뇌파를 이용한 두개천골요법 기반 베개의 수면유도 효과 검증 (Evaluation of Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) Based Pillow on Sleep Induction Using the Electroencephalogram (EEG))

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a pillow simulated with cranial sacral therapy (CST) on sleep induction using electroencephalography (EEG). This study included 12 voluntary participants divided into experimental group (CST group) and control group (Non-CST group) to observe EEG changes. The position of the electrode for EEG measurement consists of 8 channels electrodes (Fp1, Fp2, F3, F4, T3, T4, P3 and P4). In this study, we measured the fall asleep time, change of brain activity and sleep wave ratio using EEG wave (${\delta}$, ${\theta}$, ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ and ${\gamma}$). As a result, the mean fall asleep time of the experimental group was shorter than that of the control group significantly (p < 0.001). Also in comparison with the control group, both the delta (d) and theta (q) wave corresponding to the slow waves showed a larger increase and the alpha (a) wave showed a larger decrease significantly. The slow waves of experimental group showed a higher rate of significant increase than the control group (p < 0.001). Therefore this study showed that pillow based on CST had an effective in improving sleep induction and quality.

안정상태에서의 뇌파와 호흡의 연관성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relation between Respiration and EEG in Stable State)

  • EEG 신호 중, 알파파는 안정시에 우세하게 나타나며 베타파는 흥분시에 우세하게 나타나는 것으로 알려져 있다. 또한 동양의 한의학에서는 상대적으로 길고 고른 호흡일 때가 짧고 변화가 심한 호흡일 때 보다 안정된 상태를 나타낸다고 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 EEG의 안정상태를 정량적으로 나타내기 위한 뇌파의 정량화 지표와 호흡의 안정상태를 정량적으로 나타내기 위한 호흡 정량화 지표를 정의하여 안정상태에 있어서 EEG와 호흡의 연관성을 찾아내고자 하였다. 총 20명의 피험자에 대해 각각 20분간의 실험을 통해 본 연구의 유효성을 검증하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand human sensory and emotional response according to car noise. This study investigated human stress levels from car noise based on the data of electro-encephalogram (EEG) and subjective evaluation analysis data. Since there are few previous works on the effect of car noise on human's reaction, more profound research about the effect of car noise on driver's emotion would be worth performing. Subjects were exposed to five different kinds of car noises. EEG data were collected while the subject was exposed to noise. In order to process EEG data, FFT analysis was used to separate the collected EEG data into ${\alpha}$-wave and ${\beta}$-wave. Also, survey was performed to carry out subjective evaluation. The results of the subjective evaluation were closely correlated to those found in the EEG signal analysis. The results from this study may provide useful information for mitigating car noise induced stress.

  • In this paper, electromagnetic scattering problems by a resistive strip grating with tapered resistivity on a grounded dielectric plane according to strip width and spacing, relative permittivity and thickness of dielectric layers, and incident angles of a electric wave are analyzed by applying the Fourier-Galerkin Moment Method known as a numerical procedure. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients and the resistive boundary condition is used for the relationship between the tangential electric field and the electric current density on the strip. The resistivity of resistive strips in this paper varies from zeroes at one edge to infinite at the other edge, then the induced surface current density on the resistive strip is expanded in a series of Jacobi polynomials of the order ${\alpha}=0.2,\;{\beta}=-0.2$ as a orthogonal polynomials. The numerical results of the geometrically normalized reflected power in this paper are compared with those for the existing perfectly conducting strip. The numerical results of the normalized reflected power for conductive strips case with zero resistivity in this paper show in good agreement with those of existing papers.

