The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effect of combined treatments (slightly acidic electrolyzed water (SAEW), ultrasound (US), or mild heat (60℃)) on the growth of Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium in fresh-cut bell pepper, and the shelf-life and sensory quality (color and texture) were followed during storage at 4℃ and 25℃. An additional 0.65, 1.72, and 2.70 log CFU/g reduction was achieved by heat treatments at 60℃ for 1 min for DW, SAEW, and SAEW+US, respectively. Regardless of the type of pathogen, the combined treatment (SAEW+US+60℃) achieved a significantly (p < 0.05) longer lag time in all treatment groups. This combined treatment also prolonged the shelf-life of bell pepper up to 8 days and 30 h for the storage at 4℃ and 25℃, respectively. There was also no significant difference in the color and hardness of treated (SAEW+US+60℃) bell pepper from that of control during the storage. This new hurdle approach is thus expected to improve the microbial safety of bell peppers during storage and distribution.

Let x be an element of a group G and be an automorphism of G. Then for a positive integer n, the autocommutator $[x,_n{\alpha}]$ is defined inductively by $[x,{\alpha}]=x^{-1}x^{\alpha}=x^{-1}{\alpha}(x)$ and $[x,_{n+1}{\alpha}]=[[x,_n{\alpha}],{\alpha}]$. We call the group G to be n-auto-Engel if $[x,_n{\alpha}]=[{\alpha},_nx]=1$ for all $x{\in}G$ and every ${\alpha}{\in}Aut(G)$, where $[{\alpha},x]=[x,{\alpha}]^{-1}$. Also, for any integer $n{\neq}0$, 1, a group G is called an n-auto-Bell group when $[x^n,{\alpha}]=[x,{\alpha}^n]$ for every $x{\in}G$ and each ${\alpha}{\in}Aut(G)$. In this paper, we investigate the properties of such groups and show that if G is an n-auto-Bell group, then the factor group $G/L_3(G)$ has finite exponent dividing 2n(n-1), where $L_3(G)$ is the third term of the upper autocentral series of G. Also, we give some examples and results about n-auto-Bell abelian groups.

Objectives : The aims of this study are to find out proper methods to assess Bell's palsy with DITI and to validate the correlation between DITI of acupoints and the H-B scale. Methods : 36 Bell's palsy patients and 10 healthy people were measured. We checked thermal differences between abnormal and normal acupoint sites measured by using DITI and the H-B scale. Results : There was no significant thermal difference between abnormal and normal sites. The H-B scale was significantly correlated with thermal differences between $ST_6$ and $TE_{17}$. Conclusions : DITI was useful for evaluating the severity of Bell's palsy.

In this work, vibration characteristics of high speed rotary bell cup for paint atomizer are numerically investigated. New type of bell cup model is proposed and additional corresponding models with design parameter variations for length and diameter are constructed. Dynamic characteristics, such as natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes, are studied for each model as a first step. To investigate operation stability, critical speed of rotary bell cup is numerically analyzed based on Campbell diagram and separation margin between operating speed and critical speed is identified. Unbalance vibration responses are also investigated with respect to design parameter variation, operating speed and balancing quality grade of G. Then the proper design guideline for stable operation of high speed rotary bell cup for paint atomizer is suggested.

The purpose of this report was to show that the oriental medical treatment is effective on recurrent bell's palsy. We investigated 1 patient with recurrent bell's palsy who was a case of recurrent ipsilateral bell's palsy with four distinct episodes over the past 11 years. As a treatment, Ligigepung-san(Liqiqufeng-san), Acupuncture, and Moxa were tried upon the patient for 40 days in order to relieve the symptom of palsy. In terms of observing the changes of symptoms, the progress of patient's condition was evaluated periodically by using the House-Brackamnn's grading system. In accordance with the observation under House-Brackamann's grading system, the patient's facial nerve palsy had gradually improved throughout the treatment. Therefore, this report suggests that Ligigepung-san (Liqiqufeng-sa n), Acupuncture, and Moxa are probably effective in the treatment of recurrent Bell's palsy.

