  • Boiler design should be desinged to maximize thermal efficiency of the system under imposed load requirement and a boiler should be validated for transient operation. If a proper prediction is possible on the transient behavior and transient characteristics of a boiler, one may asses the performance of boiler component, control logics and operation procedures. In this work, dynamic modeling method of boiler is presented and dynamic simulation of load runback scenario was carried out on suprecritical oil-firing boiler.

  • 석탄화력발전소의 보일러계통은 구성기기 사이에 수많은 상호관계를 갖는 대규모, 비선형 계통이다. 이러한 복잡한 계통의 해석에서 동특성 모의는 대규모 상호관계를 지속적으로 추적하는 강력한 방법으로 인식되고 있다. 보일러계통은 공기/가스 시스템과 물/증기 시스템으로 구성된다. 보일러의 오염물질 배출에 관한 최근 환경규제의 강화와 보일러의 물성치에 대한 설게 검증 요건 때문에 상업용 프로그램이 보일러 계통의 해석에 사용된다. 이 논문에서는 모의 도구로써 EPRI(미국전기연구소)에서 개발한 MMS를 사용하여 모델개발을 논의하였다. MMS에서 사용하여 개발된 모델은 한국표준석탄화력발전소의 보일러 연소계통에 대한 설계 및 현장데이터를 시험하였다. 개발된 모델은 정상상태 및 천이상태 조건에서 ${\pm}$5% 이내로 연소계통이 잘 응답하는 것으로 결과에서 보여준다. 이 논문에서 연소계통의 해석에 대한 개발된 모델은 일반적일고, 어떤 형식의 석탄호력발전소에도 적용이 가능하다.

100 MWe급 순산소연소 발전소 보일러계통 공정설계 및 운전변수 민감도 예측 (100 MWe Oxyfuel Power Plant Boiler System Process Design and Operation Parameters Sensitivity Analysis)

  • The oxy-fuel combustion is $CO_2$ capture technology that uses mixture of pure $O_2$ and recirculated exhaust as oxidizer. Currently some Oxy-fuel power plants demonstration project is underway in worldwide. Meanwhile research project for converting 125 MWe Young-Dong power plant to 100 MWe oxy-fuel power plants is progress. In this paper, 1 D process analytical approach was applied for conducting process design and operating parameters sensitivity analysis for oxy-fuel combustion of Young-Dong power plant. As a result, appropriate gas recirculation rates was 74.3% that in order to maintain normal rating superheater, reheater steam temperature and boiler heat transfer patterns. And boiler efficiency 85.0%, CPU inlet $CO_2$ mole concentration 71.34% was predicted for retrofitted boiler. The oxygen concentration in the secondary recycle gas is predicted as 27.1%. Meanwhile the oxygen concentration 22.4% and moisture concentration 5.3% predicted for primary recycle gas. As the primary and secondary gas recirculation increases, then heat absorption of the reheater is tends to increases whereas superheater side is decreased, and also the efficiency is tends to decrease, according to results of sensitivity analysis for operating parameters. In addition, the ambient air ingression have a tendency to lead to decline of efficiency for boiler as well as decline of $CO_2$ purity of CPU inlet.

  • This paper describes the proceedings of creating countermeasures after analysis and maintenance be able to conduct operation safely in a power plant. in order to operate the power plant in a stable and reliable way, the best condition of the govemor system can be maintained through the response characteristic analysis of the control device for the pitch blade control hydraulic actuator. The fan pitch blade control hydraulic actuator of a 500MW large-scale boiler is frequently operated under normal operation conditions. Common problems or malfunctions of the pitch blade control hydraulic actuators leads to the decline of boiler thermal efficiency and unexpected power plant trip. The inlet and outlet gas can be controlled by using the fan pitch blade control hydraulic actuator in order to regulate the internal pressure of the furnace and control the frequency in the power plant facility which utilizes soft coals as a power source.

  • The welding technology for production of power plant facility as for other industries has been progressing forward automation and mechanization for cost reduction and shortening of cycle time. The welding for boiler tube is automated or mechanized as the parts and subassemblies of tubes are conveyed automatically in the shop. The temperature of boiler stearn is being progressively increased for higher plant efficiency. The welding of nuclear component is characterized by heavy thickness and narrow gap Submerged Arc Welding. Narrow gap Gas Metal Arc Welding and Electron Beam Welding is applied to turbine diaphragm. To improve the resistance of solid particle erosion of turbine blade and nozzle partition, HVOF spray technology and boriding process has been applied.

증기 원동소의 엑서지 손실에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Exergy Losses of Steam Power Plant)

  • The purpose of this paper is to obtain enthalpy balance and exergy analysis for the energy losses in a steam power plant. The enthalpy and exergy analysis of the steam power plant were carried out on the various output of steam turbine. While enthalpy analysis shows that circulating loss in the condenser is maximum, exergy evaluation of the power plant shows that the losses of the boiler and turbine are considerably larger than those of condenser and feed water heater. Most irreversible losses of the power plant occur at the boiler. For improving the performance, the precise study about the irreversible losses of the boiler is necessary.

  • This paper is investigated on the improvement for steam temperature control at Boryung coal-fired drum boiler type thermal power plant. The steam temperatur control has been mainly operated by the feedback controllers. Automatic controllers are bounded and difficult. Because boiler system is nonlinear and the system time delay is very large. Optimal regulators including predictive feedforward and differentiate control are synthesized and some improved output results are presented.

  • The effect of recirculated exhaust gas on performance and exhaust emissions with FGR rate are investigated by using a natural circulation, pressurized draft and water tube boiler with FGR system operating at several boiler loads and over fire air(OFA) damper openings. The purpose of this study is to apply the FGR system to a power plant boiler for reducing $NO_{x}$ emissions. To activate the combustion, the suction damper of two stage combustion system installed in the upper side of wind box is opened by handling the lever between $0^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$ , and the OFA with 0 to 20% into the flame is supplied, as the combustion air supplied to burner is reduced. It is found that the fuel consumption rate divided by evaporation rate does not show an obvious tendency to increase or decrease with rising the FOR rate, and $NO_{x}$ emissions are decreased, at the same OF A damper opening, as FOR rates are elevated and boiler loads are dropped.
