Effects of Dietary Vitamins C and E on Egg Shell Quality of Broiler Breeder Hens under Heat Stress

  • 본 연구에서는 사료 중 비타민 C(200 mg/kg)와 비타민 E(250 mg/kg)의 첨가가 heat stress하 육용종계의 난각 품질에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 83주령의 강제환우된 Ross 육용종계 160수를 공시하여 4처리 4반복 그리고 반복당 10수를 무작위로 개별 케이지에 수용하였다. 4처리구 중 대조구는 비타민 C와 E를 추가로 첨가하지 않았으며 시험구는 비타민 C 처리구, 비타민 E 처리구, 그리고 비타민 C/E 동시 처리구로 하였다. 실온 25 $^{\circ}C$에서 10일간의 적응기간 후에 32 $^{\circ}C$에서 3주간 실험하였다. 실험기간 중 산란율은 급속히 떨어졌으나 처리구간에 유의한 차이가 없었으나 난중, 비중, 난각두께, SWUSA, pucture force와 난각 파괴강도에서는 비타민 C/E 처리구가 대조구에 비해 유의하게 높았다(P<0.05). 비타민 C 처리구는 경골 파괴강도에서 37.16 kg으로 대조구 및 비타민 E 처리구에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다(P<0.05).한편, 혈중 corticosterone 수준(5.97 ng/ml)은 대조구가 다른 시험구들보다 유의하게 높았다(P<0.05). Heat stress는 백혈구 중 heterophil의 비율을 높이고 lymphocyte의 비율은 낮추어 H/L ratio를 변화시켰다. 시험구의 H/L ratio는 대조구보다 낮았으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 결론적으로 사료 중 비타민 C(200 mg/kg)와 비타민 E(250 mg/kg)의 첨가는 육용종계에서 heat stress에 의한 영향을 경감하여 난각품질 및 경골강도의 약화를 방지한다고 할 수 있겠다.

저항성 훈련이 노화흰쥐의 골밀도 및 골대사 관련 지표에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Resistance Training on BMD and Bone Metabolism Related Markers in Aging Rats)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 12주간 저항성훈련에 따른 노화 흰쥐의 골밀도 및 골대사 관련 지표에 미치는 영향을 관찰하는 것이다. 생후 64 주령의 Sprague-Dawley계 노화 흰쥐(체중 565±3.12)를 대조군(n=10)과 저항성 훈련군(부하 없는 저항성 훈련군(n=10)과 부하 있는 저항성 훈련군(n=10)으로 분류하여 주 4회 12주간 사다리 오르기 훈련을 실시한 후 골밀도 및 골대사 관련 지표의 변화를 측정한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 대퇴골의 회분 및 칼슘 햠량은 부하 있는 저항성 훈련군>부하 없는 저항성 훈련군>대조군 순으로 유의하게 증가하였으며, 세 집단간 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 인지질 함량은 부하 있는 저항성 훈련군>부하 없는 저항성 훈련군, 부하 있는 저항성 훈련군>대조군 순서로 나타났는데, 대조군에 비교하여 부하 있는 저항성 훈련군에서만 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 골강도와 osteocalcin 농도는 부하 있는 저항성 훈련군>부하 없는 저항성 훈련군>대조군 순으로 유의하게 증가하였으며, 세 집단간 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 본 연구를 종합하면 노화 흰쥐에서 12주간 저항성훈련은 대퇴골밀도와 골대사관련 지표에 유익한 효과를 나타내는데 이러한 결과는 저항성훈련으로 인한 골밀도의 증가는 골재흡수의 지표인 osteocalcin 과 골의 기계적구조의 변화뿐만 아니라 훈련의 강도(training intensity)가 중요한 매개 요인임을 알 수 있었다.

체중 부하 운동이 흰쥐의 골대사에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Erect Bipedal Stance Exercise on Bone Formation and Resorption in Rats)

  • The effects of the erect bipedal stance exercise on bone mass and the biomarkers of bone formation and resorption were investigated in rats. Five-week old rats were assigned into control and exercise groups. The rats of exercise group were weight-bearing-trained for 13 weeks in the cage designed to adjust progressively the height from 26.5 cm to 31.5 cm to force the rats rising an erect bipedal stance for feeding and drinking. There was no significant difference in food intakes between two groups. But body weight gain was significantly increased in control group. The lengths of femur, tibia, humerus and radius were significantly longer in control group than exercise group, but the femur and tibia weights per body weight were significantly higher in exercise group than control group. Also the breaking force of femur and tibia in exercise group were higher than control group significantly. The calcium contents of femur and tibia were significantly increased in exercise group than control group. The activity of bone specific alkaline phosphatase (B-ALP) and the osteocalcin contents of serum (the biomarkers of bone formation) in exercise group were higher than control group, but the carboxyterminal propeptide of type I procollagen (P1CP) contents of serum did not show any difference between two groups. However the urinary deoxypridinolin (DPD) excretion, biomarker of bone resorption, was significantly lower in exercise group than control group. From these results, it has been indicated that the erect bipedal stance exercise enhanced the density and the strength of femur and tibia by increasing biomarkers of bone formation and suppressing a biomarker of bone resorption in rats.

