We carried out to develop a traditional functional beverage by using hot-water extraction of 4 medicinal plants (Polygonatun sibiricum, Ophiopogonis radix, Lycii fructus, Schizandriae frutcus) and we examined the effects of drink on physiological response during exercise and recovery phase. The subjects were male baseball players, and exercise protocol was performed with 45 minutes treadmill running and 85% VO$_2$ max intensity. Brix, pH and titratable acidity of developed drink were 9.5%, 3.3 and 0.22%. The approximate nutritional composition of beverage was carbohydrate, 5.98%, total dietary fiber, 0.42%, crude protein, 0.70%, crude fat, 0.20% and crude ash, 0.20%. Developed. traditional functional beverage contained K (4.00 mg%), Na (3.68mg%), Ca (2.54mg%), Mg (1.60mg%) and Fe (0.29mg%). Developed beverage drinking group showed a lowest heart rate during exercise and recovery phase than the other two group (water group and ion beverage group). In the change of blood lactate concentration, developed beverage intake group showed a significant lowest values during exercise and recovery phase. And blood hematocrit values and osmolarity were lowest in the developed beverage intake group. In these results, exercise performance capacity was expected to improve most highly with the developed drink from composition with medicinal plants. • Recently, deep learning has been used in the development of various institutional devices and services to help the visually impaired people in their daily lives. This is because not only are there few products and facility guides written in braille, but less than 10% of the visually impaired can use braille. In this paper, we propose a system that recognizes beverage cans in real time and outputs the beverage can name with sound for the convenience of the visually impaired. Five commercially available beverage cans were selected, and a CNN model and a YOLO model were designed to recognize the beverage cans. After augmenting the image data, model training was performed. The accuracy of the proposed CNN model and YOLO model is 91.2% and 90.8%, respectively. For practical verification, a system was built by attaching a camera and speaker to a Raspberry Pi. In the system, the YOLO model was applied. It was confirmed that beverage cans were recognized and output as sound in real time in various environments.

  • The purpose of this study was to establish the best optimized extraction condition for the optimal development of fresh maca beverage using low temperature extraction and enzyme treatment. Low temperatures were applied to prevent heat-related nutritional loss during the extraction process. Best extraction conditions were investigated based on the ratio of maca to water, the ratio of enzymes, extraction temperature and time, and agitation. The optimal enzyme conditions were also examined after the treatment of cellulase:pectinase mixture to maintain the original color and flavor, as well as to increase the extraction yield. When cellulase:pectinase was 1:1, the extraction rate ranged from 77.84 to 79.29%. In addition, the best extraction rate was found when maca was mixed with twice volume of water and incubated at $45^{\circ}C$ ($84.05{\pm}0.32%$) with 90 rpm ($87.13{\pm}0.46%$) agitation for 3 hours ($84.73{\pm}0.29%$). Furthermore, sensory evaluation showed a high score in flavor, sweetness, and overall acceptability after adding 3% jujube concentrate into a fresh maca beverage.
