0.04% Gd-이상 스테인레스 강의 부식 및 마모성에 대한 집합조직 효과 (Effect of Texture on the Corrosion and Wear Behaviors of 0.04% Gd-Duplex Stainless Steels)

  • 0.04% Gd-duplex stainless steels (Gd-DSTSs) for neutron absorbing materials were inert arc-melted and poured into a Y-shape block with the size of $100{\times}100{\times}20[mm]$. The Gd-DSTS was hot rolled at $1200^{\circ}C$ followed by cold rolling to have 33% reduction. The average grain sizes of the rolling (RD), transverse (TD) and short transverse (ST) directions were 6, 7, $11{\mu}m$, respectively. The micro-hardnesses of the RD, TD and ST directions were 258.5, 292.3, 314.7 $H_V$, respectively. Corrosion potential and corrosion rate of the cold rolled Gd-duplex stainless steel in aerated artificial sea water and 0.1M $H_2SO_4$ solution were $0.2216V_{SHE}$, $0.0106A/cm^2$, $-0.0825V_{SHE}$, $0.0168A/cm^2$ for RD, $0.2210V_{SHE}$, $0.0077A/cm^2$, $0.0817V_{SHE}$, $0.0092A/cm^2$ for TD, $0.1056V_{SHE}$, $0.0059A/cm^2$, $0.0475V_{SHE}$, $0.0069A/cm^2$ for ST, respectively. The corrosion behavior depended on the texture, which were due to mainly grain boundary and minorly crystallographic texture. Friction coefficient and wear resistance were 2.07 and 0.48 mm, respectively.

Tribology Characteristics in 300 μm of Hexagonal Array Dimple Pattern

  • In the tribological performance of materials, a textured surface reduces the friction coefficient and wear. This study investigates the effects of a pattern of 300 µm dimples in a hexagonal array on the tribological characteristics. Previous studies investigated 200 µm dimples by using a similar material and method. There are three frictional conditions based on the Stribeck curve: boundary friction, mixed friction, and fluid friction. In this experiment, we investigated the frictional characteristics by conducting frictional tests at sliding speeds ranging from 9.6 rpm to 143.3 rpm and a normal load ranging from 13.6 N to 92 N. We used a photolithography method to create dimples for surface texturing. We used five specimens with different dimple densities 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30% in this study. The dimple density on the surface area is one of the important factors affecting the friction characteristics. The duty number graph indicates a fully developed fluid friction regime. Fluid friction occurs at a velocity of 28.7-143.3 rpm. We observed the best performance at a dimple density of 10% and a dimple diameter of 300 µm in the hexagonal array, the lowest friction coefficient at 0.0037 with 9.6 rpm 9.6N load, and the maximum friction coefficient at 0.0267 with 143.3 rpm 92N load.

바이오디젤 윤활성 향상 메커니즘 (Mechanism of Lubricity Improvement by Biodiesels)

  • As an alternative fuel, biodiesel has excellent lubricating property. Previously, our research group reported that the properties of biodiesels depended on their composed molecular structure. In this study, we investigate lubricity and the mechanism of lubricity improvement of synthesized biodiesel molecules. We synthesize four types of biodiesel components from fatty acid via fisher esterification and soybean biodiesel from soybean oil via transesterification in high yield (92-96%). We analyze the lubricity of the five 5 types of biodiesel using HFRR (high frequency reciprocating rig). We estimate that the mechanism of lubricity is relevant to the molecular structure and structure conversion of biodiesel. The test results indicate that the longer the length of molecules and the higher the content of olefin, the better the lubricity of the biodiesel molecules. However, the wear scar size of the first test samples’ do not show a regular pattern with the wear scar size of the second test samples’. Moreover, we investigated the structure conversion of the biodiesels by using GC-MS for the recovered biodiesel samples from the HFRR test. However, we do not detect structure conversion. Thus, we conclude that the lubricity of biodiesel depends on how effectively solid adsorption and boundary lubrication occurs based on the size of the molecule and the content of olefin in the molecule. In addition, HFRR test condition in not sufficient for Diels-Alder cyclization of biodiesel components.

