In vitro Anti-Tyrosinase Activity of Viscumneoside III and Homoflavoyadorinin B Isolated from Korean Mistletoe (Viscum album)

  • Various bioactive substances are found in mistletoe, including viscumneoside III (1) and homoflavoyadorinin B (2), both which inhibit tyrosinase. These two compounds are mainly found in the EtOAc fraction of the mistletoe extract and demonstrate higher rates of tyrosinase inhibition than ascorbic acid, which was used as a control. Our results suggest that mistletoe extracts can be utilized in skin whitening cosmetics.

  • A novel near infrared(NIR) absorbing dyes were synthesized by using bis-aldehyde formyl aromatic compounds and heteroaryl derivatives with the reactive methylene group. These dyes provided a range of the NIR wavelength region about 720 nm value. Also, the light absorbing properties of these dyes were investigated in our experiment results. In generally, these NIR colorants may be potential used for optical recording media, DNA sequencing probe and laser beam printings.

  • Several squarylium dyes, derived from benzothiazole and indoles, were synthesized as a potential NIR dyes with absorption in the 700-900 nm region. These chromophores were induced much more bathochromic shift in the absorption maximum of the compound relative to the neutral parent squarylium dyes which we were described before. The squaryliums offer a convenient way of linking the dye to functional substrates and may be an advantage to be potential chromophores for NIR-absorbing, NIR-Cut-off filter, PDT(Photo Dynamic Therapy) materials.

발전용 바이오중유의 혼합비율에 따른 배출가스 특성 연구 (A Study on the Emission Characteristics for Blended Power Bio-Fuel Oil)

  • As our government is actively introducing the RPS (Renewable Portfolio Standards) as a national renewable energy obligation policy, power producers are using the various renewable energy to meet the RPS supply quota since 2012. Recently, it is appling to use power bio-fuel oil in bio-fuel oil demonstration project with power companies. In general, power bio-fuel oils are composed of mixture products of vegetable oil, animal fat, fatty acid ester and waste oil. It is already developing for a power plant as a renewable energy abroad. In Korea, it is studying a 100% combustion and blended combustion of heavy fuel oil and bio-fuel oil. In this study, we investigated fuel characteristics of mixed power bio-fuel oil and its emission performance. Especially, it was reduced emissions of bio-oil in industrial boilers due to bio-fuel properties as compare with fuel oil.

  • 4차 산업에 대한 꾸준한 투자와 개발로 IoT 기술이 보다 발전하게 되었고, 이에 따라 필요한 보안 플랫폼을 제공할 수 있는 플랫폼 기반의 블록체인 기술이 필요하게 되었다. 블록체인 기반의 IoT 어플리케이션인 BIoT는 향후 보다 다양한 분야에 적용되기 위하여 보다 정교한 보안성과 확장성 및 효율성을 제공하는 플랫폼 기술이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 최근 발표되어 이슈가 되고 있는 스마트 컨트랙트 ETH 2.0을 분석하여 기존의 BIoT 개발에 요구되는 사항들을 비교하고 향후 다가오는 BIoT의 미래를 전망하여 본다.

바이오매스로부터 급속 열분해를 통한 바이오오일의 생산기술 연구동향 (Research Trend of Bio-oil Production from Biomass by using Fast Pyrolysis)

  • 본 논문에서는 바이오매스로부터 급속열분해를 통해 난방용, 발전용 및 수송용 연료로 사용하기 위해 바이오오일을 생산하는 기술개발 현황을 나타내었다. 바이오매스를 작은 규모의 액체연료로 전환하기 위해 가장 효율적인 방법 중 하나는 급속열분해이다. 급속열분해를 통한 바이오오일은 $450^{\circ}C{\sim}600^{\circ}C$ 온도에서 바이오매스가 신속히 열분해 되어 증기 급냉를 위해 외부 산소가 없는 조건에서 생산된다. 이 바이오오일은 최초 건조 바이오매스 기준 최대 75 무게%까지 생산할 수 있지만, 일반적으로 60-75 무게% 수준이 적합하다. 본 연구에서는 바이오매스의 원료특성, 바이오오일 생산원리, 바이오오일의 특성 및 활용분야에 대한 최근의 개발현황을 살펴보았다.

Antifungal Activity of Five Plant Essential Oils as Fumigant Against Postharvest and Soilborne Plant Pathogenic Fungi

  • A total of 39 essential oils were tested for antifungal activities as volatile compounds against five phytopathogenic fungi at a dose of 1 ${\mu}l$ per plate. Five essential oils showed inhibitory activities against mycelial growth of at least one phytopathogenic fungus. Origanum vulgare essential oil inhibited mycelial growth of all of the five fungi tested. Both Cuminum cyminum and Eucalyptus citriodora oils displayed in vitro antifungal activities against four phytopathogenic fungi except for Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. The essential oil of Thymus vulgaris suppressed the mycelial growth of C. gloeosporioides, Fusarium oxysporum and Rhizoctonia solani and that of Cymbopogon citratus was active to only F. oxysporum. The chemical compositions of the five active essential oils were determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. This study suggests that both E. citriodora and C. cyminum oils have a potential as antifungal preservatives for the control of storage diseases of various crops.