묘박중 해저 저질에 따른 파주력 특성 (Characteristic of holding power due to nature of seabed at anchor)

  • In general, a high tension on the anchor and chain is placed when a ship at anchor is subjected to heavy weather. Mariners have to pay attention to whether dragging anchor occurs to keep the safety of the ship at anchorage since it is difficult to maintain the stable motion of ship and it causes collisions with other ships nearby. In this paper, the ship motion against the external forces was shown to obtain the fundamental data about characteristic of holding power due to nature of seabed at anchor, so practical trials were carried out in rocky area and muddy area using a trial ship around coastal area of South Korea. In muddy seabed, holding power showed reasonable tension values depending on the distance from anchor position of continuing swing motions of a ship corresponding to wind force. Meanwhile in rocky seabed, tension values on the chain appeared very high occasionally regardless of the distance from the anchor position and seemed to exceed its holding power to be the breaking strain of the chain although weather was not in a severe condition. Therefore, some of the cables laid on the seabed were presumed to be caught in a crack on the rock. It is assumed that even a small amount of external force may cause the chain to break in a moment in rocky seabed. Additionally, wind and current forces had a somewhat contradictory effect on holding power of the ship between them.

심한 교합면 마모 및 교두 파절 환자에서 유기필러를 함유한 4-META/MMA-TBB 레진을 활용한 직접수복 증례 (A case of direct restore using 4-META/MMA-TBB resin containing organic filler in patients with severe occlusal surface wear and enamel fracture)

  • 교모는 치아 간의 접촉으로 인하여 치아 경조직이 소실되는 것으로, 심한 경우 상아질이 노출되어 선택적인 부식과 치아의 과도한 마모가 동반되는데, 이를 cupping이라고 부른다. 이러한 병소를 치료하지 않고 방치할 경우 병소의 크기가 점차 커지게 되어 지지되지 않는 법랑질이 파절되고, 결과적으로 심미성과 저작 기능이 저하된다. 본 증례보고에서는 심한 교모로 인해 cupping과 법랑질 파절이 동반된 환자에서 유기필러가 함유되어 부드러운 성질을 지닌 레진을 이용하여 직접수복을 실시하였다. 6년 후의 경과관찰에서 교합면의 충전은 대부분 탈락하였으나 협측의 충전은 비교적 온전하게 남아 있음을 관찰할 수 있었고, 이런 형태의 레진이 교합력이 크게 가해지는 부위보다는 교합력이 비교적 약하게 가해지는 부위에 적합한 재료임을 확인할 수 있었다.

반응표면분석법을 이용한 넙치 첨가 어묵면의 품질 특성 및 제조조건 최적화 (Quality Characteristics and Optimization of Fish-Meat Noodle Formulation Added with Olive Flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) Using Response Surface Methodology)

  • 본 연구에서는 반응표면분석법을 이용하여 어묵면의 주원료인 넙치, 명태, 전분의 함량이 어묵면의 품질에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 어묵면의 배합비를 최적화하였다. 반응모형에서 명태와 넙치의 함량이 높을수록 어묵면의 백색도, 강도, 경도, 파괴강도, 변형도, 씹힘성, 깨짐성, 신장력, 신장거리가 증가하였고, 전분의 함량이 높을수록 감소하거나 그 영향이 미미한 것으로 나타났다. 양식산 넙치를 첨가한 어묵면의 주원료 배합비의 최적조건은 명태, 넙치, 전분의 함량이 각각 명태 72.00 g, 넙치 11.59 g 전분 15.86 g인 것으로 나타났으며, 이때의 만족도는 0.9558이었다, 이들 배합비를 적용하여 넙치 첨가 어묵면을 제조한 결과 백색도는 $59.01{\pm}0.53$, 강도 $708.22{\pm}54.12g/cm^2$, 경도 $1,390.07{\pm}67.70g/cm^2$, 파괴강도 $3,622.77{\pm}92.52g$, 씹힘성 $2,686.94{\pm}103.22g$, 깨짐성 $278,578.31{\pm}10,150.22g$, 신장력 $52.22{\pm}2.97g$, 신장거리 $24.14{\pm}3.55mm$로 나타났다. 이상의 결과로부터 넙치 첨가 어묵면 제조에 있어서 명태, 넙치, 전분의 배합비를 최적화함으로써 품질이 우수한 고부가가치 연제품으로서의 어묵면 제품화가 가능할 것으로 생각된다.

