P. wasabiae was isolated from discolored seeds of wasabi(Wasabia japonical Mtsum.) and inoculated to fresh seeds, then the effect of fungicides on suppression of diseases were determined. Emergence rate of wasabi seeds where suppressed to 52.5% by the inoculation and it reached up to 92.7% by dipping treatment of inoculated seeds ito benomyl solution. The incidence rate of black leg disease and damping off were 32.0 and 22.0%, respectively, in control treatment that sown in the soil inoculated with P. wasabiae. But dipping treatment of inoculated seeds into benomyl solution resulted in 12.0% and 10.7% in incidence rate of those two diseases, respectively.

Submucosal type cleft palate is subdivision of cleft palate. Because of late detection, the treatment - for example, the operation or the speech therapy - for the submucosal type cleft palate patient usually late. In this study, we want to find the objective characteristics of submucosal type cleft palate patient, comparing with the normal and the complete cleft palate patient. Experimental groups are 10 submucosal type cleft palate patients who got the operation in our hospital, 10 complete cleft palate patients. And, 10 normals as control group. The sentence patterns using in this study is simple 5 vowels. Using CSL program we evaluate the Formant, Bandwidth. We analized the spectral characteristics of speech signals of 3 groups, before and after the operation.

The spinel $LiMn_2O_4$ has been synthesized by solid-state reaction. $LiMn_2O_4$ which includes 3 mix $Li_2CO_3$ or $LiNO_3$ and $MnO_2$ prepared by Prelim heating at $350^{\circ}C$ for 24hr. $LiMn_2O_4$ fired at temp range from $600^{\circ}C$ to $800^{\circ}C$ for 48hr. The structure a electrochemical characteristics of spinel $LiMn_2O_2$ wh fabricated by changing sintering condition from st materials are investigated. The spinel $LiMn_2O_4$ prepared by the mixture of L CMD at $800^{\circ}C$ for 48hr showed an initial charge ca of 146mAh/g. The spinel $LiMn_2O_4$ prepared by the m of $LiNO_3$/CMD at $600{\sim}800^{\circ}C$ for 48hr stabilized ch discharge capacity after 50th cycles.

Submucosal type cleft palate is a kind of cleft palate. A submucosal cleft may result in shortening of the anteroposterior dimension of the hard or soft palates or both. The increased distance along with the lack of muscle connection in the soft palate usually accounts for the lack of palatopharyngeal function in patients with submucosal cleft. Resonance disorders which is found in cleft patients show hypernasality or hyponasality. Many cases of submucosal type cleft palate patients visit our clinics due to hypernasality. In this study, resonance disorders was evaluated through nasalance test. Experimental group was composed of submucosal type cleft palate patients. The patients were treated by a so-called combined therapy, i.e., operation and speech training. To observe the changing pattern by surgery, nasalance test was carried out one time before surgery and three times after surgery. Nasometer II was used as a examination. The questionaire was filled with single vowels & diphthongs. The mean nasalance score of the child was significantly lower than that of the adult at every vowel. An early age at operation (under 10 years) was that a better functional result was achieved with patients. The mean nasalance score of /i/ was highest and that of /a/ was the lowest. The result of corrective surgery in selected cases has achieved improvement in all cases. Hypernasality has been consistently diminished. he operation.

In order to investigate the possibility of the microbial degradation of the persistent pollutant 3, 3', 4, 4'-tetrachloroazobenzene (TCAB) in our environment, four strains of microorganisms were isolated from industrial wastes by the enrichment technique. They were identified as Achromobacter group VD, Pseudomonas alcaligenes, Moraxella spp., and Alcaligenes faecalis, respectively. These microorganisms utilized TCAB as a sole carbon source in the $MM_2$ salt medium.

Objective : We recently reported that OMC-2010 has an immuno-modulatory effects via inhibiting tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-${\alpha}$ and interleukin (IL)-5. However, we did not find out which constituents play an important role in immuno-modulatory effect of OMC-2010. Thus, this study was performed to estimate the effects of constituents of OMC-2010 on cytokine production in mouse spleen cells, then ultimately reach to find out effective constituents regulating splenic cytokine production. Methods : Mouse spleen cells were pre-treated with water and ethanol extract of constituents of OMC-2010 such as Rehmannia glutinosa (RG), Pinellia ternata (PT), Citrus unshiu Markovich (CUM), Glycyrrhiza uralensis (GU), Platycodon grandiflorum (PG), Schisandra chinensis (SC). After 1 h, the cells were stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS, 1 ${\mu}g/ml$) for 48 h. Then the cells were harvested for real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction to detect cytokine productions. Results : The water extract of RG extract significantly inhibited the LPS-induced inTNF-${\alpha}$ and IL-5 mRNA expressions, but the water extract of PT, CUM, GU, PG, and SC did not. The ethanol extract of RG, PT, and SC significantly inhibited the LPS-induced TNF-${\alpha}$, and IL-5 mRNA expressions, but the ethanol extract of CUM, GU, and PG did not. Conclusions : Theses results could suggest that the water extract of RG and the ethanol extract of RG, PT, and SC inhibited the expression of TNF-${\alpha}$ and IL-5, which means that the possible candidate of OMC-2010 water extract's action might be RG, and ethanol extract's action might be RG, PR, and SC.
