  • Nowadays, one of the serious problems in KEPCO system is large fault current which exceeds the SCC(Short Circuit Capacity) of circuit breaker, As the superconductivity technology has been developed, the HTS-FCL(High Temperature Superconductor-Fault Current Limiter) can be one of the attractive alternatives to solve the fault current problem. However, the parameters of HTS-FCL should be designed optimally to have a best performance. Under this background, this paper presents the optimal design method of parameters for resistive type HTS-FCL using stochastic analysis technique.

  • Nowadays, one of the serious Problems in KEPCO system is the more higher fault current than the SCC(Short Circuit Capacity) of circuit breaker. There are many alternatives to reduce the increased fault current. As the superconductivity technology has been develops, the HTS-FCL(High Temperature Superconductor-Fault Current Limiter) can be a one of the attractive alternatives to solve the fault current problem. Under the this background, this paper presents distribution system EMTDC modeling and the application of EMTDC model for resistance type HTS-FCL in the developed distribution system model.

재래시장 전기설비 실태조사 분석 (Analysis of Electrical Installation Survey at Conventional Markets)

  • The conventional markets is badly damaged by a big fire because of no proper fire fighting management system. The cause of electricity fire is the aging and contact badness of electric equipment. The supervisory detecting system is needed to develop because the electric equipment is located to non visible and non exposing place. In this paper, we investigated the receiving and distributing board, the panel board and the fire prevention system of 17 domestic conventional markets. As a result of survey, capacity of distributing boards is mainly 600A and materials of distributing boards are synthetic resins 49%, metal 44%. ELB is mainly used as branch circuit breaker.

  • Recently, a breaking capacity increases with breaking method using gas pressure from ablation materials in low voltage circuit breakers. In this paper, we investigated arc quenching materials with spectroscopic method. Especially, Hydrogen spectrum was investigated because its dielectric characteristics are better than other gases. We selected two arc quenching materials, UP and PA6, that use in circuit breakers. They had hydrogen spectrums, but PA6 was better than UP in the qualitative aspect.

  • Many electrical fires are occurred by leakage currents and sparks generated by a short circuit. Earth leakage circuit breakers (ELCBs) should be tripped at the moment of the faults mentioned above. In this paper, we described the tripping characteristics of ELCBs against parallel arcing faults. A diesel engine generator with the capacity of 375 kVA source was adopted to provide enough large current when a parallel arcing occurred. The experimental results showed that most ELCBs we experimented were not tripped against short-duration pulse currents produced by parallel arcing because the ELCBs are designed to be tripped by a large current with long duration similar to power frequency.

직렬형 하이브리드 굴절차량용 대용량 LPB 팩의 적용 및 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation for Application of Large Capacity LPB Pack Equipped to Series Hybrid Articulated Vehicle)

  • Newly developed Series hybrid low-floor articulated vehicle which can meet both road and railway running conditions. It has the rated driving speed of 80 km/h and three driving modes with hybrid(engine+battery) driving mode, engine driving mode, battery driving mode. The battery driving mode requires the several 10 km running without additional charging operation. The vehicle has been equipped with LPB (lithium polymer battery) pack for the series hybrid propulsion system. LPB pack consists of 168 cells (3.7 V in a cell, 80 Ah) in series, DC Circuit breaker, mechanical rack, BMS (battery management system). This paper has shown the design process of LPB pack and application to the vehicle. Driving results in the road was successful to be satisfied with the requirement of the series hybrid vehicle.

  • As the load density of KEOCO system is higher, the fault current can be much higher than SCC(Short Circuit Capacity) of circuit breaker. Even though there are several alternatives to reduce fault current, as the superconductivity technology has been developed, the HTS-FCL (High Temperature Superconductivity Fault Current Limiter) can be one of the attractive alternatives to solve the fault current problem. 다차로 톨링시스템(SMART Tolling)의 용량추정 방법에 대한 연구 (A Simple Methodology for Estimating the Capacity of Multi-lane Smart Tolling)

  • 단차로 무인 자동통행료 징수시스템(하이패스) 이용률증가와 함께 차단차로 운영, 차단기 작동 등에 따라 단차로 무인 자동통행료 징수시스템 차로 정체는 필연적이다. 이를 개선하기 위해 단차로 무인 자동통행료 징수시스템 차로 용량을 개선하기 위한 많은 연구가 진행 중이며, 대표적으로 스마트하이웨이사업에서 다차로 기반의 무정차 영업시스템(스마트톨링)을 들 수 있다. 본 고는 이러한 시스템의 효율성 개선으로써 스마트톨링의 용량증대 정도를 판단하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 기존 단차로 무인 자동통행료 징수시스템 자료를 바탕으로 스마트톨링시스템의 용량을 추정하는 방법을 제시하였다. 먼저, 단차로 무인 자동통행료 징수시스템 자료를 이용하여 포화차두시간을 산출한다. 그 다음으로 단차로 무인 자동통행료 징수시스템 차로의 용량을 산출한 다음, 단차로에서 다차로로 변경됨에 따라 바뀌는 주변도로환경을 계수화(양측장애물단측장애물 차로폭 및 측방여유폭 보정계수 증가분, 차단기 운영미운영 함에 따라 증가하는 용량 증가분, 차로폭 증가에 따른 용량 증가분)하고 이를 적용하여 다차로 용량을 추정하였다. 그 결과 각각의 경우 용량은 2172~2187대/시로 나타났으며, 기존 문헌에서 제시하는 최대값보다 약 370대/시 정도 많으며, 포화차두시간은 기존 단차로 무인 자동통행료 징수시스템의 차두시간에서 0.5초 정도 단축되어 용량개선 효과가 있는 것으로 판단되었다. 일부 한계와 향후연구사항이 같이 논의되었다.

  • Electrical equipment in factories, buildings, etc. with the development of the industry has become a large capacity. By the development, electric load also become diversified and there is also highly functional requirements being electrical equipment. Particularly in the small and medium-sized circuit breakers, tend to preferentially consider the economy stands out and improvements in safety, ease of mounting and connection through the modularity of the basic dimensions compact and cost to block expansion of the scope of the development of capacity, etc. The product having a competitive has been strongly required. In order to implement the circuit breakers of breaking capacity and compact at the same time taking into account the economic development of this technology applied to the current-limiting mechanism is essential budget or the current limiting mechanism is currently available mechanisms applicable to small and medium-sized frame (frame) can not do it. In this paper, at the same time satisfying the economic efficiency, by minimizing the load force of the moving contactor (moving contactor) to be applied to small and medium frame other hand to secure the economical efficiency without using high speed contact parting acceleration of the moving contactor conventional current-limiting mechanism, and to develop a current-limiting mechanism that can be satisfied with the same or higher performance to meet the needs of the market.
