A Time Synchronization Protocol of Sensor Nodes Combining Flooding-Routing Protocol with Bidirectional LTS (플러딩 라우팅 프로토콜과 양방향 LTS를 결합한 센서 노드의 시간 동기화 기법)

  • In wireless sensor networks Time synchronization used to be performed after routing tree is constructed. It results in increasing the number of packets and energy consumption. In this paper, we propose a time synchronization algorithm combined with flooding routing tree construction algorithm, which applies LTS (Lightweight Time Synchronization) information packed into the forwarding and backward routing packets. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm compensates the time error due to clock drift using the round time with fixed period. We prove that the proposed algorithm could synchronize the time of among sensor nodes more accurately compared to TSRA (Time Synchronization Routing Algorithm) using NS2 simulation tool.

  • This paper is an analysis the performance of CDMA system using array antenna beamforming technique in wireless channels. Adaptive array beamforming antenna technique combine receive signal amplitude with phase in array antenna element, and can be incremental spatial filter function a direction of arrival signal using weight value. Through simulation, in this paper, we were an analysis to compare bit error rate of forward and backward channels using array antenna beamforming technique in order to interference signal decrease of CDMA fading enviroment. The result simulation, we get spatial diversity effect by using array antenna system, and improved the performance to MAI interference decrease.

  • As the number of autonomous vehicles is increased, drivers are trending toward constant interests in detecting distance between vehicles in close-range and maintaining the distance between forward and backward vehicles for drivers' safety. In this paper, we propose a method of detecting the distance between two vehicles by computing the disparity of the close-rang vehicle using stereo vision. The boundary of the vehicle is obtained by using the modified wavelet transform which has multi-resolution characteristics. Then the disparity between left and right images is computed using coarse-to-fine method and histogram matching. Here we transform the left-right stereo images through 3-steps using the modified wavelet for maintaining the original resolution. An experimental result showed that the proposed method had 4.65% in total error rate.

  • Kinematic global positioning system precise point positioning (GPS PPP) technology is widely used to the several area such as monitoring of crustal movement and precise orbit determination (POD) using the dual-frequency GPS observations. In this study we developed a kinematic PPP technology and applied 3-pass (forward/backward/forward) filter for the stabilization of the initial state of the parameters to be estimated. For verification of results, we obtained GPS data sets from six international GPS reference stations (ALGO, AMC2, BJFS, GRAZ, IENG and TSKB) and processed in daily basis by using the developed software. As a result, the mean position errors by kinematic PPP showed 0.51 cm in the east-west direction, 0.31 cm in the north-south direction and 1.02 cm in the up-down direction. The root mean square values produced from them were 1.59 cm for the east-west component, 1.26 cm for the south-west component and 2.95 cm for the up-down component.

  • 한국어 의존 파싱은 문장 내 단어의 지배소를 찾음으로써 문장의 구조적 중의성을 해소하는 작업이다. 지배소 후위 원칙은 단어의 지배소는 자기 자신보다 뒤에 위치한다는 원리로, 한국어 구문분석을 위하여 널리 사용되는 원리이다. 본 연구에서는 한국어 지배소 후위 원리를 의존 파싱을 위한 트랜지션 시스템의 제약 조건으로 적용하여 2가지 트랜지션 시스템을 제안한다. 제안 모델은 기존 트랜지션 시스템 중 널리 사용되는 arc-standard와 arc-eager 알고리즘에 지배소 후위 제약을 적용한 포워드(forward) 기반 트랜지션 시스템과, 트랜지션 시스템의 단점인 에러 전파(error propagation)를 완화시키기 위하여 arc-eager 알고리즘의 lazy-reduce 방식을 적용한 백워드(backward) 기반 트랜지션 시스템이다. 실험은 세종 구구조 말뭉치를 의존구조로 변환하여 실험하였고, 실험 결과 백워드 기반 트랜지션 시스템이 포워드 방식보다 우수한 성능을 보였다. 기존 연구와의 비교를 위하여 기존 연구를 조사하였지만 세부 실험 환경이 서로 달라서 직접적인 비교는 어려웠다. 제안하는 시스템의 최고 성능은 UAS 92.85%, LAS 90.82% 이다.

