염색슬러지 연소재를 이용한 보도블록의 제작과 물성평가 (Manufacture and Characterization of Interlocking Block Using Incineration Ash of Dyeing Wastewater Treatment Sludge)

  • In this study, we carried out the research for the recycling potential of the dyeing wastewater treatment sludges as construction materials. The incineration ash of sludges were solidified as interlocking block in condition of sludge/cement ratio 2.5%, 5.0% and 10%, respectively. Those interlocking blocks were cured for 3days, 7days and 28days in ambient air condition, respectively. The results of this research were summarized as follows: The dyeing wastewater treatment sludges was below the Korea Leaching Limit. After incineration, the ash was manufactured as interlocking block. Bendable strength over 50kg$_{f}$/$\textrm{cm}^2$ suitable for interlocking block was obtained only when the sample was cured for 7days at sludge/cement ratio 2.5% and 5.0%. Hygroscopic ratio of interlocking block was above the Korea Industry Standard. We think that recycling of the incineration ash from dyeing wastewater treatment sludges to interlocking block will have high potential possibility.y.

블록 기반 영역 분할을 이용한 객체 기반 스테레오 정합 기법 (An Object-based Stereo Matching Method Using Block-based Segmentation)

  • 본 논문은 객체 기반 스테레오 정합에 있어서, 분할영역 내부에 존재하는 단계적인 변위의 변화를 추정할 수 있는 스테레오 정합 알고리즘에 관한 것이다. 우산 분할영역을 효과적으로 표현할 수 있는 복수의 샘플점들을 선정한 다음에 각 샘플점 주위에 인접한 영역 내부의 미소영역을 취하여 스테레오 정합을 수행한다. 이후, 선택된 각 샘플점의 변위에 의한 평면의 방정식을 이용하여 내부 변위들을 보간한다. 제안된 방법에 따르면, 샘플점에서 얻어진 변위 값을 영역내부로 전파시킴으로써 깊이 추정이 단지 특징점들에서만 국한되는 특징 기반 기법의 문제점을 해결할 수 있으며, 또한 분할영역의 외곽선에서 샘플점을 추출함으로써 단순 영역에서의 깊이 추정이 모호하게 되는 영역기반 기법의 문제점을 효과적으로 억제시킬 수 있다.

초고속 액체크로마토그래피를 이용한 고춧가루의 capsaicinoids 분석 (Determination of capsaicinoids in red pepper powder using ultra high performance liquid chromatography)

  • 고춧가루의 매운맛을 나타내는 capsaicinoids인 capsaicin과 dihydrocapsaicin을 초고속액체 크로마토그래피로 간편하게 측정하기 위하여 고춧가루의 입도, 추출시간에 따른 추출율 비교하고 환류추출법과 가열블록법을 비교하였다. 환류추출법의 경우 3 시간 추출하는 것이 효율적이었으며 capsaicinoids 추출율은 덜 매운 고춧가루의 경우 입도가 고울수록 높았으나 매운 청량고추의 경우는 추출율이 입도에 영향을 덜 받았다. 시료량을 달리한 경우 용매의 사용을 동일하게하면 시료를 적게 사용하는 것이 추출율이 높았다. 환류추출법으로 3시간 추출한 것은 가열블록법으로 1 시간 추출한 것에 비하여 추출효율이 3-9% 높았으나 품질관리의 목적인 경우 신속간편 방법인 가열블록법으로 고춧가루의 capsaicinoids를 측정하는 것이 가능하였다.