Effect of Mechanically Deboned Chicken Meat Hydrolysates on the Physicochemical Properties of Imitation Fish Paste

  • This study investigated on the effects of adding mechanically deboned chicken meat (MDCM) hydrolysates on the quality properties of imitation fish paste (IFP) during storage. IFP was prepared from Alaska Pollack, spent laying hens surimi and protein hydrolysates which were enzymatically extracted from MDCM. The study was designed as a $3{\times}4$ factorial design with three MDCM hydrolysate content groups (0%, 0.4%, and 0.8%) and four storage times (0, 2, 4, and 6 weeks). Addition of MDCM hydrolysates increased crude fat content but lowered water content (p<0.05). The breaking force of IFP, an indicator of gel formation, increased in treated groups compared to control (p<0.05). Angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) activity was inhibited and free radical scavenging activity increased with increasing MDCM hydrolysate content (p<0.05). In conclusion, the addition of MDCM to IFP improves gel characteristics. Additionally, protein hydrolysates from MDCM serve as a potential source of ACE inhibiting peptides.

Structural and Electrical Features of Solution-Processed Li-doped ZnO Thin Film Transistor Post-Treated by Ambient Conditions

  • Transparent oxide semiconductors are increasingly becoming one of good candidates for high efficient channel materials of thin film transistors (TFTs) in large-area display industries. Compare to the conventional hydrogenated amorphous silicon channel layers, solution processed ZnO-TFTs can be simply fabricated at low temperature by just using a spin coating method without vacuum deposition, thus providing low manufacturing cost. Furthermore, solution based oxide TFT exhibits excellent transparency and enables to apply flexible devices. For this reason, this process has been attracting much attention as one fabrication method for oxide channel layer in thin-film transistors (TFTs). But, poor electrical characteristic of these solution based oxide materials still remains one of issuable problems due to oxygen vacancy formed by breaking weak chemical bonds during fabrication. These electrical properties are expected due to the generation of a large number of conducting carriers, resulting in huge electron scattering effect. Therefore, we study a novel technique to effectively improve the electron mobility by applying environmental annealing treatments with various gases to the solution based Li-doped ZnO TFTs. This technique was systematically designed to vary a different lithium ratio in order to confirm the electrical tendency of Li-doped ZnO TFTs. The observations of Scanning Electron Microscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy, and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy were performed to investigate structural properties and elemental composition of our samples. In addition, I-V characteristics were carried out by using Keithley 4,200-Semiconductor Characterization System (4,200-SCS) with 4-probe system.

Accumulation and Decay of Macroscopic Correlations in Elementary Reactions Kinetics

  • In the present contribution the Encounter Theory (ET) (the prototype of the classical Collision Theory in rarefied gases) concepts for widely occurring diffusion assisted irreversible bulk reactions A + A ${\rightarrow}$ C and A + B ${\rightarrow}$ C in liquid solutions examined by the authors in the literature are analyzed and compared with each other for these different types of reactions. It is shown that for a particular case of equal initial concentrations $[A]_0=[B]_0$ in the reaction A + B ${\rightarrow}$ C, when the kinetics of both reactions A + A ${\rightarrow}$ C and A + B ${\rightarrow}$ C in the framework of formal chemical kinetics and ET are the same, the accumulation of macroscopic correlations breaking the concepts of independent encounters and leading to the Generalized Encounter Theory (GET) are drastically different. The influence of the force interaction and the decay of nonstable reactants on the time behavior the macroscopic correlations is also briefly discussed.

사석제의 건설 공정설계를 위한 수리학적 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on hydrodynamic characteristics for. construction progress of rubble mound breakwaters)

  • The Sectional and Spatial failure modes are discussed using the experimental data with long crest wave and multi-directional waves considering the failure modes occurring around the rubble-mound breakwater. The spatial & sectional stability and failure mode around the rubble-mound structures with construction progress can be summarized as follows: 1) The rubble mound structures at basic construction step was occurred serious failures when ${\xi}$ was about 6.5. 2) It was clarified that the failure modes at the round head of detached breakwater are classified as failure by plunging breaking on the slope, failure by direct incident wave force and failure by scouring at the toe of the detached break water. 3) The failure mode was found in the lower wave height than the design wave by the breaker depth effect. 4) The failure on the slope were also developed at the lee side of the round head because diffracted wave propagated into the behind area by grouping effect of multi-directional irregular wave.