The aim of this study was to investigate that thermal imaging is objective and effective to evaluate the severity of Bell's palsy. We investigated 19 cases of patients in college of Oriental Medicine, Iksan Oriental medical hospital at Wonkwang university who were diagnosed with Bell's palsy. The degree of palsy was evaluated with House-Brackmann grading system(HBGS) before treatment, then the thermal difference of the face was calculated by thermal imaging, and finally the correlation between HBGS and thermal difference was analyzed. The significance correlation was found between HBGS and thermal imaging's thermal difference. According to the images taken from 17 patients' DITI's temperature value and HBGS's palsy grade, they significantly were correlated. As thermal imaging's thermal differences got larger in number, the palsy grade had increased. These results suggest that thermal imaging identified to be a relatively objective examination method for evaluating the severity of Bell's palsy.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of traditional Korean medicine therapy on Bell’s palsy during early puerperium. Methods : The patient who had Bell’s palsy during early puerperium were treated with traditional Korean medicine such as Gunggwijohyeol-eum, Saenghwa-tang, Gunggwijohyeol-eumhabBulsu-san and Sasang constitution medicine. The progresses of symptoms were evaluated by House-Brackmann facial nerve grading system and Numeric Rating System (NRS). Results : After treatment, the patient’s symptoms of Bell’s palsy and puerperium were improved. Conclusions : This case study shows that the postpartum care in traditional Korean medicine therapy and Sasang constitution medicine is effective for the patient who had Bell’s palsy during early puerperium.

This report was done to observe the effect of Hominis placenta herbal acupuncture on Bell's palsy. The study group comprised 16 patients who arrived at Woo-suk university oriental hospital from January, 1999 till January, 2000 for Bell's palsy. All patients were divided into two group. One was herbal acupunture group, and the other was control group. Acupunture group was done herbal acupuncture therapy on the facial acupuncture points. Followings are achievement and a term of each group. In herbal acupuncture group, 100% motor recovery was 7 case, 75% was 1 case, and 25% motor recovery term was $7.38{\pm}5.21$ days, 50% was $11.00{\pm}6.16$ days, 75% was $15.13{\pm}9.55$ days, 100% was $23.14{\pm}7.97$ days. In control group, 100% motor recovery was 4 case, 75% was 2 case, 25% below was 2 case and 25% motor recovery term was $11.17{\pm}4.96$days, 50% was $18.17{\pm}6.82$ days, 75% was $29.50{\pm}6.95$ days, 100% was $44.00{\pm}11.49$ days. The above results indicate that Hominis placenta herbal acupuncture is a useful effect on Bell's palsy. thus, continuous herbal acupunture study will be needed for more clinical application on Bell' palsy.

Recurrent Bell's palsy is a very rare case and have been reported that shows the incidence to be approximately 10 per cent in the Bell's palsy patents. It is generally accepted that facial paralysis caused by compression of the facial nerve by tumor develops slowly and has an unremitting course, however, reported cases have described the rare association of recurrent facial paralysis and intracranial tumor, and the same recovery rate. Usual symptoms of Bell's palsy include subacute facial palsy, hyperacusis on the affected side, postauricular pain on the affected side, altered sensation of taste, and partial trigeminal distribution hypesthesias. Complete resolution of symptoms is usually seen in 2-3months in $75-85\%$ of cases, with $25-35\%$ showing varying degrees of residual effects. We report a case of 4th ipsilateral recurrent Bell's palsy in a 14-year-old women, which was occurred in every winters. We treated her with acupuncture, moxibustion, herbal medication, carbon and silver spike point, and used House-Brackmnn grading system(HBGS) and the Fisch Detailed Evaluation of Facial Symmetry(DEFS) to assess the degree of paralysis in each part of face.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of oriental treatment to Bell's palsy occurred during pregnancy. Methods: We treated 28 year old woman and 31 year old woman who had the Bell's palsy occurred during pregnancy. 2 patients were treated with oriental treatment such as herb medicine and acupuncture therapy. The effects of these treatment was evaluated by Yanagihara's unweighted grading system. Results: As a result, symptoms were remarkably alleviated and Yanagihara score was improved. Conclusion: According to this result, we concluded the oriental treatment could improve pregnant Bell's palsy patient. After this paper, further study and clinical approach based on oriental treatment will be needed about pregnant Bell's palsy patient.
