Multifunctional communication terminal on ATM networ (서비스 통합형 ATM 멀티미디어 통신단말)

  • In this paper, we propose an architecture of multimedia communication terminal that can e used in broadband ISDN environments. To design and implement the multimedia communication terminal, we analyzed the structure of multimedia terminals and the types of services which is recommended by public and private standard or ganization, such as ITU-T, Digital Audio-Visual Council(davic) and ATM Forum. The multifunctional communication terminal designed in this paper could allow inter-working between existing communication terminals on the heterogeneousnetwork and accept current and advanced multimedia communication application flexible. An implemented terminal is consisted of the multimedia processing board and the ATm interface board that is installed in PCI bus on personal computer. The integrated service multimedia communication terminal that is implemented supports retrieval, distributive and conversational communication service simultaneously. And then we performaned functional module test according to the individual communication services.

  • This Paper suggests reasonable pricing mathod fur Reactive Power in Optimal Power Flow for the system analysis. Under restructuring, not only real power pricing but also reactive power pricing is important for the system analysis and operation. If people just focus on real power pricing, the Generators may no generate reactive power voluntarily, because the Generators may not recover the cost of the reactive power generation. So making a reasonable reactive power pricing is becoming more important than any other time. In this paper, the authors set a Proper Power factor and price the portion of the reactive power that exceeds the power factor using Interior Point Method. By applying this method, the System operator can use this strategy for the analysis of reactive power generation pricing and the Generator can get the motivation to generate reactive power. The author develops fully optimized fast Primal Dual Interior Point Method with sparsity technique and applies this method to Reliability Test System (RTS24) and KEPCO 674 bus system (684 buses. 1279 lines). It shows adaptability and usefulness.

Design of a Data Grid Model between TOS and HL7 FHIR Service for the Retrieval of Personalized Health Resources (개인화된 건강 자원 조회를 위한 TOS 와 HL7 FHIR 서비스간의 데이터그리드 모델 설계)

  • On the ICT healing platform designed to issue early disease alerts, TOS connected between the provider of personal health-related data and the service provider and relayed personalized health data. In the previous study, TOS proposed how to monitor the retrieval and management of document/measurement resources by taking mobile devices into account. Recently the healthcare field, however, defined the standard items needed for communication and data exchanges with a mobile device through HL7 FHIR. This study designed a data grid model between TOS and FHIR to provide personal health resources relayed through TOS in FHIR bundle search sets. The proposed design was organized as follows: first, it stated similarities between the method of TOS resource request and that of FHIR observation request. Then, it designed an eventbus module to process a retrieval request for FHIR service based on the imdb and cluster technologies. The proposed design can be used to expand the old service terminals of ICT healing platform to mobile health devices capable of using FHIR resources.

  • Service restoration is an emergency control in distribution control centers to restore out-of-service area as soon as possible when a fault occurs in distribution networks. Therefore, it requires fast computation time and high quality solutions for load balancing. In this paper, a load balance index and heuristic guided best-first search are proposed for these problem. The proposed algorithm consists of two parts. One is to set up a decision tree to represent the various switching operations available. Another is to identify the most effective the set of switches using proposed search technique and a feeder load balance index. Test results on the KEPCO's 108 bus distribution system show that the performance is efficient and robust.

  • Today, our country is experiencing serious graying without parallel. The government is executing various services and welfare policies to solve this problem using ubiquitous technology. But the old and disabled people are not good for using the u-service and system, because it is made for ordinary people. The purpose of this study is to solve the graying society-problem and improve the eldery as well as disabled's quality of life by integrating each information centers based on ESB(Enterprise Service Bus). The results of this study can be divided by system architecture and communication system for the eldery and disabled. The research development results of this study can be used to build the integrated information center for u-service of the old people and disabled. It will contribute to realizing the Ubiquitous-society by promotion of young people's quality of life as well as the eldery and disabled.

Analysis of Urban Planning Facility Service Area according to Bus Passenger Traffic in Jinju (진주시 버스 이용객 통행에 따른 도시계획시설 서비스 권역 분석)

  • This study aims to investigate the gap in accessibility to urban planning facilities between living spheres in local small and medium-sized cities. In this study, OD data between administrative dongs of public transportation users was constructed to analyze the living shpere, and community analysis was conducted based on cohesion between data. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that a total of 10 clusters (mid-living areas) were formed, and the topographical difference between the 11 middle living areas established in the existing Jinju City Basic Plan and the single living areas were actively exchanged to form a community with other administrative dongs. Next, the analysis of the service area of urban planning facilities for mid-living areas was conducted based on the road network. As a result of analyzing the area accessible within 5, 10, and 15 minutes, educational facilities, public facilities, cultural facilities, tourism, and green facilities could be reached within 15 minutes in most mid-living areas. On the other hand, there were many areas where access to transportation facilities, medical facilities, and cultural facilities was difficult within 15 minutes. In particular, the accessibility of the outer living area and the central living area were different. To improve the quality of life of citizens, using urban planning facilities in Jinju-si and establishing related plans in urban basic plans, it is necessary to conduct a study on service areas through network analysis.

