As many precedent studies have shown, most children grow receiving influence from their parents. The purpose of this study was to serve as a basis for better preventive approach by finding out the relationship between the attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) of elementary school children and maternal behavior characteristics. Moreover, the purpose of this study was to present basic materials for developing program of children and create good relationship between child and parents for better education. For the purposes, two hypotheses were posed. Hypothesis 1: There would be a significant disparity in maternal behavior between the ADHD group and the non-ADHD group. Hypothesis 2: The environment could have an influence on maternal behavior characteristics. The subjects in this study were 71 mothers who had children with ADHD and 69 mothers who had non-ADHD, who selected from mothers of third to sixth graders in elementary school in Kyonggi, Suwon. The instruments used for the diagnosis of ADHD was DSA-IV. The data were analyzed with ANOVA(Analysis of Variance) by SPSSWIN Program. The findings of this study were as fellows: First, Hypothesis 1 was accepted. The mothers who had ADHD children had rejective behavior characteristics in while the mothers group who had non-ADHD children had controling behavior characteristics but there was no significant difference in affectionate attitude and autonomic attitude. Second, hypothesis 2 was accepted generally. The psychological and physical environment had correlation with maternal behavior characteristics. Especially, there was a significant correlational relationship between the maternal satisfaction for their life and rejection of maternal behavior. The following conclusion could be made from the above mentioned findings. First, The maternal behavior characteristics resulted in severe ADHD for children which justified the need of proper education for mothers to care children wellbeing. Second, The environment of psychology had an influence on maternal behavior. This showed that it is essential to develope educational program and counselling system for mothers
This study focuses on adolescent prosocial behavior as one of the necessary elements for youth to grow as a healthy member of the society. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of peer group on adolescent prosocial behavior by comparing the peer influence model and the individual characteristics model. For the study, we conducted hierarchical multiple regression analyses using the data from the Korean Youth General Survey 2008, administered by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Results show that friends' prosocial behavior had a positive impact, but friends' antisocial behavior had a negative impact on adolescent prosocial behavior. When individual characteristics including self-esteem and empathy were analyzed simultaneously, empathy, self-esteem, friends' prosocial behavior, and friends' antisocial behavior were found to be statistically significant. The strength of association between individual characteristics and adolescent prosocial behavior was greater than that of friends' behaviors. Also, significant moderating effects of individual characteristics on the relationships between adolescent prosocial behavior and friends' behaviors were found. For example, the positive effect of friends' prosocial behavior on adolescent prosocial behavior increased as adolescent's level of self-esteem increased. On the other hand, the negative effect of friends' antisocial behavior on adolescent prosocial behavior decreased as adolescent's level of empathy increased. Based on the findings, both the peer influence model and the individual characteristics model were considered valid in explaining prosocial behavior of Korean adolescents. Finally, implications of this study for positive youth development were discussed.

In recent times, STEM graduates are confronting a decline in employment rates influenced by economic, social, cultural, and policy-related factors. Career decisions are closely linked to education, college experiences, and university settings. To comprehend the reasons behind the decline in STEM employment, it is essential to explore the relationships among these factors. This study aims to comprehensively examine differences in career motivation and career exploration behavior among 2,393 STEM undergraduates in Korea. Additionally, factors affecting career motivation and career exploration behavior were investigated. The findings indicate significant differences in perceived career motivation and career exploration behavior based on individual backgrounds and university characteristics. And analyzing the data, 37.8% of career motivation is explained by contextual supports, career barriers, individual backgrounds (grade, GPA), university characteristics (major fields, location), field to enter after graduation, and timing of job preparation. For career exploration behavior, 30.1% is explained by contextual supports, career barriers, individual backgrounds (gender, grade, GPA), university characteristics (major field, location), field to enter after graduation, and timing of job preparation. Practical implications underscore the need for tailored educational and policy support, considering individual backgrounds and university characteristics, to effectively address challenges faced by STEM graduates in the evolving employment landscape.
This study is designed to offer basic materials necessary for the instruction of effective clinical practices and the establishment of relationship with patients by means of making an analysis of the characteristics of patients affecting the behavior of students majoring in dental hygiene avoiding patients and countermeasures. With this in mind, the researcher worked with sophomores and juniors exposed to clinical practices during the period ranging from October 22, 2001 to November 9, 2001. The researcher came to the following conclusions on the basis of the findings of this survey. 1. The characteristics of patients influencing the behavior of avoiding them were categorized into appearance characteristics, personality characteristics, treatment-cooperative characteristics, and speech and behavior characteristics. Speech and behavior characteristics(4.26) turned out to be the most influential factor of all, which was followed by treatment-cooperative characteristics(3.68), personality characteristics(3.62) and appearance characteristics(3.42) in the right order. 2. The survey shows that foul breath and obnoxious oral(3.94) cavity were the worst factors of appearance characteristics and that using abusive language and being too aggressive(4.41) were the worst factors of personality characteristics. The study reveals that not putting faith in trainees(4.02) was the highest factor of treatment-cooperative characteristics and that using abusive language(4.50) was the highest factor of speech and behavior characteristics. 3. There was a significant positive relation between the domains of the characteristics of avoiding patients. The study indicates that the more subjects avoided the characteristics of patients, the more they avoided appearance characteristics(r =.444, p<.001) and that the more subjects avoided treatment-cooperative characteristics, the more they avoided appearance characteristics(r=.324, P<.001) and personality characteristics(r=.691, p<.001), and that the more they avoided speech and behavior characteristics, the more they avoided appearance characteristics(r=.265, p<.001) and personality characteristics (r=.531, p<.001). 4. The study shows that there was a significant difference between appearance characteristics and the growth areas of the subjects(p<.05) and that there was a significant difference between the satisfaction of clinical practices(p<.05) and health status(p<.05) in terms of personality characteristics. 5. The subjects avoided preschoolers, whose age ranged from 4 to 6(33.5%), most and avoided boys(71.4%) more than girls. They avoided those who were bereft of jobs(62.9%). And they avoided handicapped persons most in terms of special patients and avoided infant patients(31.0%). 6. The subjects turned out to have negative and passive countermeasures against those patients that had ever been avoided. So the researcher would like to suggest that theoretic education and training programs should be conducted in this respect by incorporating this mailer into the hygiene curriculum.