Effects of the Photic Stimulation on Electroencephalogram in Pediatric Epilepsy Patients

  • Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disease showing a symptom of repeated seizures without any other physical disorders. Among the diagnostic examination for epilepsy, the electroencephalogram (EEG) has been known as an important test. This study aimed to investigate the EEG with photic stimulation in the pediatric epilepsy patients. They underwent digital sleep and waking EEGs or waking EEGs with photic stimulation. Epilepsy type, seizure history, and season of occurring seizure were analyzed. Epilepsy patients showed more response during the period of photic-on and eye close at the frequency of 10~20 Hz during the EEG activation procedure. Photoparoxysmal response (PPR) was shown in 206 patients out of total 1,551 epilepsy patients. PPR was appeared more frequently during summer and winter seasons, and especially in the patients who had a history of seizure. During the PPR, EEG pattern showed spike (77.18%), theta (9.71%), and spike + theta (13.11%). On the other hand, beta and theta waves were not significantly changed by photic stimulation. However, alpha wave was decreased and delta wave was increased by photic stimulation (P<0.05). These changes may be due to temporarily altered electrophysiological function of the epileptic patient's brain by the photic stimulation. There was no difference in the EEG pattern between the left and right side in the brain. In conclusion, condition of photic-on with closed eyes and frequency of 10~20 Hz during the procedure of EEG activation could be appropriate for obtaining a definite photoparoxysmal response in the electroencephalogram of the pediatric epilepsy patients.

  • 본 논문에서는 학습집중력을 향상 시킬 수 있는 시트를 제작 하였다. 학습집중력의 향상을 입증하기 위하여 인체내에 존재하고 있는 조영제를 이용하여 공간적 시간적 해상도가 뛰어나고 비침습적으로 뇌기능을 측정할 수 있는 기능적 자기공명영상을 획득하고 뇌파측정을 한 결과 기억작용과 관련 있는 전두엽 부근의 뇌혈류량의 활성화를 확인할 수 있었고 뇌파 측정 분석결과 절대알파파와 절대베타파의 비율에서 유의할 만한 변화를 확인하였다. 기능적자기공명 영상은 뇌의 생리기능적 역할을 규명 의학적으로 수술 전후 장애를 방지하고 예방하는데 활용하고 있으며 뇌신경망의 가시화로 학습 집중력 등과 같은 뇌와 관련된 제품을 개발하는데 많은 연구가 이루어질 것이다.

Jacket형 해양구조물(海洋構造物)의 비선형(非線形) 동적응답해석(動的應答解析) (Nonlinear Analysis of Dynamic Response of Jacket Type Offshore Structures)

  • In the present paper, the nonlinear analysis of dynamic response of the jacket type offshore structures subject to nonlinear fluid force is performed. Furthermore, several analysis methods, such as quasi-static analysis, Newmark-$\beta$ method and state vector time integration technique, and described and compared with each others in order to investigate the efficiency numerical of the schemes for this kind of nonlinear structural analysis. In the problem formulation, various environmental forces acting on the jacket type offshore structure have been studied and calculated. Particularly, hydrodynamic forces are calculated by using the Morison type formula, which contains the interaction effect between the motion of the structure and the velocity of fluid particles. Also, Stokes' 5th order wave theory and Airy's linear wave theory are used to predict the velocity distribution of the fluid particles. Finally, the nonlinear equation of motion of the structure is obtained by using three-dimensional finite element formulation. Based on the above procedures, two examples, i.e. a single pile and a typical offshore jacket platform, are studied in details.

랫트뇨중의 Alanine Aminopeptidase와 $\beta$-Glucuronidase 측정에 의한 신장독성 평가에 관하여 (Nephrotoxicity Assessment by Determination of Alanine Aminopeptidase (AAP) and $\beta$-Glucuronidase(GRS) in Rat)