A cadaveric study investigating the spread of injectate following an interspace between the popliteal artery and the capsule of the posterior knee block in a neonatal sample: a pilot study

  • The infiltration of the interspace between the popliteal artery and the capsule of the posterior knee (IPACK) block, is a novel ultrasound-guided technique used for postoperative pain management of the knee. The success of the block is attributed to the spread of injectate between the capsule of the knee and the popliteal artery. This novel technique is believed to target the articular branches of the tibial, common fibular (peroneal) and obturator nerves. However, the extent of the spread in a paediatric population is unknown. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the spread of the IPACK block. Using ultrasound guidance, the IPACK block was replicated bilaterally in neonatal cadavers. Methylene blue dye (0.3 ml/kg) was injected proximally and distally. Subsequently, cadavers were dissected to determine the injectate spread. Proximal injections resulted in staining of some of the articular branches, while the distal injections resulted in staining of all four articular branches. Additional staining of the superior lateral and medial genicular nerves was noted irrespective of the technique. Overall, both injections resulted in posterior, anterolateral spread with limited medial spread. Results from this study reveal preservation of the main nerve trunks following the proximal technique, while the distal technique displayed greater staining of the articular branches. We believe that the block can be seen as a more holistic and viable alternative to lower limb blocks for the paediatric population, as it allows for a wider spread in the posterior and medial-lateral compartments of the knee.

다양한 블럭 크기를 갖는 섹터 캐시 메모리의 Trace-driven 시뮬레이션 알고리즘 (A New trace-driven Simulation Algorithm for Sector Cache Memories with Various Block Sizes)

  • In this paper, a new trace driven simulation algorithm is proposed to evaluate the bus traffic and the miss ration of the various sector cache memories, which have various sub-block sizes and block sizes and associativities and number of sets, with a single pass through an address trace. Trace-driven simulaton is usually used as a method for performance evaluation of sector cache memories, but it spends a lot of simulation time for simulating the diverse cache configurations with a long address trace. The proposed algorithm shortens the simulation time by evaluating the performance of the various sector cache configurations. which have various sub-block sizes and block sizes and associativities and number of sets , with a single pass through an address trace. Our simulation results show that the run times of the proposed simulation algorithm can be considerably reduced than those of existing simulation algorithms, when the proposed algorithm is miplemented in C language and the address traces obtained from the various sample programs are used as a input of trace-driven simulation.

A Content Adaptive Fast PDE Algorithm for Motion Estimation Based on Matching Error Prediction

  • This paper introduces a new fast motion estimation based on estimating a block matching error (i.e., sum of absolute difference (SAD)) between blocks which can eliminate an impossible candidate block much earlier than a conventional partial distortion elimination (PDE) scheme. The basic idea of the proposed scheme is based on predicting the total SAD of a candidate block using its partial SAD. In particular, in order to improve prediction accuracy and computational efficiency, a sub-sample based block matching and a selective pixel-based approaches are employed. In order to evaluate the proposed scheme, several baseline approaches are described and compared. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the computations by about 44% for motion estimation at the cost of 0.0005 dB quality degradation versus the general PDE algorithm.

  • 일반적으로 22.9[kV] 이하의 케이블은 가교폴리에틸렌(XLPE)을 절연체로 사용하고 있다. XLPE내부의 결함으로 인한 사고로 경제적 및 인명피해가 발생한다. 이러한 사고에 대한 처리 기준이 마련이 되어 있지 않아 사고처리의 체계화가 시급히 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 XLPE 케이블의 사고 요인이 되는 전기적 열화현상에 대한 자료구축을 위하여 XLPE에 곡율반경이 $10[{\mu}m]$인 침천극을 삽입하여 절연파괴, 트리형상 및 연면방전 시료를 제작하였다. 단시간 파괴는 AC 60[Hz]의 전압을 1[kV/sec] 상승하였으며, 장기과전의 경우 AC 60[Hz]의 전압을 12[kV] 및 17[kV]를 인가하여 전기적 열화 특성에 대하여 실험을 하였다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 지문인식 평가용 데이터베이스의 난이도(Level of Difficulty)를 지문영상 품질 평가를 통하여 정량화 하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 지문 데이터베이스의 난이도 정량화 방법으로 품질 분포도 분석 방법과 품질 차이 분석 방법을 제안한다. 품질 분포도 분석 방법은 지문 영상의 품진 등급별 빈도수를 기반으로 데이터베이스 전체의 난이도를 표현한 방법이고, 품질 차이 분석 방법은 데이터베이스를 구성하는 동일 지문의 영상들 간의 각 품질 차이별 빈도수를 동시발생 매트릭스(Co-occurrence Matrices)를 이용하여 난이도로 나타낸 방법이다. 두 방법론에 의한 실험 결과 지문영상 품질 기반의 데이터베이스의 난이도는 인식 성능과 상관관계를 가지며, 품질 분포도 기반의 난이도보다 품질 차이 기반의 난이도가 더 높은 상관관계를 보임을 확인할 수 있었다. 특히 MPQ(Matching Pairwise Qualities) 동시발생 매트릭스의 OQ(Opposite Qualities) Block 기반의 난이도 정량화 방법이 인식 성능과 가장 높은 상관관계를 나타내는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 지문영상 품질 기반의 지문 데이터베이스의 난이도를 정량화할 수 있었고, 난이도와 인식성능이 높은 상관관계를 가짐을 알 수 있다.

