A Performance Study on Congestion Control Schemes for the Broadband Communication Networks (광대역통신망에서 폭주제어 방식에 대한 성능연구)

  • In this paper, we carry out a performance study related to the Broadband Network. For this network, it has been proposed to use the leaky bucket as a way of controlling congestion within the network. On the top of leaky bucket type rate based congestion control scheme for high speed networks, a user will typically operate an error control scheme for retransmitting lost and erroneous packets. We propose a performance model in order to study the interaction between a user's error control scheme and the leaky bucket congestion control scheme for high speed networks. Simulation results show that parameters such as the window size and the token generation rate in the leaky bucket are key factors affecting the end-to-end delay.

  • Character of the technology that is going to lead the next generation convergence network which has been discussed recently can be represented by Integrating and Convergence. As Wireless Telecommunication and Broadband Transport Technology make rapid progress for several years, and those of two important technical advance, Integrating, Convergence will combine with the latest terminal technology. so it becomes a big issue of utmost importance. This paper, therefore, investigates the network deployment strategies and relating technology toward Broadband Convergence Network(BcN) and makes a survey of up-to-date technique based on Telecom Service businesses which have been required.

  • The important purposes of research in ship operation are to ensure safe navigation, high efficiency of transportation, high accuracy, and security. IMO, develops a broad strategy for incorporating the use of new technologies in a structured way to ensure that their use is compliant with the various electronic navigational and communication technologies and services that are already available. As a base research for E-Navigation, therefore, this paper proposes a maritime information network based on Mesh Network that is one of the maritime broadband solutions. Firstly, this paper analyzes an international port network system and the requirements of port network for E-Navigation. Finally, it designs the maritime information network system based on Mesh Network and shows its validity for E-Navigation.

  • In this paper, we propose a new network architecture for the future broadband personalized multimedia network. We first consider the service and technical requirements for supporting future advanced services such as personalized and intelligent communication services. In addition, we consider the design and implementation of the future network. Considering these requirements. we propose a new network architecture and its control scheme that can efficiently support the future personalized and intelligent services as well as broadband multimedia services. The network provides only a relatively simple core set of functions such as basic end-to-end connectivity, integrated access, and primitive network intelligence of user location. More intelligent features (e.g., personalized calling, virtual private networking and so on) can be offered through the additional network facilities or computing devices through an intelligent network.

  • In this paper, an analytic transfer channel modeling function by impulse signal propagation effects in indoor power-line network are analysed. The modeled channel parameters of power line channel including background noise is applied to the OFDM system and we analysis BER for QPSK and 16-QAM modulation signals with simulation. By the representation of gain for OFDM modulation, we can estimate the characteristic parameters of OFDM in Broadband power line communication.

  • The Home network system means that information appliances, Home PCs, etc., using wired or wireless network method enable to control and share with peripheral devices such as internet, shared data, a scanner and a printer, and it is networking solution, which intelligent communication will be possible as the system which can do a remote control such as TV Set, refrigerators, air conditioners, DVD players, digital camcorders based on external network using an internet, a potable information terminal and a mobile phone whenever, wherever and freely. In this study, the home network interface solution is used one of the wired network standards, PLC (Power-Line Communication) technology, so we can construct of intelligent home network's home controller without re-build a network at home. On keeping with current waves of thought, we will focus on a home controller development with great interest which is enabled to do an effective managed control, applying intelligent home network technology which can be new paradigm like a cyber apartment.

Deep Recurrent Neural Network for Multiple Time Slot Frequency Spectrum Predictions of Cognitive Radio

  • The main processes of a cognitive radio system include spectrum sensing, spectrum decision, spectrum sharing, and spectrum conversion. Experimental results show that these stages introduce a time delay that affects the spectrum sensing accuracy, reducing its efficiency. To reduce the time delay, the frequency spectrum prediction was proposed to alleviate the burden on the spectrum sensing. In this paper, the deep recurrent neural network (DRNN) was proposed to predict the spectrum of multiple time slots, since the existing methods only predict the spectrum of one time slot. The continuous state of a channel is divided into a many time slots, forming a time series of the channel state. Since there are more hidden layers in the DRNN than in the RNN, the DRNN has fading memory in its bottom layer as well as in the past input. In addition, the extended Kalman filter was used to train the DRNN, which overcomes the problem of slow convergence and the vanishing gradient of the gradient descent method. The spectrum prediction based on the DRNN was verified with a WiFi signal, and the error of the prediction was analyzed. The simulation results proved that the multiple slot spectrum prediction improved the spectrum efficiency and reduced the energy consumption of spectrum sensing.

  • In shipyard site, a ship is constructed by integrating lots of modules that are made in several sites with different capabilities and specifications. Recently, it needs to make a shipyard to be smart communicating various multimedia information with wired and wireless broadband networks between hierarchical shipyards. In this paper, we propose an additional function of an LTE femtocell local gateway at a remote shipyard, an information exchange method between hierarchical shipyards, and an offload method to separate the general traffic. To reduce traffic of duplicated requests in shipyard, we apply a D2D communication scheme for supporting communication between shipyard equipments without IP service network. Hence, it is expected to increase the productivity of shipyard industry with mobile communications, D2D and broadband Internet technologies.

  • Network-based real-time multimedia applications require guaranteed performances of communication service. Also according to increased bandwidth and processing performance in the future high speed networks, it is possible to make multimedia real-time applications such as distributed real-time applications including video conference, medical imaging, and video education. These applications have characteristics of stringent performance requirements in terms of delay, delay jitter and maximum loss rate. This paper proposes a new delay control for Broadband networks with FCFS queueing. The delay control provides an alternative solution to a current problem in real-time communication; traffic distortion, which makes it difficult to meet such real-time requirements. In simulations, it shows that the proposed delay control can guarantee local and end-to-end delay.

  • Policy maker inevitably faces two restraints once they attempt to accomplish $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution through development of Industrial Internet of Things(i.e. IIoT). One is to construct physical network by substituting old equipment and infrastructure into smart equipment and the other is to connect the physical network into national telecommunications infrastructure. Australia, as she proceeds National Broadband Network programme, has assembled all medium of telecommunications to provide every Australian premises regardless to its physical location by creating wholes-sale only carrier, NBN co. At the same time, Australian government also provides its own IIoT policy; Co-development and New-Development projects. Meanwhile, NBN co. has launched its own two communication satellites in 2015 and 2016 to replace the old satellite communication services depended on the other companies' satellites. This article, in the end, analyses the role of satellite communication in $4^{th}$ industrial revolution with case study on Australian policy.
