Photosynthetic pigments and their degradation products in suspended and sinking particles collected from the Gulf of Mexico waters 1987~88, were measured using High Performance liquid Chromatography (HPIC). The short term variations in flux rates of chlorophylls and carotenoids as well as-their degradation products were compared at the mesoscale cyclonic and anticyclonic circulation features (cold joie rink and warm core ring). Chlorophyll a was the predominant porphyrin of suspended particulate matter at both CCR -and WCR. Among carotenoid pigments, 19'-hexanoyloxyfucoxanthin, which is a biomarker of prymnesiophytes, was dominant pigment at both rinds. Phaeophorbide a, which is produced through the Brazing processes of grazers, was the predominant degraded pigment in sinking particles ai the study aiea. Total pigment flux in CCR was an order of magnitude higher than that in WCR. Less than l% of the standing stock of the pigments measured sank out of the upper 200m of the WCR on any given day. Thus, suspended particulate matter in Gulf of Medico was not recycled rapidly.

The purpose of this experiment was to develope Triggered Vacuum Switch (TVS) for the high voltage and high current. The TVS has an array of rods of alternate polarity in which a fixed gap spacing is maintained between the rods. The cross section of each rod has trapezoidal shape. It consists of electrode, ceramic chamber, getter and trigger. Currently, triggered vacuum switch (TVS) with seal-off has been designed and fabricated at PAL. An experimentation and trigger devices for TVS were designed for testing characteristics of electricity. For making the prototype of TVS, it is developed of fabrication process and fined of electrode material. The fabrication of the TVS is a lot of process which have manufacturing of part, chemical clean, ceramic brazing and metal welding. The fabricated TVS is tested of leak for vacuum, hold-off voltage and conditioning of trigger system. The TVS has pinch-off after it is removed of gas in the TVS and activated of getter in degassing furnace. The prototype TVS tested about 20 kV, 75 kA, 83 ${\mu}s$ with 100 kJ capacitor bank and inductance 5 ${\mu}H$. This paper describes the results of tests and the characteristics of the switch.
The dissolution phenomenon of the solid phase powder and base metal by liquid phase insert metal during Transient Liquid Phase bonding using the mixed powder composed of the modified GTD111(base metal) powder and the GNi3 (Ni-l4Cr-9.5Co-3.5Al-2.5B) powder was investigated. In case of the mixed powder contains modified GTD111 powder 50wt%, all of the powder was melted by liquid phase at 1423K. At the temperature between solidus and liquidus of GNi3, liquid phase penetrated into the boundary of the modified GTD111 powder and solid particle separated from powder was melted easily because area of reaction was increased. With increasing mixing ratio of the modified GTD111, it needed the higher temperature to melt all of the modified GTD111 powder. During Transient Liquid Phase bonding using the mixed powder composed of the modified GTD111 50wt% and GNi3 50wt% as insert metal, width of the bonded interlayer was increased with increasing bonding temperature by reaction of the base metal and liquid phase in insert metal. Dissolution of the base metal and modified powder by liquid phase progressed all together and after all of the powder was melted nearly, the dissolution of the base metal occurred quickly.

From the present paper researched about the Design of Image Rejection SSB Modulator for X-Band Monopulse RADAR using Waveguide Hybrid Coupler. Generally, SSB modulator mixes IF(RF) and LO signals, and then it converts to RF(IF) frequency band. In this case, in order to transmit one sideband from RF band, SSB modulator is demanded the removal of image and LO signal. The balanced mixer was designed using waveguide hybrid coupler and crystal mixer diode to mix LO and IF signal. And also the IF Amplifier was designed for IF(+) and IF(-) signal generation which have $90^{\circ}$ phase differences which are suitable in two crystal mixer diode inputs. In order to maintain a high electric reliability from high frequency band the waveguide and IF amplifier's case were manufactured with aluminum using deep brazing techniques. The test result of SSB modulator, LO and sideband signal rejection ratio were 14.2dB and 18.5dB respectively.
Inner Structured and Bonded(ISB) panel, a kind of metallic sandwich panel, consists of two thin skin plates bonded to a micro-patterned inner structure. Its overall thickness is $1\~3mm$and it has attractive properties such as ultra-lightweight, high efficiency in stiffness-to-weight and strength-to-weight ratio. In many previous studies, resistance welding, brazing and adhesive bonding are studied for joining the panel. However these methods did not consider productivity, but focused on structural characteristics of joined panels, so that the joining process is very complicated and expensive. In this paper, a new joining process with resistance welding is developed. Curved surface electrodes are used to consider the productivity and the stopper is used between electrodes during welding time to maintain the shape of inner structure. Welding time, gap of electrodes and distance between welding points are selected as the process parameters. By measuring the tensile load with respect to the variation of welding time and gap of electrodes, proper welding conditions are studied. Welding time is proper between 1.5-2.5cycle. If welding time is too long, then inner structures are damaged by overheating. Gap of electrode should be shorter than threshold value fur joint strength, when total thickness of inner structure and skin plate is 3.3mm, the threshold distance is 3.0mm.

