It is well known that urgency resulted from time stress can be a great cause to industrial accidents. Therefore, time stress has been studied in the aspect of macroscopic view, namely industrial safety management, but has not been studied in microscopic view such as psychophysiological approach. Among diverse psychophysiological indices, Electroencephalogram(EEG) would be on of the most objective psychophysiological research technique on human errors though few research has been taken yet. This study aimed to get characteristics of human error while committing a simple arithmetic addition task by utilizing the power spectrum technique of EEG data. Each experiment was composed of 2 tasks under different condition - with and without time stress. As subjects, 5 young undergraduate students in their early twenties participated in this study. The results advocated a well-known fact that time stress downgrades the performance of human workers. However, correct answer rate and response time were not significantly influenced by time stress factor which might be explained by the constructural factor adopted in the present study. As in the previous studies, among various EEG-related measures, relative band power ratios of ${\alpha}$ and ${\beta}$ waves to sum of ${\alpha}$,${\beta}$,${\theta}$ wave powers, namely $P_{{\alpha}/({\alpha}+{\beta}+{\theta})}$ and $P_{{\beta}/({\alpha}+{\beta}+{\theta})}$ seemed to be the most effective measures to grasp variation of brain activities in time-stressed situation so that discussions were expanded about their variations.
Diazepam, a benzodiazepine (BDZ) agonist, produces sedation and flumazenil, a BDZ antagonist, blocks these actions. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of BDZs on cortical electroencephalogram (EEG) in rats. The recording electrodes were implanted over the frontal and parietal cortices bilaterally, and the reference and ground electrodes over cerebellum under ketamine anesthesia. To assess the effects of diazepam and flumazenil, rats were injected with diazepam (1 mgHg, i.p.) and/or flumazenil ( 1 mg/kg, i.p.), and the EEG was recorded before and after drugs. Normal awake had theta peak in the spectrum and low amplitude waves, while normal sleep showed large amplitude of slow waves. The powers of delta, theta and alpha bands were increased during sleep compared with during awake. Diazepam reduced the mobility of the rat and induced sleep with intermittent fast spindles and large amplitude of slow activity, and it produced broad peak over betaL band and increased the power of gamma band, which were different from EEG patterns in normal sleep. Saline injection awakened rats and abolished fast spindles for a short period about 2-5 min from EEG pattern during diazepam-induced sleep. Flumazenil blocked both diazepam-induced sleep and decreased the slow activities of delta, theta, alpha and betaL, but not of gamma activity for about 10 min or more. This study may indicate that decrease in power of betaL and betaH bands can be used as the measure of central action of benzodiazepines, and that the EEG parameters of benzodiazepines have to be measured without control over the behavioral state by experimenter.

We tried to investigate the changes in cortical activities according to emotional valence states during watching video clips. We examined the neural basis of two emotional states (positive and negative) using spectral power analysis and brain functional connectivity analysis of cortical current density time-series reconstructed from high-density electroencephalograms (EEGs). Fifteen healthy participants viewed a series of thirty-two 2 min emotional video clips. Sixty-four channel EEGs were recorded. Distributed cortical sources were reconstructed using weighted minimum norm estimation. The temporal and spatial characteristics of spectral source powers showing significant differences between positive and negative emotion were examined. Also, correlations between gamma-band activities and affective valence ratings were determined. We observed the changes of cortical current density time-series according to emotional states modulated by video clip. Gamma-band activities showed significant difference between emotional states for thirty seconds at the middle and the latter half of the video clip, mainly in prefrontal area. It was also significantly anti-correlated with the self-ratings of emotional valence. In addition, the gamma-band activities in frontal and temporal areas were strongly phase-synchronized, more strongly for negative emotional states. Cortical activities in frontal and temporal areas showed high spectral power and inter-regional phase synchronization in gamma-band during negative emotional states. It is inferred that the higher amygdala activation induced by negative stimuli resulted in strong emotional effects and caused strong local and global synchronization of neural activities in gamma-band in frontal and temporal areas.
Electroencephalogram(EEG) would be the most objective psychophysiological research technique on human errors though few research has been taken yet. This study aimed to get characteristics of human error while committing simple Odd-Ball tasks by utilizing the power spectrum technique of EEG data. Each experiment was composed of 3 tasks with different rules, and three young undergraduate students participated in this study as paid subjects. The result showed that subject and the interaction of subject and task factors were statistically significant on variation of power of $\alpha$ and $\beta$ bands which implied there would exist groups with homogeneity in their response. And though the variation of band powers due to task factors were not so great as to get statistical significance, it implied that the task requiring decoding process would be more strange to human beings than the task merely requiring psychological recall process.

