Bell pepper is an economically important crop worldwide; however, production is restricted by a number of fungal diseases that cause significant yield loss. Chemical control is the most common approach adopted by growers to manage a number of these diseases. Monitoring for the development to resistance to fungicides in pathogenic fungal populations is central to devising integrated pest management strategies. Two fungal species, Fusarium incarnatum-equiseti species complex (FIESC) and Colletotrichum truncatum are important pathogens of bell pepper in Trinidad. This study was carried out to determine the sensitivity of 71 isolates belonging to these two fungal species to fungicides with different modes of action based on in vitro bioassays. There was no significant difference in log effective concentration required to achieve 50% colony growth inhibition ($LogEC_{50}$) values when field location and fungicide were considered for each species separately based on ANOVA analyses. However, the $LogEC_{50}$ value for the Aranguez-Antracol locationfungicide combination was almost twice the value for the Maloney/Macoya-Antracol location-fungicide combination regardless of fungal species. $LogEC_{50}$ values for Benomyl fungicide was also higher for C. truncatum isolates than for FIESC isolates and for any other fungicide. Cropping practices in these locations may explain the fungicide sensitivity data obtained.
Objective : This study was carried to make out the connection between cerebral artery blood flow velocity and ischemic theory that presumed the cause of Bell's palsy. Method : We measured cerebral artery blood flow velocity each external carotid artery, internal carotid artery, common carotid artery, siphon, superficial temporal artery by TCD to 20 patients who diagnosed as facial nerve palsy from march 2001 to July 2001 and all objectives devided two groups as palsy side. A group is right side facial nerve palsy and B group is left facial nerve palsy. Results : 1. There is no effective change of blood flow in external carotid artery either A, B group. 2. There is no effective change of blood flow in internal carotid artery either A, B group. 3. There is no effective change of blood flow in common carotid artery either A, B group. 4. There is no effective change of blood flow in siphon artery either A, B group. 5. There is no effective change of blood flow in superficial temporal artery either A, B group.
In this paper, we report an InGaAs/InAlAs multi-quantum well (MQW) avalanche photodiode (APD) showing a performance suitable for 10 Gbps lightwave communications. In designing the device, emphasis is given on the effect of indiffusion of Be dopant from the highly doped field layer into the MQW multiplication region. It is found that a small amount of diffusion can alter the dark current and gain characteristics of the device significantly. A spacer used to restrain such indiffusion is shown effective in reducing dark current (500 nA at a gain of 10) while maintaining a high bandwidth (10 GHz at a gain of 10) devices grown by molecular beam epitaxy.

In this paper, it could improved on the arbitrary nonlinear function learning approximation which have the wavelet neural network based on Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System(ANFIS) and the multi-resolution Analysis(MRA) of the wavelet transform. ANFIS structure is composed of a bell type fuzzy membership function, and the wavelet neural network structure become composed of the forward algorithm and the backpropagation neural network algorithm. This wavelet composition has a single size, and it is used the backpropagation algorithm for learning of the wavelet neural network based on ANFIS. It is confirmed to be improved the wavelet base number decrease and the convergence speed performances of the wavelet neural network based on ANFIS Model which is using the wavelet translation parameter learning and bell type membership function of ANFIS than the conventional algorithm from 1 dimension and 2 dimension functions.

In multiple antenna systems, vertical Bell Labs Layered Space-Time (V-BLAST) systems enable very high throughput by nulling and cancelling at each layer detection. In this paper, we propose a V-BLAST system which combines with signal space diversity technique. The benefit of the signal space diversity is that we can obtain an additional gain without extra bandwidth and power expansion by applying inphase/quadrature interleaving and the constellation rotation. Through simulation results, it is shown that the performance of the proposed system is less than 0.5dB away from the ideal upper bound.
The pH dependence of the kinetic parameters of recombinant acetohydroxy acid synthase catalyzed reaction was determined in order to obtain information about the chemical mechanism, particularly acid-base chemistry. The maximum velocity and V/K for pyruvate were bell-shaped with estimated pK values of 6.5-6.7 and 8.6-8.9, respectively. The maximum velocity and V/K for 2-ketobutyrate were also bell-shaped with estimated pK values of 6.6-7.0 and 8.4-8.6. The pH dependence of 1/Ki for 3-bromopyruvate, a competitive inhibitor of pyruvate, was also bell-shaped, giving pK values almost identical with those obtained for pyruvate. Since the same pK values were observed in the $pK_{i 3-bromopyruvate}$, V/K pH profiles and $V_{max}$ profiles, both enzyme groups must be in their optimum protonation state for efficient binding of reactants. These results reflect that two enzyme groups are necessary for binding of substrate and/or catalysis.