  • Present experiment was performed in order to establish the optimal reaction conditions for determination of urinary AAP and GRS activities and to investigate the applicability of urinary AAP and GRS in nephrotoxicity test in rat. The results were as follows ; 1. The optimal pH of phosphate buffer for determination of urinary AAP activity was 7.8. 2. The Michaelis constant of urinary AAP ranged from 0.8 to 1.0mmol/$\ell$ 3. The optimal wave length for determination of urinary GRS activity was 405nm. 4. The optimal pH of acetate buffer for determination of urinary GRS activity was 5.6. 5. The Michaelis constant of urinary GRS ranged from 0.65~0.79mmo1/$\ell$. 6. The AAP activities in gel-filtered samples were significantly higher than those in crude samples. Mean values of AAP activities in gel-filtered samples and crude samples were 29$\pm$20 and 20$\pm$13U/$\ell$, respectively. 7. There was not significant difference between gel-filtered samples and crude samples in urinary GRS activities. Mean values of GRS activities in gel-filtered samples and crude samples were 57$\pm$40 and 56$\pm$39U/$\ell$, respectively. 8. Limits of linearity of urinary AAP and GRS activities were 2.0 and 3.6U/$\ell$, respectively. 9. Within-run imprecisions of the assays, were acceptable, as the coefficients of the AAP activities ranged from 5.5 to 6.3% and those of GRS activities ranged from 1.4 to 6.2%, respectively. 10. Urinary AAP excretion was 675$\pm$227mu/24hrs.kg before administration of potassium dichromate, and increased significantly to 4246$\pm$2567mU/24hrs.kg within 24 hours after administration of potassium dichromate. 11. Urinary GRS excretion did not increase significantly after administration of potassim dichromate. 12. From these findings it is concluded that urinary AAP excretion is early and sensitive Indicator to detect kidney damage in nephrotoxicity experiment.

Molecular Cloning of Chitinase Genes Family from Serratia marcescens

  • Sau3AI으로 부분절단한 Serratia marcescens genomic DNA(5Kb 이상)을 pUC19의 BamHI site에 삽입하여 total genomic library를 준비하였다. Swollen colloidal chitin media에서 halo를 형성하는 2개의 E.coli 형질전환주를 선별하였다. 이들 colony가 chitinase 유전자를 갖음을 재확인하기 위하여 4-methylumbelliferyl N-acetyl-$\beta$-D-glucosaminide(4-MuFGlcNAc)를 이용하였다. 4-MuFGlcNAc는 chitinase에 대한 기질특이성을 나타내며 형광을 나타내는 기질로서 positive clone들은 360nm의 자외선을 조사하였을 경우 밝은 형광을 나타낸다. pUC19으로 부터 유래된 2 종류의 다른 chitinase clone, pCH1(11.0Kb) 및 pCH2(7.5Kb)를 genomic DNA library로 부터 분리하였으며, 이들의 제한효소지도를 작성한 결과 서로 다른 제한효소지도를 나타내었다. pCH1EA 및 pCH2로 부터 각각의 EcoRI-Xbal fragment를 subcloning함으로써 두개의 다른 chitinase 유전자의 위치를 결정하였다. pCH1EA 및 pCH2를 cross hybridization 한 결과 hybridization signal을 나타내지 않아 서로 유사성이 없는 것으로 사료된다.

전자코를 이용한 헥사날과 싸이클로덱스트린의 결합 분석 (Analysis for Cyclodextrins to Entrap with Hexanal using Electronic Nose)

  • 이취성분의 하나인 헥사날이 CD 종류, CD 농도, 저장기간에 따라 결합하는 정도를 전자코를 이용하여 분석하였다. 여러 종류의 CD 중에서 ${\alpha}-CD$가 헥사날과 가장 많은 양이 반응하면서 CD복합체를 이루었다. CD의 농도가 증가할수록 잔존하는 헥사날의 양이 감소하였는데 5% ${\beta}-CD$ 첨가시 86%의 헥사날이 감소하여 헥사날-CD복합체를 이루고 있음을 보여 주었다. CD복합체를 이룬 후 저장초기 상태에서는 헥사날의 양 변화에 별다른 차이가 없었지만 저장일이 지남에 따라 헥사날의 양이 점차 감소하였다. 또한 저장기간이 지남에 따라 자연 휘발되는 양보다는 CD와의 결합에 의해 헥사날의 양의 감소효과가 더 큰 것을 알 수 있었으며 이런 정도를 전자코로 분석할 수 있었다.