The mixing ratio effect of the GTD-111(base metal) powder and the GNI-3 (Ni-l4Cr-9.5Co-3.5Al-2.5B) powder on TLP(Transient Liquid Phase) bonding phenomena and mechanism was investigated. At the mixing ratio of the base metal powder under $50wt\%$, the base metal powders fully melted at the initial time and a large amount of the base metal near the bonded interlayer was dissolved by liquid inter metal. Liquid insert metal was eliminated by isothermal solidification which was controlled by the diffusion of B into the base metal. The solid phases in the bonded interlayer grew epitaxially from the base metal near the bonded interlayer inward the insert metal during the isothermal solidification. The number of grain boundaries farmed at the bonded interlayer corresponded with those of base metal. At the mixing ratio above $60wt\%$, the base metal powder melted only at the surface of the powder and the amount of the base metal dissolution was also less at the initial time. Nuclear of solids firmed not only from the base metal near the bonded interlayer but also from the remained base metal powder in the bonded interlayer. Finally, the polycrystal in the bonded interlayer was formed when the isothermal solidification finished. When the isothermal solidification was finished, the contents of the elements in the boned interlayer were approximately equal to those of the base metal. Cr-W borides and Cr-W-Ta-Ti borides formed in the base metal near the bonded interlayer. And these borides decreased with the increasing of holding time.

In this study, a silane-based coating was applied to improve corrosion resistance and thermal efficiency performance of a brazed plate heat exchanger (BPHE) composed of stainless plate and copper (Cu) brazing. Although the selected coating material was applied to the BPHE by evaluating the corrosion and contact angle according to the coating material, the result of the heat transfer performance evaluation showed that the thermal efficiency was lower than that of the uncoated BPHE. It was analyzed that the adhesion of the coating agent to the flow path inside the BPHE and the residual coating agent on the surface acted as heat resistance, preventing heat transfer. This is due to the structural characteristics of the BPHE in which a fine flow path exists inside, and it is believed that manufacturing after coating the surface of the flow path in advance in the manufacturing process of the BPHE can improve heat transfer performance.
On the Transient Liquid Phase Bonding (TLPB) phenomenon with the MBF-50 insert metal at narrow gap (under 100), it takes long time for the bonding and the homogenizing. Typically, isothermal solidification is controlled by the diffusion of depressed element of B and Si. However, the amount of B and Si in the MBF-50 filler metal is large. This is reason of the long bonding time. Also, the MBF-50 filler metal did not contained Al and Ti which are ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ phases former. This is reason of the long homogenizing time. From the bonding phenomenon with the MBF-50 insert metal, we search main factors on the bonding mechanism and select several insert-metals for using the wide-gap TLPB. New insert-metals contained Al and Ti which are ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ phases former and decrease the B then the MBF-50. When the new insert-metal was used on the TLPB, the bonding time was decreased about 1/10 times and homogenizing heat treatment was no needed. In spite of the without homogenizing, the volume fraction of ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ phases in the boned interlayer was equal to homogenizing heat treated specimen which was TLPB with the MBF-50. Finally, the new insert metal named WG1 for the wide-gap TLPB is more efficient then the MBF-50 filler metal without decreasing the bonding characteristic.

A variable vacuum capacitor (VVC), which is a variable element, is used to match impedance in plasma that changes with various impedance values, and its use is expanding with the rapid growth of the semiconductor business. Since VVCs have to secure insulation performance and vary capacitance within a compact size, electrode design and manufacturing are very important; thus, various technologies such as part design and manufacturing technology and vacuum brazing technology are required. In this study, based on the model of an advanced foreign company that is widely used for impedance matching in the manufacture of semiconductors and displays, a VVC that can realize the same performance was developed. The electrode part was designed, the consistency was confirmed through analysis, and the precision of capacitance was improved by designing a cup-type electrode to secure the concentricity of the electrode. As a result of the evaluation, all requirements was satisfied. We believe that self-development will be possible if satisfactory responses are received through evaluation by VVC consumers in the future.
