Purpose: This study explored the relationship between product characteristics and customer purchase intention in cross-border online shopping. Research design, data, and methodology: Through literature review, the research model of product characteristics and consumers' purchase intention is constructed, and trust is taken as a medium variable. Based on the survey data of Chinese consumers, empirical analysis and hypothesis verification are conducted. This study used SPSS version 21 to confirm the reliability and validity of the research model. To confirm the media effect of the model in this study, the Sobel Test was used. Results: The results of hypothesis identification of this research model showed that 8 of the 11 hypotheses were adopted and 3 were rejected. Results confirmed the relationship between product characteristics (specification, diversity, reputation, novelty, quality) and customer purchase intention. Conclusions: The result from this study had particular theoretical significance for improving the research on cross-border online shopping systems to improve the safety and satisfaction of customers in cross-border online shopping.

The study aimed to identify the impact of the application of technical equipment for infrastructure to achieve the quality of e-learning for students in the faculties at Northern Border University, in Arar city. The study applied the analytical survey study method. To achieve the study purpose, the researcher prepared a study tool which is a questionnaire to measure the impact o of applying technical instrument for the infrastructure to achieve the quality of e-learning for students. The study sample size reached (218) students from both groups from the university faculties in Arar city. The results of the study revealed a tendency in the study sample's responses to the availability of the majority of the questionnaire criteria significantly. This indicates the positive impact of the application of technical equipment on the infrastructure to achieve the application quality of e-learning at Northern Border University, the study recommended the following: The need to pay attention to measuring the quality of electronic courses every two years in addition to the need to adjust the quality standards of e-content provided through e-learning platforms. Also, there is the gradual application of e-learning at the university in addition to spreading the culture of e-learning quality among all groups of the university community. Also, it is necessary to direct them towards benefiting from the advantages of e-learning that observes quality standards.

This study observes the language attitude and maintenance of the border community in Telok Melano, Lundu (Sarawak, Malaysia) and Desa Temajuk, Sambas (West Kalimantan, Indonesia). The main objective of this study is to study the language attitudes of two cross-border community who shares the socio-cultural, language, and economic realms. The research data is collected qualitatively through conversation recordings, face-to-face interviews, and participant observations. In this preliminary study, twelve informants (six from Telok Melano and six from Desa Temajuk) were chosen based on the quota sampling method. The questions for the interview were set according to three characteristics of language choice proposed by Garvin and Mathiot (1968), namely language loyalty, language pride, and the awareness of norms. The result of this study indicates that language loyalty, language pride, and awareness of the norms towards the speakers' mother tongue and national language are relatively high. In terms of identity maintenance issues, this study found that the community in Telok Melano (Sarawak), originally identify themselves as "Sambas Malays," shifted to "Sarawak Malays" after the formation of Malaysia in 1963. This preliminary study serves as a basis for further research particularly on the complexity of issues concerned with the border communities in the Southwest of Sarawak.

A piecewise smooth system is characterized by non-differentiability on a curve in the phase space. In this paper, we discuss particular bifurcation phenomena in the dynamics of a piecewise smooth system. We consider a two-dimensional piecewise smooth system which is composed of a linear map and a nonlinear map, and analyze the stability of the system to determine the existence of dangerous border-collision bifurcation. We finally present some numerical examples of the bifurcation phenomena in the system.

This paper focuses on the recent extraordinary growth of Chinese cross-border online shopping and draws implications for firm strategies and government policies in Korea to utilize the phenomenon as an opportunity to expand into a broader market via e-commerce exports. I conduct a survey of Chinese cross-border online consumers to identify constraining and determining factors during the stages of their purchase decisions of Korean products. Given the fact that Chinese cross-border online shopping is at the incipient stage and consumers have expressed a strong intent to repurchase, future strategies should focus on attracting new consumers. Accordingly, Korean firms should build a powerful brand image, improve product quality and post-purchase services, and take full advantage of the popularity of the Korean Wave. Meanwhile, the government must step up policy efforts by, for instance, improving e-commerce export statistics, simplifying logistics and clearance procedures, and building trust in Chinese consumers.