오일 함침된 나노 기공 산화알루미늄 필름의 마찰 거동 (Friction Behavior of Oil-enriched Nanoporous Anodic Aluminum Oxide Film)

  • Friction behavior of nanoporous anodic aluminum oxide(AAO) film was investigated. A 60 ${\mu}m$ thick AAO film having nanopores of 45 nm diameter with 105 nm interpore-diatance was fabricated by mild anodization process. The AAO film was then saturated with paraffinic oil. Reciprocating ball-on-flat sliding friction tests using 1 mm diameter steel ball as the counterpart were carried out with normal load ranging from 0.1 N to 1 N in an ambient environment. The morphology of worn surfaces were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy. The friction coefficient significantly increased with the increase of load. The boundary lubrication layer of paraffinic oil contributed to the lower friction at relatively low load (0.1 N), but it is less effective at high load (1 N). Plastic deformed layer patches were formed on the worn surface of oil-enriched AAO at relatively low load (0.1 N) without evidence of tribochemical reaction. On the other hand, thick tribolayers were formed on the worn surface of both oil-enriched and as-prepared AAO at relatively high load (1 N) due to tribochemical reaction and material transfer.

함침 오일 점도에 따른 나노동공 구조의 산화알루미늄 박막의 마찰 및 마멸 거동 (Tribological Influence of Kinematic Oil Viscosity Impregnated in Nanopores of Anodic Aluminum Oxide Film)

  • 본 연구는 직경 45 nm인 원통형 나노동공을 가진 산화알루미늄(AAO) 박막에 오일을 함침시켰을때 동점도가 마찰 마멸에 미치는 영향을 규명하고자 실시하였다. 양극산화법으로 제조한 AAO 박막을 직경 1 mm의 440C 스테인리스 강구를 상대재로 하여 왕복동 미끄럼 접촉시험을 실시하였다. 마찰면과 마멸입자는 주사전자현미경과 에닥스(Energy-dispersive X-ray)를 이용해 분석하였다. 높은 동점도 오일의 윤활효과가 저점도 오일에 비해 크게 향상되었다. 동점도가 낮은 경우엔 모든 하중조건에서 심한 마찰흔적과 함께 두꺼운 소성변형층이 넓게 형성되었으며 경계윤활막의 손상으로 접촉면에 물질전이와 화학적 반응 현상이 모두 발생하였다. 오일의 점도가 높은 경우 마찰면에 존재하는 경계윤활막이 파괴되지 않아 마찰흔적과 소성변형층의 형성이 매우 적었으며 물질전이와 화학적 반응이 방지되었다.

마그네시아 양이 질화규소의 마모거동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of amount of magnesia on wear behavior of silicon nitride)

  • 세라믹 복합체의 미세구조는 이차상의 종류 및 양, 소결 조제, 그리고 소결 조건(즉, 소결온도, 압력, 유지시간)에 영향을 받는다. 또한, 내마모 특성은 미세구조와 작업 조건이 내마모 특성에 크게 영향을 미친다. 본 실험에서는 질화규소에 마그네시아의 양을 변화시켜 가압 소결(Hot Press) 방법으로 시편을 제조하였다. 마그네시아 양에 따른 미세구조, 기계적 특성(경도, 강도, 파괴인성), 그리고 다양한 분위기(공기, 물, paraffin oil)에서의 내마모 특성을 조사하였다. 질화규소에 마그네시아의 양이 증가하였을 때, 입계의 유리상이 $\beta$-상의 장주형 입자를 커지게 하고, 또한 Hertzian contact damage를 저하시킨다. 대기 중에서 내마모 거동은 강도뿐만 아니라 파괴인성과 관련이 있고, 물과 paraffin oil에서는 경도와 밀접하다. 물속에서 마모시험 중 많은 유리상이 물과 반응하는 것을 생각할 수 있다. 그러므로 마찰 화학적 반응(tribochemical reaction)은 마모도 저하시킨다. Paaraffin oil에서 높은 하중을 부하할 경우, Hertzian contact damage 때문에 초기 마모가 마모량에 지배적이다.

