  • A microstrip dual-wideband bandpass filter using a multimode resonator (MMR) is proposed in this letter. The proposed MMR loaded with a T-shaped open-ended stub and a short-ended stub exhibits triple mode characteristics, and a synthesis method is developed to illustrate the wide passband with independently controllable center frequencies and bandwidths. To verify this design methodology, a dual-wideband filter with fractional bandwidths of 19.1% and 27.9% is designed and fabricated. The measured results agree with the simulations.

  • We propose a compact high-order(9th) UHF bandpass filter comprising the composite right-handed and left-handed(CRLH) zeroth-order resonators(ZORs) in the form of the three cascaded-triplets(CTs) newly applied to the ZOR filter which results in very steep skirt. The method is verified by circuit and EM simulations and measurement with metamaterial properties.

  • A digital bandpass filter method is investigated for the data treatment in tile measurement of the reactor transfer function. It was found that the technique is very effective in eliminating the effects of external noise. A computer code was programmed for this method. The frequency response of a digital filter is calculated, and the data treatment with this method using a digital computer was illustrated for triangular and square waveforms. Error and restriction involved in use of this method are discussed.

  • A novel RF tunable bandpass filter structure using dielectric resonators and varactor diodes is considered for the optimization to achieve constant bandwidth with minimum passband insertion loss. The coupling between resonators is realized by coupling windows and series lumped L, C elements are used to realize the input/output stage couplings. A 5 poles, 0.01 dB ripple Chebyshev type filter tuned from 800 MHz~900 MHz is designed and presented in this paper. The passband bandwidth for the design is 10 MHz (fractional bandwidth = 1.2 %). Experimental results show that the 3 dB passband bandwidth variation is 12.04 MHz~12.16 MHz (less than 1 %) and passband insertion loss is 15 dB~7 dB depending on the tuning voltages.

  • We propose a bandpass filter using wavelength selectivity as variation of writing beam incident angle in photorefractive crystal. From TWM(Two-Wave Mixing) experiment, optimal diffraction properties are induced, and bandpass filter for selection wavelength transmission bandwidth are taken by change of writing beam incident angle.

  • In this paper, we propose an active tunable bandpass filter (BPF) for efficient spectrum sensing in the TV White Space (TVWS) band. By designing a narrow bandwidth, it is possible to improve the sensing probability. The basic circuit configuration involves switching the PIN diode compromising capacitor bank to change the capacitance of the LC resonant circuit. To cover the whole TVWS band effectively, we add a varactor diode, and the bandwidth is set to 25-MHz. We improve the insertion loss by using the active capacitance circuit. The tunable BPF in the TVWS band with a 20-MHz interval is designed to have 11 channels with a bandwidth of 25 MHz and a low insertion loss of 1.7-2.0 dB.

  • In this paper, a bandpass filter with excellent cut off characteristic due to transmission zero using bypass coupling capacitor and with superior harmonic characteristic by interdigital capacitor is suggested. The measurement results for SIR bandpass filter with bypass coupling capacitor and interdigital capacitor show that the insertion loss is less than 1.9 dB and the return loss is better than 15.4 dB with 4.2 % bandwidth at the center frequency of 5.78 GHz.

  • In this paper, the design of a new bandpass filter based on the modified circular mushroom metamaterial structure is proposed. In detail, half circular mushroom cells are used as the zeroth order resonators(ZOR), and an intermediate gap is adopted to introduce the coupling between neighboring ZOR resonators. The proposed bandpass filter design is validated by the circuit and 3D EM simulations and measurements compared to the target specifications, and the metamaterial properties are proved by the ZOR field distributions and dispersion diagram. Also, the effect of size reduction is addressed.

  • This paper proposes a new design method of bandpass filter with single dual-mode resonator. In the proposed method, a coupling coefficient between two resonators was obtained by considering a dual-mode resonator as two single resonators. Based on the obtained coupling coefficient, two resonant frequencies of dual-mode resonator were calculated and then arranged according to a transmission zero's location of required filter. To verify the proposed theory, two WLAN bandpass filters which have a transmission zero to a lower and an upper stopband repectively were designed and implemented.