User's Satisfaction Analysis on the User-Oriented Public Transit Service in Busan (이용자 맞춤형 대중교통서비스의 이용자 만족도 분석 : 부산시 사례를 중심으로)

  • The User-Oriented Public Transit Service provide public transit service through media devices, such as mobile, BIT and In-vehicle display devices, which considered user's individual characteristics and specific preference anytime and anywhere. The objective of this study is to develop and improve the services in the three media devices. This study applied user-satisfaction analysis in evaluating the service in Busan, analyze factor affecting the level of service user's satisfaction, and draw remedies based on the analysis results. The user's satisfaction average values in each media are 3.29 mobile, 3.62 BIT, and 4.05 In-vehicle display devices. Overall satisfaction average value 3.54 on the service showed a positive reaction from the survey participants. The important factor affected on general satisfaction of the User-Oriented Public Transit Service is "In-vehicle display devices" scored .632 (standardized coefficient) by categorical regression analysis. But users prefer to further improve the service environment rather than to add service information because they are already contented with the information they are getting. Furthermore, this study suggested ways of improving the User-Oriented Public Transit Service based on the satisfaction analysis results from the user's perspective.

Brief review of the field test and application of a superconducting fault current limiter

  • This article reviews the recent activities of field testing and application of superconducting fault current limiters (SFCL) based on high-temperature superconductors (HTS). The review particularly focuses on the trends in the field tests in terms of the technical aspects and commercial activities of the SFCLs. Stimulated by the discovery of HTS, numerous research and development activities have been conducted worldwide for SFCLs operating from distribution voltages to transmission voltages. Different types of SFCLs have been developed and field-tested. Consequently, more than 20 field tests and applications have been performed on real grids worldwide while supplying electric power to the customers. These field tests have not only provided the track records of the operation experiences including the problems and maintenance during operation, but also proved their current limiting capabilities against real faults, rendering this new technology highly viable. Through these activities, the following trends in the status of field testing and application are observed. Resistive-type SFCLs with HTS-coated conductors were dominantly used in the most recent field tests. This implies that the resistive type is technically more mature than the other types. Bus-bar coupling and transformer feeders were the major application locations. It is of importance that most of the field applications were conducted as R&D projects. A relevant change from the R&D stage to the application stage is shown as recently deployed SFCLs are expected to be under long-term operation and commercial service. Here, we review the installation of these SFCLs by substation. This review also discusses the recent activities for their commercial applications.

Modeling Subway Accessibility in Seoul Public Transport System Reform (수도권 대중교통체계 개편 전.후 지하철 이용자의 접근성 변화 모형구축)

  • Various urban transport policies have an effect on urban transit riderships and accessibility. This study reports variations of metropolitan subway travel patterns affected by an enormous change in bus routes and transfer discount fare policy between subway and bus mode conducted by Seoul city in July 1st of 2004. In an effort to see the difference between the before and the after policies, two data sets are prepared. Firstly, on a daily bassis. an origin-destination trip table of May of 2004 is used. Secondly, on a daily bassis, an origin-destination trip table of August-September of 2004 is used as a counter measure. Even if seasonal variation was not considered, Seoul metropolitan area have experienced increasing riderships and accessibility. Finally, the effects of accessibility in spatial interaction model by rall service changes such as random shocks were scrutinized and interpreted in detail.

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of MAC (Media Access Control) layer in DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication). It will be widely applied for ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) services; for example ETC (Electric Toll Control), BIS (Bus Information System) etc., needed to small packet size. But If ITS service is evolving to advance ITS, ADIS (Advanced Driver Information Systems) and AVHS (Advanced Vehicle Highway System) etc, be needed larger packet size. In the future, it may offer more various services such as traffic information, collection, and multimedia information. There are two kind of physical media, IR(Infrared) and RF(Radio frequency). And each system has their own protocol that is adaptive in special characteristics of physical medium for using efficiently limited radio resources. In this paper, we analyze the special characteristics of each system. And we study practical use of some related services expected to be used in the near future, by analyzing the transmission efficiency in each DSRC system.
