A detailed information browsing as a standard of the hierarchical structure on 3D national treasure building (3D 건조물 문화재의 계층적 구조를 기반으로 한 상세정보브라우징)

  • In this paper, I would like to talk about a step by step detailed information browsing which is founded on hierarchical structure for offering suitable information about the mass 3D data of a national treasure building to user as a standard of the visual distance. A step by step detailed information of the national treasure building of gigantic proportions offers a process of detailed information browsing which decided suitable hierarchical structure as considering of the preprocessing procedure which produces hierarchical structure and a visual distance of user. In the preprocessing procedure, 3D data is divided and controlled by optimized spacial structures. The relevance connection between the inner spacial surface is then examined and reconfigured in order to prevent holes or distortions. Finally, relative information data is created. In detailed information browsing, by examining the visual distance between model and user, then by browsing proper step of data, suitable level model data can be provided to the users in accordance with the position of observation.

Dynamic Summarization and Summary Description Scheme for Efficient Video Browsing (효율적인 비디오 브라우징을 위한 동적 요약 및 요약 기술구조)

  • Recently, the capability of efficient access to the desired video content is of growing importance because more digital video data are available at an increasing rate. A video summary abstracting the gist from the entirety enables the efficient browsing as well as the fast skimming of the video contents. In this paper, we discuss a novel dynamic summarization method based on the detection of highlights which represent semantically significant content and the description scheme (DS) proposed to MPEG-7 aiming to provide summary description. The summary DS proposed to MPEG-7 allows for efficient navigation and browsing to the contents of interest through the functionalities of multi-level highlights, hierarchical browsing and user-customized summarization. In this paper, we also show the validation and the usefulness of the methodology for dynamic summarization and the summary DS in real applications with soccer video sequences.

Understanding Knowledge Sharing in Virtual Communities through Knowledge Seeking Behavior (가상공동체에서 지식탐색을 통한 지식공유에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated knowledge browsing behavior as the factor affecting the increase of knowledge sharing intention. To conduct this study in the specific context of knowledge seeking and sharing behavior of virtual community members, literature on knowledge seeking behavior, meta-knowledge, and knowledge sharing intention was reviewed. Structural Equation Modeling was conducted to analyze survey data to test the research model of this study. The result showed that knowledge browsing have positive effects on creating of virtual community members' subject knowledge and meta-knowledge, which, in turn, affected positively their knowledge sharing intention. One of the main contributions of this study is that knowledge seeking behavior influence one's knowledge sharing intention in a virtual community. Organization managers should consider knowledge seeking behavior as not only a self-interested, consuming activity, but also a productive one through its function of constructing subject knowledge and meta-knowledge.

  • This paper proposes a Video Browsing Service that provides both the video content retrieval and the video browsing by the real-time user interface on Web. For the scene segmentation and key frame extraction of video sequence, we proposes an efficient scene change detection method that combine the RGB color histogram with the ${\chi}2$ histogram.

  • This study reviews various aspects of design of user interfaces in interactive information retrieval systems. Specially the study examines, 1) search related interfaces such as query processing, search strategies, and multilingual processing, and 2) browsing related interfaces such as document browsing and search result browsing. The main goals of this review are to characterize user interface techniques in information retrieval systems and to suggest potential future research direction and challenges.

  • 동영상 서비스의 공급과 수요의 증가로 많은 양과 종류의 동영상에 접근을 제공하기 위한 브라우징과 검색이 보다 중요해지고 있다. RSVP와 사용자 태그의 개념을 이용한 동영상 브라우징인 'Rapid Browsing'은 사용자가 원하는 동영상 내용에 보다 효율적으로 접근할 수 있도록 한다. 이 방법은 바로 원하는 장면이 있는지 찾아볼 수 있으므로 검색시간을 단축함은 물론 어떤 내용이 있는지 빠르게 알아낼 수 있다. 또한 사용자의 시간태그를 기반으로 미리보기를 제공하기 때문에 하이라이트 부분을 먼저 감상할 수 있고 이로써 내용을 기반으로 한 검색이 가능해지며 빠르게 댓글을 통한 사용자들끼리의 커뮤니케이션 효과가 있다는 장점이 있다.

  • 본 논문은 MPEG-4 비디오 객체의 브라우징(browsing) 및 학습을 통한 객체 추출 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 학습에 의한 객체 추출 기법은, 객체 브라우징 시 임의 접근한 프레임에서 사용자가 내용 기반의 객체를 검색하기 위해 선택한 영역에 대한 인지적인 정보를 특징벡터(feature vector)로 history에 저장, 활용함으로써 프레임 내 객체의 계층적인 군집화(clustering)를 수행한다. 이러한 기법으로 인지적 개념과 근접하게 객체를 인식할 수 있음을 실험을 통해 확인하였다.

  • A graphic user interface for effectively browsing object-oriented databases in complex applications is designed and implemented. The rationale behind our design lies in enabling the users of various levels and needs to investigate the database according to their respective interests and desired depths. A novel idea in our design is the introduction of zooming techniques from a logical view, which vidualize the backbone abstraction concepts of the object-oriented data model. These objectives are verified by evaluating the results of its implementation.

  • 웹의 등장으로 우리는 현재 멀티미디어 정복까지도 쉽게 이용할 수 있게 되었지만, 웹에서의 텍스트 문서정보의 브라우징(Browsing)은 많은 마우스 클릭과 스크롤링을 필요로 하고 있다. 또한 현재의 웹 텍스트 문서의 브라우징은 문서의 내용이 클 경우 검색자가 현재 브라우징하고 있는 문서가 본인이 필요로 하는 것인지, 아닌지를 판단하는데 많은 시간과 노력을 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 문서의 제목 부분과 내용 단락의 전체가 아닌 1-2줄만으로도 문서의 전체 윤곽을 쉽게 파악할 수 있다는데 착안하여 웹에서의 효율적인 텍스트 문서 브라우징 시스템을 개발하였다.
