Behaviors Using Machine Learning and Information Theory Approaches

  • The availability of detailed data on customers' online behaviors and advances in big data analysis techniques enable us to predict consumer behaviors. In the past, researchers have built purchase prediction models by analyzing clickstream data; however, these clickstream-based prediction models have had several limitations. In this study, we propose a new method for purchase prediction that combines information theory with machine learning techniques. Clickstreams from 5,000 panel members and data on their purchases of electronics, fashion, and cosmetics products were analyzed. Clickstreams were summarized using the 'entropy' concept from information theory, while 'random forests' method was applied to build prediction models. The results show that prediction accuracy of this new method ranges from 0.56 to 0.83, which is a significant improvement over values for clickstream-based prediction models presented in the past. The results indicate further that consumers' information search behaviors differ significantly across product categories.

  • The existing reliability evaluation models which have already developed by the corporations are so various because of using Maximum Likelihood Method. The existing models are very complicated owing to using system designing methods. Therefore, it is very difficult to utilize the existing models in business fields of many corporations. The purposes of this paper are as follows: The first purpose is to study the simple estimated Parameter to be easily utilized in the business fields of the corporations. The second purpose is to testify the simplification of the developed Parameter of estimated method by comparing the developed reliability evaluation model with the existing reliability evaluation models which are used in the business fields of the corporations.

  • The authors map some of the current Business Models in the Massively Multiplayer Online Player scenario. These maps represent Value Creation Systems by resorting to Value Net constructs and notations, and are offered here as a proof of concept and utility. The authors claim that these mappings can enable readers, managers and IT experts, to build new insights onto such Business Models and develop requirements for Information System infrastructure. When approaching the Value Creation System as a Value Net the goal is to think outside the conceptual box of Value Chains and understand how the different activities interact, by exposing the multiplicity of value types and flows. In doing this study the authors are attempting to synthesize a new Business Model proposal that could underlie the development of an infrastructure for the collaborative creation, distribution and exploration of online massively multiplayer games, beyond the traditional producer-consumer roles.

  • In this paper, we develop the business model of telecommunication company that facilitates to explore new business opportunities on aging society. Considering the trend of aging society, we analyze the market drivers of senior market. Analyzing market dynamics and value chain, we design a set of business models for telecommunication company. In addition, we describe the evolution path of the proposed business model in terms of technology development and market. Finally, we develop a framework for evaluating the effectiveness of the business model.
