  • Objectives : To understanding biological mechanism of acupuncture therapy, we have proposed a hypothesis. First of all, there exists electric property in meridian and meridian point. Second of all, energy flowing in meridian is related with electric property. Third of all, there is electronic interaction between the operator who performs acupuncture therapy and the receiver who is given acupuncture therapy. Forth of all, acupuncture effects may depend on the electric capacity which is transferred between the operator and the receiver via acupuncture needle. Methods : Under the hypothesis, we studied the effects of electric change in $ST_{37}(+)\;and\;ST_{39}(-)$ generated by Tanchim (彈鍼) manipulation which was stimulated at $ST_{36}$ point. And compared with data on the changes of electric change from the hand of the operator during acupuncture stimulation. Electric charge induced via acupuncture needle from the operator may be important factor that causes the changes of electric change in meridian and acupoint in the receiver. Therefore we investigated the changes of electric charge induced by the operator using Maclab 400 by the following methods. The one was in stable electric circle condition and the other was in unstable electric circle condition. Results : In this experiments, the changes of electric change from the stimulation type of Tanchim manipulation performed in our lab condition in acupuncture therapy was induced at least three factor, one was the difference of bio-potentials between the operator and the receiver of acupuncture therapy, another was the depth of acupuncture insertion from the skin of the receiver, the other was an electromyogram of the receiver. Conclusion : The data imply that the first factor should make a capacitance current when the operator touched the acupuncture needle which was inserted in the receiver. Therefore, the results suggest that capacitance currents stimulus in electronic view may be important factor in acupuncture therapy between the operator and the receiver of acupuncture therapy.

  • In this paper, we present a DNA manipulation device in the reaction chamber, which consists of a center electrode and circular outer electrodes of a reaction unit. The charged bio-molecules, DNA, are manipulated by the charge of the electrode in reaction unit. Controlling the induced dynamic electric field between the center electrode and the outer electrodes, concentration / repulsion / manipulation of bio-molecules are enabled at a periphery of electrode. Concentration of the fluorescent DNA at the center electrode is observed by applying +2V. Subsequently, applying -2V, the concentrated DNA is repelled rapidly from the center electrode, which makes dispersion completely in 0.5second. Furthermore, repeated applying +1V/-1V every 5 seconds at each outer electrode, we can circulate the DNA. We also investigate a micro-heater and sensor for DNA manipulation and reaction temperature. The coefficient of heat-resistance and heater temperature characteristic is 0.0043 and 100$^{\circ}C$/sec, respectively.

  • 23 F/cc grade new type of high density activated carbon from crystalline green cokes type of mesocarbon microbeads has been synthesized by chemical and electrochemical activation. In order for these materials to have high performance, electrochemical behavior during electrochemical activation has been investigated by sequential voltage applying schemes. These results showed that the effective voltage for electrochemical activation was about 2.7~3.2 V irrelevant to applying voltage due to the decrease of surface activation of activated carbon with high specific surface area.

  • The meridians are energy pathways found in the interior organs of the body leading the bio-electrical energy the periphery of the body for its energetic supply and the meridians connect the individual acupuncture points. The acupucture points in turn serve for the interference with the bio-electric energy, thus made it measurable. It has been developed to a stage where one could stimulate the acupuncture-points in order to achieve organ effects in the body. To the contrast, Dr.Niboyet proved that the human skin contains points varing in their electrical roperties as to their surroundings. He also tried to send direct current through the skin taken from the body and derive it at other places of the skin characterized by the above mentioned meridians and acupuncture points. The body produces a potential in the organs to reach the acupuncture point via the meridians. The charge on the individual acupuncture point caused by the exactly difinable current of our mesurement device, creates a state of blance between the irritational potential, both of whcih are which are opposite to each other. The body processes the irritational current in the acupuncture point. Voll and Werner, as early as 1953, developed an instruments for applying electro-acupuncture on the skin without needle picks and the teaching from part of modern medicine after developing over recent years. Electro-acupucture is a comprechensive fterm for all procedures based on mesurements or thrapy derived from Oriental acupuncture, using modern electronics. As a result, I found the phenomena of the meridian during the disease. And It seems to be closely related between the meriduan and the disease. I think it must be researched profoundly and for the long time.

  • This study was carried out to get the basic data to practically design an artificial light-used plant factory system for common ice plant (Mesembryanthemum crystallinum L.) cultivation. The adequate range of light intensity was $120-200{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ and the carbon fixed rates was $0.84nmolCO_2{\cdot}cm^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$. When the planting density, light intensity, and yield were $0.0225m^2$ ($15{\times}15cm$), $200{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$, and 1,000 plants per day, the total number of the plants, cultivated area, and total light intensities were estimated as 25,000 plants, $563m^2$, and $140,625{\mu}mol{\cdot}s^{-1}$, respectively. About 153.2kW with 2,785 fluorescent lights (FL) needed for the electric power and the electricity charges was 2.46 million won for one month. At a harvest rate of 1,000 plants per day in closed-type plant factory, the light installation cost, total installation cost, and total production cost were 27.85, 83.56, and 100.27 million won, respectively. The production cost per plant including labor cost was calculated as 370 won, providing that the cultivation period was 25 days and marketable ratio was 80%. Considering the annual total expenses, incomes, and depreciation cost, the sales cost per plant could be estimated around 970 won or higher.
