Crystal Growth of Nd;YCOB and Fabrication of RGB Laser Device (Nd:YCOB 단결정 성장과 RGB 레이저 소자 제조)

  • Nd/sub 0.05/Y/sub 0.95/Ca₄O(BO₃)₃(Nd:YCOB) single crystals were grown by the Czochralski method using a iridium crucible under N₂ atmosphere. Optimum growth parameters to get high quality of single crystals were 1.5∼2 mm/hr of growth rate and 10∼20 rpm of rotation rate. The grown crystals were transparent with light purple color and well-developed in cleavage planes. The crystal structure of Nd;YCOB were identified to monoclinic by XRD method. Crystal defects acting as light scattering centers, such as micro-pores, secondary phases, inclusions and cracks were not observed under the He-Ne laser illuminations. Three red, green, blue laser devices for the RGB laser oscillations were designed and then fabricated from the grown Nd:YCOB crystals according to the phase-matching angles of negative type-I which were φ=16.40°, 33.95° and θ=22.59° with the flatness of λ/6 at least, respectively.

Effect of Annealing Temperature on the Luminescence of Si Nanocrystallites Thin Films Prepared by Pulsed Laser Deposition (펄스 레이저 증착법으로 성장된 실리콘 박막의 어닐링 온도 변화에 따른 발광 특성연구)

  • Si thin films on p-type (100) Si substrate have been prepared by a pulsed laser deposition technique using a Nd:YAG laser. The pressure of the environmental gas during deposition was 1 Torr. After deposition, Si thin film has been annealed again at 400-840$^{\circ}C$ in nitrogen ambient. Strong blue photoluminescence (PL) have been observed at room temperature. We report the PL properties of Si thin films with the variation of the annealing temperature.

  • The durability problem of Prussian blue in non-aqueous $Li_+$-based electrolytes has been due to the degradation of the Prussian blue electrode matrix during the insertion/extraction processes by $Li_+$. In this work, we designed and synthesised the Prussian blue without reducing the electrochromic performance in non-aqueous $Li_+$-based electrolytes. Prussian blue was electrodeposited on a glass which has ITO coating, and the coating solution is a mixture solution of $FeCl_3\;and\;K_3Fe(CN)_6$ with deionized water added HCl, KCl, and LiCl, respectively. The durability of Prussian blue was evaluated by an in-situ transmittance measurement during a continuous and pulse potential cycling test, and measured by electroactive layer thickness due to evaluating the degradation.

  • Cut-off filters would reject all the radiation below and transmit all that above a certain wavelength or vice versa. In this paper, we study design and farbrication of dichroic mirror and broadband high reflective mirror for color separation of white laser beam source to R.G.B color beam source. In laser display system, color separation is very important. We fabricated below specific component for finite color separation of the Kr-Ar laser source. At 45$^{\circ}$ incidence s-polarized light , it is required that - H/R in blue region R>99%, H/T in green and red region T>90% - H/R in green and red region R>99%, H/T in blue region T>90% - H/R in green region R>99%, H/T in red region T>90% We composed the optical system and realize the full color image.

  • One most feasible way to measure the concentration field in the micro-channel is using micro-LIF(Laser Induced Fluorescence) method. However, an accurate concentration field at a given cross plane in a micro-channel has not been successfully achieved so far due to various limitations in the light illumination and fluorescence signal detection. The present study demonstrates a novel method to provide an ultra thin laser sheet beam having five(5) microns thickness by use of a micro focus laser line generator. The laser sheet beam illuminates an exact plane of concentration measurement field to increase the signal to noise ratio and considerably reduce the depth uncertainty. Nile Blue A was used as fluorescent dye for the present LIF measurement. The enhancement of the fluorescent intensity signals was performed by a solvent mixture of water $(95\%)$ and ethanol (EtOH)/methanol (MeOH) $(5\%)$ mixture. To reduce the rms errors resulted from the CCD electronic noise and other sources, an expansion of grid size was attempted from $1\times1$ to 3(3 or 5(5 pixel data windows and the pertinent signal-to-noise level has been noticeably increased accordingly.

All-fiber RGB Laser Light Source of Head-up Display System for Automobile Application

  • We developed an all-fiber RGB laser light source module for application in an automobile head-up display. It is based on laser diodes and an optical fiber combiner that substantially enhances the flexibility of configuration and stability against harsh working conditions for automobiles. We coupled 13 laser diodes with optical fibers and merged them into a single output with a beam combiner device. Red (R), green (G), and blue (B) laser sources were employed to produce primary colors that were mixed into a white light output. An optical output power of approximately 1.5 W was achieved, and the color balance of the output lights was assessed based on the CIE 1931 color space. The optical output power was shown to be stable for over 160 h within an optical fluctuation of less than 0.27%.

  • From a CCRF-excited zinc vapour laser with overlapped DC-discharge were emitted following 6 laser lines: two blue at 491.162[nm] and 492.403[nm], an orange at 589.433[nm] and three infrared lines at 747.879[nm], 758.848[nm] and 773.25[nm]. The discharge parameters were determined for an optimal laser operation. At a RF-power of 400[W] with the frequency 13.56[MHz] the optimal temperature of the oven lay between 780[K] and 800[K], the He-pressure between 3.5[kPa] and 5.5[kPa].

  • 색소레이저의 효율과 출력 증가를 위한 연구에서 보다 강력한 펌핑 광원의 개발에 주로 많은 관심을 기울이고 있다. 그러나 본 연구에서는 펌핑광의 스펙트럼 전환을 이용하여 청록색레이저의 효율과 출력에너지를 증가 시켰다. 레이저 색소 Coumarin 503을 전환색소 BBQ와 혼합하므로 160% 이상의 청록색레이저의 출력에너지 증가와 61%의 구배 효율 증가를 얻었다.
