Study on Satellite Vibration Control using Adaptive Control Scheme

  • Adaptive control methods are studied for the Satellite to isolate vibration in spite of the nonlinear system dynamics and parameter uncertainties of disturbance. First, a centralized control scheme is developed based on the particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm and feedback theory to automatically tune controller gains. A simulation study of a 3 degree-of-freedom device was conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed control scheme. Next, since a centralized control scheme is hard to construct model dynamics and not goad at performance when controller and systems environment are easily changed, a decentralized control scheme is presented to avoid these defects of the centralized control scheme from the point of view of production and maintenance. It is based on the adaptive control methodologies to find PID controller parameters. Experiment studies were conducted to apply the adaptive control scheme and evaluate the performance of the proposed control scheme with those of the conventional control schemes.

  • The Stratospheric Airship Platform (SAP) has a capability of performing the autonomous and guidance flight to satisfy given missions. To be used as the High Altitude Platforms (HAPs), the capabilities of controlling platform's accurate position and keeping the station point are the most important features. Under this circumstances Autonomous Flight Control System (AFCS) is a critical system and plays a key role in achieving the given requirements and succeeding in missions. In this paper, the design and analysis results of the AFCS algorithms and controller are presented. The brief summary of the AFCS hardware structure is also explained. The autopilot controller and guidance logics were designed based on the linear dynamics of the unmanned airship platform and the full nonlinear dynamics was considered to evaluate and verify their performances.

24V-500W급 소형전동차용 DC모터 속도 콘트롤러 개발 (Development of A DC Motor Controller for 24V-500W Small Electric Vehicle)

  • 본 논문에서는 DC모터의 출력특성을 개선할 수 있는 새로운 구조의 DC모터 구동회로를 설계하였고 이 회로를 이용한 콘트롤러를 개발하였다. 설계된 구동 회로에 의하여 콘트롤러는 자체발진회로의 스위칭 신호를 갖는 트랜스포머를 이용하여 연속적으로 DC모터를 구동할 수 있다. 또한 최대속도시, 제어회로의 기준전압 값을 삼각파보다 높게 유지할 수 있고 모터 구동 FET를 항상 온 값을 가지도록 하여 최대출력을 얻을 수 있도록 한다. 제안된 구동회로를 활용하여 24V-500W급 DC모터속도 컨트롤러를 개발하였고 소형전동차를 제작하고 구동시험을 실시하였다. 구동테스트 및 특성 측정결과, 구동전류 12A로써 DC모터의 전진 및 후진 속도를 연속 가변 할 수 있음을 보였다. 그 밖에 과전류 감시기능, 모터과열 감시기능의 정상동작을 확인하였으며, 배터리 잔량이 20~100%까지 6단계로 표시할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Dual electromagnetic sensor is used for sensing the weld line. The sensor consists of excitation and two sensing coil wound over the ferro-magnetic core. By using the dual sensor, the effect of noise is minimized. It is based on the generation of eddy currents in the welding plate by passing current through the excitation coil. The sensor can be used to track the butt joints having no gap between them, where a vision based sensor fails to track. Sensor sensitivity depends on the number of coil turns, frequency of excitation, distance of a sensor from the work piece, diameter of core, etc. The whole system consists of a sensor, a signal processing board, a motion controller and a personnel computer (PC). The raw sensor signal is processed using the signal processing board. It consists of amplification, rectification, filtering, averaging, offset adjustment, etc. Based on sensor data, the motion controller adjusts the position of a welding torch.

  • 퍼지논리제어기는 산업응용에 광범위하게 연구되고 있으며, 계속적으로 사용되고 있다. 그러나 퍼지집합의 조정을 통해 최적규칙을 구축하기 위하여, 시행착오에 의한 매우 능숙한 기술이 요구된다. 이 논문에서는 첫째로, 퍼지논리제어기와 기존의 PID 제어기로 구성된 하이브리드 퍼지제어기를 제안한다. 즉, 시스템의 제어 입력은 퍼지변수로서, 과도상태에서의 FLC출력과 정상상태에서의 PID 출력의 컨벡스(convex) 결합이다. 둘째로, 간략추론법과 개선된 컴플렉스방법을 이용한 강력한 자동동조알고리즘이 퍼지논리제어기의 성능을 자동적으로 개선하기 위하여 사용된다. 이방법은 오차변화율및 제어출력의 제한조건에 의하여, 언어제어규칙, 퍼지계수(scaling factor), PID계수, 하이브리드 퍼지논리제어기의 하중계수의 최적값을 자동적으로 추정한다. 시뮬레이션은 시간지연 플랜트및 하수처리시스템의 활성오니공정과 같은 비선형 플랜트에서 실행되고, 시스템의 성능은 평가지수 ITAE로 평가된다.

Real-Time Maximum Power Point Tracking Method Based on Three Points Approximation by Digital Controller for PV System

  • This paper proposes the new method based on the availability of three points measurement and convexity of photovoltaic (PV) curve characteristic at the maximum power point (MPP). In general, the MPP tracking (MPPT) function is the important part of all PV systems due to their power-voltage (P-V) characteristics related with weather conditions. Then, the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and low pass filter (LPF) are required to measure the voltage and current for MPPT by the digital controller, which is used to implement the PV power conditioning system (PCS). The measurement and quantization error due to rounding or truncation in ADC and the delay of LPF might degrade the reliability of MPPT. To overcome this limitation, the proposed method is proposed while improving the performances in both steady-state and dynamic responses based on the detailed investigation of its properties for availability and convexity. The performances of proposed method are evaluated with the several case studies by the PSCAD/EMTDC$^{(R)}$ simulation. Then, the experimental results are given to verify its feasibility in real-time.

표적 추적 성능 최적화 및 충돌 회피를 위한 다수 에이전트 분산 제어 (Decentralized Control of Multiple Agents for Optimizing Target Tracking Performance and Collision Avoidance)

  • A decentralized control method is proposed to enable a group of robots to achieve maximum performance in multisensory target tracking while avoiding collision with the target. The decentralized control was designed based on navigation function formalism. The study showed that the multiple agent system converged to the positions providing the maximum performance by the decentralized controller, based on Lyapunov and Hessian theory. An exemplary simulation was given for a multiple agent system tracking a stationary target.

  • This paper presents a high performance AC propulsion system for electric car to improve traction capability. The presented VVVF inverter was composed of as GTO thyristor and the the controller was fully digitalized by using 32bit DSP. The improved PWM algorithms and the new adhesion control were adapted to improve traction characteristics. This system could be possible the higher reliability and flexibility. The field test results showed the higher performances characteristics of the presented system.

Sliding Mode Attitude Control for Momentum-Biased Spacecraft

  • In this paper, we present a sliding mode control strategy for the re-orientation maneuver of rigid spacecraft containing rotating wheels. The wheels are considered as internal devices, and external inputs are employed for generation of control commands. The formulation is developed for a general case while particular example is applied to pitch bias momentum spacecraft with a single momentum wheel. The resultant control commands are used to take the gyroscopic effects into account which are caused by the rotating wheels. The controller designed demonstrates that the nutational motion of the pitch bias momentum spacecraft is effectively controlled. It is also assumed that the external control torque device is of on-off nature, and pulse width modulation technique is applied to construct proper control torque history.
