  • Many locomotion purpose robots are being built and are under research such as mobile manipulator and biped humanoid robot, etc. Dynamic posture stability of these robots is based on the ZMP point. For getting stable ZMP trajectory, some method has been developed but is too complex and time consuming which leads to inability in generating on-line ZMP trajectory. In this paper, we give a qualitative study about behavior of ZMP in biped walking robot through visualization. This result gives intuitive understanding about behavior of ZMP under various robot state.

  • In this paper, neural network-based compliance control of telerobot is presented, This is a method to learn the compliance of human behavior and control telerobot using learned compliance. The consistency of human behavior is checked using Lipschitz's condition. The neural compliance model is composed of a multi-layered neural network which mimics the compliant notion of the human operator. The effectiveness of proposed scheme ie verified by a simulation study.

  • Each robot plays a role of its own behavior in dynamic robot-soccer environment. One of the most necessary conditions to win a game is control of robot movement. In this paper we suggest a win strategy using Cellular Neural Network to set optimal path and cooperative behavior, which divides a soccer ground into grid-cell based ground and has robots move a next grid-cell along the optimal path to approach the moving target.

  • In this paper, we introduce the micro robot soccer playing system as a standard test bench for the study on the multiple agent system. Our method is based on following viewpoints. They are (1) any complex behavior such as cooperation among agents must be completed by sequential basic actions of concerned agents. (2) those basic actions can be well defined, but (3) how to organize those actions in current time point so as to result in a new stale beneficial to the end aim ought to be achieved by a kind of self-learning self-organization strategy.

  • Purpose As crowdfunding is a relatively recent phenomenon, determinants of successful crowdfunding with empirical data have been under-researched. Consequently, we examine the role of information- and behavior-based social interaction on the performance of crowdfunding projects, while investigating the motivational factor of goal achievement. Design/methodology/approach From February to August 2016, we collected panel data on 154 crowdfunding projects, which completed fundraising successfully on Tumblbug, a reward-based crowdfunding platform in Korea. In this study, we examine the roles of information-based social interaction (e.g., sharing information on a crowdfunding project) and behavior-based social interaction (e.g., following other investors' behavior) on successful crowdfunding. Additionally, we investigate whether the motivation of goal achievement moderates the relationship between social interaction and performance of crowdfunding projects or not. Findings We find that the number of times a crowdfunding project is shared has a positive influence on its performance, as does the number of project backers. Furthermore, we confirm that goal achievement motivation moderates the effects of information- and behavior-based social interaction on the performance of crowdfunding projects.

  • An action-selection-mechanism(ASM) has been proposed to work as a fully connected finite state machine to deal with sequential behaviors as well as to allow a state in the task program to migrate to any state in the task, in which a primitive node in association with a state and its transitional conditions can be easily inserted/deleted. Also, such a primitive node can be learned by a shortest path-finding-based reinforcement learning technique. Specifically, we define a behavioral motivation as having state-dependent value as a primitive node for action selection, and then sequentially construct a network of behavioral motivations in such a way that the value of a parent node is allowed to flow into a child node by a releasing mechanism. A vertical path in a network represents a behavioral sequence. Here, such a tree for our proposed ASM can be newly generated and/or updated whenever a new behavior sequence is learned. To show the validity of our proposed ASM, experimental results of a mobile robot performing the task of pushing- a- box-in to- a-goal(PBIG) will be illustrated.

  • The corrosion behavior of stainless steel 304 (SS 304), titanium, nickel and aluminium is studied by immersion and anodic polarization tests in non-aqueous electrolytes. Tetraethyl ammonium tetrafluoroborate is used as a supporting electrolyte in the three kinds of solvents. The immersion test shows that chemical corrosion rate in propylene carbonate-based electrolyte is lower than those in acetonitrile- or ${\gamma}$-butyrolactone-based electrolytes. Surface analyses do not reveal any corrosion product formed after the immersion test. In the anodic polarization tests, a higher concentration of supporting electrolyte gives a higher current density. In addition, a higher temperature increases the current density in the active region and reduces the potential range in the passive region. SS 304 shows the highest corrosion potential while Al shows the lowest corrosion potential and the highest current density in all studied conditions. Based on the conducted corrosion tests, the corrosion resistance of metal substrates in the organic solvents can be sorted in descending order as follows: SS 304 - Ti - Ni - Al.

  • The popularity of autonomous mobile robots have been rapidly increasing due to their new emerging application area, from room cleaning, tourist guidance to space explorations. However, the development of a satisfactory control algorithm that will enable the autonomous mobile robots to navigate safely especially in dynamic environments is still an open research problem. In this paper, a newly proposed potential field based control method is implemented, analyzed, and improvements are suggest based on experimental results obtain from computer simulations. The experimental results are presented to show the effectiveness of the behavior-based control using the proposed potential field generation technique.

  • Taylor rod impact tests have been the subject of many theoretical and experimental investigations. This paper discusses the numerical methods for simulating the Taylor impact test, which is widely used to obtain constitutive equations and failure conditions under high-velocity collisions of materials. With this in mind, a particle-based MPM (material point method) for linear viscoelastic solid materials was implemented, and MPM simulations for viscoelastic deformation behavior were numerically verified and confirmed by comparing the MPM and FEM results. In addition, this modeling and numerical approach could be extended to more complex viscoelastic models for basic understanding and to analyze the deformation and fracture behavior of more complicated viscoelastic material systems.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting the behavior intention of smartphone mobile banking service among tourists. Currently, due to the development of mobile Internet technology and the spread of smartphone all over the world, interest and spread of smart phone based mobile banking is popularized. Thus, we analyzed the relationship among performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, perceived financial cost, perceived habit, perceived security level, and user's behavioral intention as a dependent variable. In this study, 203 respondents were interviewed about Chinese tourists at Jeju International Airport, and the influence of independent variables was determined by Smartpls 3.0. The results showed that the perceived security level and habit had a positive effect on the behavior intention. Especially, perceived security is a major issue of smartphone-based mobile banking in recent years. This study is meaningful in that it is an analysis of behavior factors of smartphone-based mobile banking service for tourists.