Even with the sizable Foreign Exchange (FX) holdings and good credit ratings of its top assets, Asia remains vulnerable to various shocks. This paper highlights the limited cross-border asset pledgeability as a significant factor for the lingering vulnerability in Asia. The dichotomy in asset holdings between pledgeable FX and non-pledgeable domestic assets in major economies in Asia has been the source of increasing stabilization costs as well as weakened market momentum in the region. Specifically, the peculiar feature of asset holdings in Asia reflects seriously deficient cross-border asset pledgeability that is left unaddressed. Asset pledgeability contributes toward financial stability via three channels: 1) capital market development by recognizing the role of collateral, 2) increased shock absorption capacity via collateral management, 3) and the newly activated safe asset provision. Therefore, it is crucial to go beyond the usual market development strategy and expand the overall asset pledgeability in the region that has remained unduly depressed.

An experiment was conducted to investigate the pit structure of four kind of pine wood species grown in Korea. Torus diameter, margo width, margo lattice size, diameter of pit aperture and pit border width were taken under consideration for explaining the pit structure difference among Pinus densiflora, Pinus rigida, Pinus koraiensis and Larix kaempferi. Torus diameter was found highest in Pinus rigida and the lowest in Pinus densiflora. Margo lattice size varied with torus diameter. Wider torus lowered the margo lattice size. Highest margo width was found in Pinus rigida while the lowest one was found in Pinus koraiensis. Pit aperture diameter was found highest in Pinus densiflora and lowest in Pinus koraiensis. In Pinus rigida, pit border was found the highest and the lowest was found in Larix kaempferi. Pit aperture diameter and pit border were increased gradually from pith to bark while there was a decreasing trend in the margo lattice size measuring from the pith to bark.

The recent listing of Preah Vihear Temple as a World Heritage Site has awakened a longtime simmering border dispute between Thailand and Cambodia over a few square kilometers surrounding the ancient Khmer Temple. While the listing of the site by UNESCO was expected to revive the economy of the impoverished border towns near the temple due to the increased tourism and funding for the preservation of the archeological site, it has had the opposite effect due to the sharp increase in violent conflict carried out by the armed forces and nationalist activists from both sides. Military skirmishes and violent protests have brought the local economy to a halt in addition to causing considerable physical damage to the local infrastructure and to the local transnational network of ethnic Kui, local business owners, Khmer and Thai villagers. This paper shows how the dispute is viewed and undertaken by three distinct communities involved in the conflict, the militaries, the metropolitan political elites and activists, and the local villagers. The three communities represent three different cultures of conflict with different interests and most importantly with differential access to the media and official representations of the dispute.

The study aimed to analyze the reality of the scientific publishing of the faculty members of the Northern Border University, in both the Web of Science database and the SCOPUS database, with the analysis of publishing indicators and trends for the period between 2008-2020, and the researcher's keenness to apply the bibliometric study research methodology to obtain an account Full and detailed publications indicators under the two databases, including a full analysis of scientific publishing through objective, temporal, quantitative, authors, languages, open access journals, information forms, the most productive authors, the most published scientific journals, the most scientific bodies involved with the university. The study found results, the most important of which is the existence of a high increase in scientific publishing, starting from 2015, with an increase in publishing in the scientific field compared to other disciplines, and that the vast majority of publishing is in the form of articles, as well as publishing in English for the rest of the languages.

The study aimed to analyze the current situation of the electronic portal of the Northern Border University, in terms of content and components, the extent of quality of use, service assurance and integrity, linguistic coverage of objective content, in addition to assessing the efficiency of the Blackboard e-learning platform and measuring the degree of safety of the portal, in addition to measuring the extent of satisfaction, through a sample that included 135 faculty members, as the researcher was keen to apply the case study methodology with the use of the questionnaire as the main tool for measurement, and the study found that there is an average trend among faculty members in the degree of content for the components of the portal and electronic security While it rose to good use, and very good at using the Blackboard platform.