Design of AT-DMB Baseband Receiver SoC

  • This paper presents the design of an advanced terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (AT-DMB) baseband receiver SoC. The AT-DMB baseband is incorporated into a hierarchical modulation scheme consisting of high priority (HP) and low priority (LP) stream decoders. The advantages of the hierarchical modulation scheme are backward compatibility and an enhanced data rate. The structure of the HP stream is the same as that of the conventional T-DMB system; therefore, a conventional T-DMB service is possible by decoding multimedia data in an HP stream. An enhanced data rate can be achieved by using both HP and LP streams. In this paper, we also discuss a time deinterleaver that can deinterleave data for a time duration of 384 ms or 768 ms. The interleaving time duration is chosen using the LP symbol mapping scheme. Furthermore, instead of a Viterbi decoder, a turbo decoder is adopted as an inner error correction system to mitigate the performance degradation due to a smaller symbol distance in a hierarchically modulated LP symbol. The AT-DMB baseband receiver SoC is fabricated using 0.13 ${\mu}m$ technology and shows successful operation with a 50 mW power dissipation.

A Real-time and Off-line Localization Algorithm for an Inpipe Robot by Detecting Elbows (엘보 인식에 의한 배관로봇의 실시간 위치 추정 및 후처리 위치 측정 알고리즘)

  • Robots used for pipe inspection have been studied for a long time and many mobile mechanisms have been proposed to achieve inspection tasks within pipelines. Localization is an important factor for an inpipe robot to perform successful autonomous operation. However, sensors such as GPS and beacons cannot be used because of the unique characteristics of inpipe conditions. In this paper, an inpipe localization algorithm based on elbow detection is presented. By processing the projected marker images of laser pointers and the attitude and heading data from an IMU, the odometer module of the robot determines whether the robot is within a straight pipe or an elbow and minimizes the integration error in the orientation. In addition, an off-line positioning algorithm has been performed with forward and backward estimation and Procrustes analysis. The experimental environment has consisted of several straight pipes and elbows, and a map of the pipeline has been constructed as the result.

  • The contact procedure of access channel necessary to set up the originating call has a close relation with the performance and capacity of the base station system in CDMA cellular network. This paper investigates the structure and the operation of the backward channel of IS-95 CDMA standard and explains the related system parameters. We can derive the throughput of the CDMA access channel depending on the arrivals of the access probes per access channel slot, given the system parameters such as cell radius, the maximum number of retransmission, and the error rates of the access and paging channel. It shows that the performance in throughput is much better in the CDMA IS-95 access channel than in the slotted aloha channel. It also gives the reasonable number of the trafic channels in a cell with the given blocking probability.

  • Recently, novice driver or weak drivers was difficult to understand the movement characteristics of the car and are immature sense of width and length of the car according to various each driver's sex and age, model. To complement this problem, the use of rear sensor and the camera is increased. And the parking assistance system that improves the convenience of parking the driver is being developed. Accordingly, parking guide system is needed to reflect the difference in the steering angle and correct the error distance. In this study, it is proposed that the turning radius during backward by complementing the existing Ackerman Jentaud type. And it develops more accurate parking guideline to be able to generat algorithm by applying the formula to propose a steering wheel angle sensor value derived through the handle.

  • This study proposed a fault tolerant control algorithm for electro-hydraulic brake systems where permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive is adopted to boost the braking pressure. To cope with motor position sensor faults in the PMSM drive, a braking pressure controller based on an open-loop speed control method for the PMSM was proposed. The magnitude of the current vector was determined from the target braking pressure, and motor rotational speed was derived from the pressure control error to build up the braking pressure. The position offset of the pump piston resulting from a leak in the hydraulic system is also compensated for using the open-loop speed control by moving the piston backward until it is blocked at the end of stroke position. The performance and stability of the proposed controller were experimentally verified. According to the results, the control algorithm can be utilized as an effective means of degraded control for electro-hydraulic brake systems in the case that a motor position sensor fault occurs.