This parer describes the tracking control simulation of 6-DOF shaking table with a bell crank structure, which converts the direction of reciprocating movements. For the Joint coordinate-based control which uses lengths of each actuator, the trajectory conversion process inverse kinematics is performed. Applying the Newton-Euler approach, the dynamic equation of the shaking table is derived. To cope with nonlinear problems, time-delay control(TDC) is considered, which has been noted for its exceptional robustness to parameter uncertainties and disturbance, in addition to steady-state accuracy and computational efficiency. If the nominal model is equal to the real system, joint coordinate-based control can be very efficient. However, manufacturing tolerances installation errors and link offsets contaminate the nominal values of the kinematic parameters used in the kinematic model of the shaking table. To compensate differences between the nominal model and the real system. the joint coordinate-based control using acceleration feedback in the Cartesian coordinate space is proposed.

Monthly occurrence of the moon jellyfish (Scyphozoa: Ulmariidae: Aurelia aurita) was investigated in the southern coast of Korea in summer. The relationships not only between weight and length but also between length and food (rotifer and Artemia sp.) ingestion were also studied. Aurelia was monthly sampled 5 or 6 times at the coastal area between Jinhae and Geoje-do with a landing net (mouth: 30 cm, mesh size: 2 cm) at surface from June to August,2001. Aurelia aurita was dominated by 6-9 cm in June, 7-16 cm in July and 16 cm in August in bell diameter. The bell diameter was significantly related with weight (r=0.930, P<0.001). The ingestion rate was significantly different according to bell diameter and food density (ANOVA test: P<0.001).
Background : Bell's palsy(BP) is defined as an idiopathic peripheral facial paralysis of sudden onset and account more than 50% of facial paralysis. It's etiology is unclear, but herpes simplex virus type-1(HSV-1) has been the most suspicious causative agent of BP that ever been studied. We evaluated the effect of add-on acyclovir in acute stage of BP. Methods : Subject consisted of 35 patients who developed acute idiopathic unilateral facial nerve palsy(16 men and 19 women with age 9-78 years old). The treatments were started within 10 days after onset of BP. Facial nerve function was assessed by the House-Brackman facial nerve grading scale and facial nerve conduction study including blink reflex. Follow-up evaluation were made 2 month after onset. Twenty of 35 patients were treated with combined therapy of acyclovir and prednisone. As a control group, 15 patients were treated with prednisone only. We compared the improvement of neurologic defects at recovery phase. Results : Compared with two groups, difference in grading scale at recovery phase is statistically significant(p<0.01). So, acyclovir-prednisone group showed a significant improvement in grading scale at recovery phase compared with prednisone group. Conclusion : We identified the benefits of add-on acyclovir in the acute stage of BP.

There have been provided a surprisingly large number of summation formulae for generalized hypergeometric functions and series incorporating a variety of elementary and special functions in their various combinations. In this paper, we aim to consider certain generalized hypergeometric function 3F2 with particular arguments, through which a number of summation formulas for p+1Fp(1) are provided. We then establish a power series whose coefficients are involved in generalized hypergeometric functions with unit argument. Also, we demonstrate that the generalized hypergeometric functions with unit argument mentioned before may be expressed in terms of Bell polynomials. Further, we explore several special instances of our primary identities, among numerous others, and raise a problem that naturally emerges throughout the course of this investigation.