A Study on the Basic Pattern of Bodice block for Adult Women in China - Focusing on Women in 20s Residing in Beijing and Shanghai -

  • The purpose at this study is to develop the appropriate bodice model for Chinese women in order to contribute to the improvement of fitness at clothing products that are exported to China. The sample group was the subject of 149 persons with the standard body shape at 19-24 years old women who reside in Beijing and Shanghai, China. The data analysis is processed for statistics using SPSSWIN 10.0 PROGRAM, and the used analysis methods are technical statistics analysis, factor analysis, group analysis, and one-way ANOVA. The outcome of this study is summarized as follows. 1. Prior to develop the tight-fitting shape of bodice model, the body classification approach by the posture and type of bending and stretching is selected to use 6 index items, and the body types are classified into bent body, right body, and pull-back body. 2. The average body size of standard body shape had 3 times of wearing experiment based on the tight-fitting shape of ESMOD bodice block drawing, and the system was corrected and supplemented to present the final bodice block drawing. 3. Comparisons have been made based on the center front line, center back line and chest circumference for each of existing bodice block for Chinese women, existing bodice block for Korean women and the combination of the bodice block under this study.

Risk factors for unexpected readmission and reoperation following open procedures for shoulder instability: a national database study of 1,942 cases

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to identify demographics and risk factors associated with unplanned 30-day readmission and reoperation following open procedures for shoulder instability and examine recent trends in open shoulder instability procedures. Methods: The American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS-NSQIP) database was queried using current procedural terminology (CPT) codes 23455, 23460, and 23462 to find patients who underwent shoulder instability surgery from 2015 to 2019. Independent sample Student t-tests and chi-square tests were used in univariate analyses to identify demographic, lifestyle, and perioperative variables related to 30-day readmission following repair for shoulder instability. Multivariate logistic regression modeling was subsequently performed. Results: In total, 1,942 cases of open surgical procedures for shoulder instability were identified. Within our study sample, 1.27% of patients were readmitted within 30 days of surgery, and 0.85% required reoperation. Multivariate logistic regression modeling confirmed that the following patient variables were associated with a statistically significant increase in the odds of readmission: open anterior bone block/Latarjet-Bristow procedure, being a current smoker, and a long hospital stay (all P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression modeling confirmed statistically significant increased odds of reoperation with an open anterior bone block or Latarjet-Bristow procedure (P<0.05). Conclusions: Unplanned 30-day readmission and reoperation after open shoulder instability surgery is infrequent. Patients who are current smokers, have an open anterior bone block or Latarjet-Bristow procedure, or a longer than average hospital stay have higher odds of readmission than others. Patients who undergo an open anterior bone block or Latarjet-Bristow procedure have higher odds of reoperation than those who undergo an open soft-tissue procedure. Level of evidence: III.