MoO3가 첨가된 Cr2O3 플라즈마 용사코팅의 고온 마찰 마멸 특성 (Friction and Wear Properties of Plasma-sprayed Cr2O3-MoO3 Composite Coatings at High Temperature)

  • 산화몰리브덴($MoO_3$)이 첨가된 산화크롬 용사코팅층을 제조하여 산화몰리브덴의 첨가에 따른 고온(450$^{\circ}C$)에서의 플라즈마 용사코팅층에 마찰, 마멸특성을 조사하였다. 마찰, 마멸 특성에 대한 실험을 위하여 왕복동 마멸시험장치를 사용하였다. TEM을 이용하여 코팅층의 미세 구조와 각 상들의 조성을 살펴보았다. 분석 결과에 의하면 산화몰리브덴이 입계로 분산되어 있어 코팅층의 경도와 밀도의 증가가 발생하였다. 마멸시험후 마멸면의 물리적 변화와 화학적 조성의 변화를 SEM와 XPS를 통하여 살펴보았다. 산화몰리브덴이 첨가된 코팅층에서 마찰계수의 감소를 관찰할 수 있었다. 산화몰리브덴이 첨가된 코팅의 마멸된 표면에 마찰, 마멸에 유리한 보호막의 형성이 광범위하게 일어남을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 보호막에 몰리브덴이 산화몰리브덴의 형태로 존재하는 것을 XPS 분석을 통하여 알 수 있었다. 보호막에 산화몰리브덴의 존재가 마찰계수를 감소시키는 것으로 생각된다.

메탄올 첨가에 따른 Ni 기반 합금의 트라이볼로지 특성 변화에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Assessment of the Methanol Addition Effect on the Tribological Characteristics of Ni-based Alloy)

  • Currently, the demand for green technologies toward a sustainable future is rapidly increasing due to growing concern over environmental issues. Methanol is biodegradable and can provide clean combustion to reduce sulfur oxide and nitrogen oxide emissions, and therefore it is a candidate fuel for marine engines. However, the effect of methanol on tribological characteristic degradation should be addressed for methanol-fueled engines. In this study, the methanol addition effects on tribological characteristic degradation is experimentally assessed using a pin-on-disk tribo-tester. Ni-based alloy is used as a target material due to its broad applicability as an engine component material. For a lubricant, engine oil with and without methanol are used. The tests are conducted for up to 10,000 cycles under boundary lubrication while the change in friction force is monitored. Additionally, the wear rate is determined based on laser scanning confocal microscope data. An additional test in which methanol is added at regular intervals is performed with an aim to directly observe its effect on friction. Overall, the friction coefficient increases slightly with increasing methanol concentration. Furthermore, the wear rate of the pin and disk increase significantly with methanol addition. The results also indicate that the friction increases instantaneously with methanol addition at the contacting interface. These findings may be useful for better understanding the methanol effect on the tribological characteristics of Ni-based alloys for methanol-fueled engines with improved performance.

  • We report results on microtribological studies of chemically grafted nanoscale polymer layers of different architecture with thickness below 30 nm. We have fabricated the molecular lubrication coatings from elastomeric tri-block copolymers and tested two different designs of corresponding nanocomposite coatings. We observed a significant reduction of friction forces and an increase of the wear stability when a minute amount of oil was trapped within the grafted polymer layer. These polymer gel layers exhibited a very steady friction response and a small value of the coefficient of friction as compared to the initial polymer coating. A polymer 'triplex' coating has been formed by a multiple grafting technique. The unique design of this layer Includes a hard-soft-hard architecture with a compliant rubber interlayer mediating localized stresses transferred through the topmost hard layer. This architecture provides a non-linear mechanical response under a normal compression stress and allows additional dissipation of mechanical energy via the elastic rubber interlayer.

  • The purpose of this study is to grasp the world of Galliano works who lead Dior Couture and to make use of this knowledge to comprehension of general trend in Haute Couture and $pr{\hat{e}}t-{\acute{a}}$-porter in the future. The method of research is to search for the characteristic of Haute Couture and the general tendency of Galliano works, and to view the inclination of Dior Couture by Galliano. For sphere of research, 2000s is discussed with focus on Haute Couture, exclusive of ready-to-wear. As a result, Galliano's Couture works were distinguished into four specificities. First, the historicity including historical event, personage and epoch. Second, the orientalism. Third, the pictorial characteristic including synthetic art and public art. Forth, the quality of humor. These subjects bring about a result that break down each boundary, in the method of interpreting, as try out mixing between every elements. Galliano pursue a new domain through the fusion of East and West, past and present, classic and pop, artistry and commercialism, this induce more familiar Haute Couture to the public, breaking the strict form of Couture. It seems that this tendency will be advanced toward extrovert Couture producing the low-age phenomenon in Couture, the mixture of multi-culture and the vitality. This fusion suggest the popularity and the commerciality of Couture, which is predicted decrease the difference between Couture and $pr{\hat{e}}t-{\acute{a}}$-porter.