Recently, Silicon Germanium (SiGe) alloys have been received considerable attention for their great potentials in advanced electronic and optoelectronic devices. Especially, microcrystalline SiGe is a good channel material for thin film transistor due to its advantages such as narrow and variable band gap and process compatibility with Si based integrated circuits. In this work, microcrystalline silicon-germanium films (${\mu}c$-SiGe) were deposited by DC/RF magnetron co-sputtering method using Si and Ge target on Corning glass substrates. The film composition was controlled by changing DC and RF powers applied to each target. The substrate temperatures were changed from $100^{\circ}C$ to $450^{\circ}C$. The microstructure of the thin films was analyzed by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. The analysis results showed that the crystallinity of the films enhances with increasing Ge mole fraction. Also, crystallization temperature was reduced to $300^{\circ}C$ with $H_2$ dilution. Hall measurements indicated that the electrical properties were improved by Ge alloying.
In this paper some of the important trends in the spacecraft technology development have been discussed. Trends of higher satellite radiate power, which involves higher TWTA powers and antenna reconfiguration, and Ka-band (30/20 G $H_{z}$) utilization are discussed. Evolutionary trends in satellite communications in general have demonstrated immense potential for meeting the evolving nees and challenges regarding provision of global telecommunications during over past two decades. Their promise for the coming decades as we enter the 21st century may far surpass our imagination. The expansion of fixed satellite service market will depend upon more inelligent spacecraft and a network of more cost effective small earth stations. Radiation hardened microwave analog technologies and high speed digital technologies are getting ready to meet the challenge posed by future markets. At present commercial satellite communications are going through a trasition period.d.

Component-based method for load model not only should include the performances of the load components, but also should take into consideration the core losses of transformers, the line losses and the capacitor banks. Especially, capacitor bank affects the accuracy of reactive load model in load modeling. But it is difficult to identify actual reactive powers of capacitor banks in power system for load modeling. This research improves the component-based modeling method including uncertain capacitor bank. The proposed method is hybrid technique, which adds the measurement-based method to the existing component-based method for reliable information of capacitor band. The results of case studies were presented to verify the validity of the proposed method.

In addition to its similarity to genuine diamond film, diamond-like carbon (DLC) film has many advantages, including its wide band gap and variable refractive index. In this study, DLC films were prepared by the RF PECVD (Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition) method on silicon substrates using methane ($CH_4$) and hydrogen ($H_2$) gas. We examined the effects of the RF power on the electrical properties of the DLC films. The films were deposited at several RF powers ranging from 50 to 175 W in steps of 25 W. The leakage current of DLC films increased at higher deposition RF power. And the resistivities of DLC films grown at 50 W and 175 W were $5\times10^{11}$${\Omega}cm$ and $2.68\times10^{10}$${\Omega}cm$, respectively.

The aim of this study was to investigate the evidential value of blue and black ballpoint pens on paper by nondestructive techniques. In this work, 21 blue and 22 black ballpoint pens which were purchased on different brands were analyzed by Raman Spectroscopy and Video Spectral Comparator (VSC). Surface-Enhanced Resonance Raman Spectroscopy (SERRS) with excitation at 685 nm and VSC with several spot light filters were used for the discrimination of ballpoint pen inks. In the SERR spectra, the ballpoint pen inks on paper could be shown sharp spectral bands and distinguished by their band shapes and relative intensities. In the blue and black ballpoint pen inks, the discriminating powers (DP) by SERRS were 0.85 and 0.67 and the DP by VSC were 0.88 and 0.90, respectively. The DP by combined sequence of techniques was all 0.97 in both black and blue ballpoint pen inks.

Tin oxide thin films were prepared on borosilicate glass by rf reactive sputtering at different deposition powers, process pressures and substrate temperatures. The ratio of oxygen/argon gas flow was fixed as 10 sccm / 60 sccm in this study. The structural, electrical and optical properties were examined by the design of experiment to evaluate the optimized processing conditions. The Taguchi method was used in this study. The films were characterized by X-ray diffraction, UV-Vis spectrometer, Hall effect measurements and atomic force microscope. Tin oxide thin films exhibited three types of crystal structures, namely, amorphous, SnO and $SnO_2$. In the case of amorphous thin films the optical band gap was widely spread from 2.30 to 3.36 eV and showed n-type conductivity. While the SnO thin films had an optical band gap of 2.24-2.49 eV and revealed p-type conductivity, the $SnO_2$ thin films showed an optical band gap of 3.33-3.63 eV and n-type conductivity. Among the three process parameters, the plasma power had the most impact on changing the structural, electrical and optical properties of the tin oxide thin films. It was also found that the grain size of the tin oxide thin films was dependent on the substrate temperature. However, the substrate temperature has very little effect on electrical and optical properties.
