가우시안 혼합 모델을 이용한 이동 객체 검출 알고리듬의 하드웨어 구현 (A Hardware Implementation of Moving Object Detection Algorithm using Gaussian Mixture Model)

  • 가우시안 혼합 모델(GMM)과 배경 차분 기법을 이용한 이동 객체 검출(MOD) 알고리듬을 하드웨어로 구현하였다. 구현된 MOD 프로세서는 EGML(Effective Gaussian Mixture Learning)을 기반으로 배경을 생성하고 업데이트하며, EGML 계산 일부의 근사화를 통해 하드웨어 복잡도를 줄였고, 파이프라이닝 기법을 통해 동작속도를 개선하였다. 또한 가우시안 파라미터들을 가변시킬 수 있도록 함으로써 다양한 조건에서 이동 객체 검출 성능이 향상되도록 구현하였다. 설계된 회로는 FPGA-in-the-loop방식으로 하드웨어 동작을 검증하였으며, XC5VSX95T FPGA 디바이스에서 최대 109 MHz의 클록 주파수로 동작 가능한 것으로 평가되었다.

  • 오토인코더(Autoencoder)는 입력 계층과 출력 계층이 동일한 딥러닝의 일종으로 은닉 계층의 제약 조건을 이용하여 입력 벡터의 특징을 효과적으로 추출하고 복원한다. 본 논문에서는 CAPTCHA 이미지 중 하나의 숫자와 자연배경이 혼재된 영역을 대상으로 일련의 다양한 오토인코더 모델들을 적용하여 잡음인 자연배경을 제거하고 숫자 이미지만을 복원하는 방법들을 제시한다. 제시하는 복원 이미지의 적합성은 오토인코더의 출력을 입력으로 하는 소프트맥스 함수를 활성화 함수로 사용하여 검증하고, CAPTCHA 정보를 자동으로 획득하는 다른 방법들과 비교하여, 본 논문에서 제시하는 방법의 우수함을 검증하였다.

마을평생교육리더 양성과정 참여자의 프로그램 만족도 (A Study on Program Satisfaction of Participants in the Leader Course of Village Lifelong Learning)

  • This study is the purpose to analyze the satisfaction of training course for the village lifelong education leader who will act as the village lifelong education leaders in the future. The data were collected from 197 the participants who have learned the training course for village lifelong education leaders among 7 local governments. The collected questionnaires were statistically treated by using SPSS (Version 17.0) program and frequency, T-test, and ANOVA. The major findings of this study were as follow; 1) the satisfaction of women's learners to the training course of village lifelong education leaders is high. 2) the satisfaction of low ages to training course for village lifelong education leaders is high. 3) the satisfaction of high educational background learners to training course for village lifelong education leaders is high. 4) the satisfaction of high income background learners to training course for village lifelong education leaders is high. 5) the satisfaction of much learning experience learners to lifelong education is high. 6) the highest among the satisfaction level of the program participants for village lifelong education is the staff service of lifelong education organization.

시간에 따라 변화하는 빗줄기 장면을 이용한 딥러닝 기반 비지도 학습 빗줄기 제거 기법 (Deep Unsupervised Learning for Rain Streak Removal using Time-varying Rain Streak Scene)

  • Single image rain removal is a typical inverse problem which decomposes the image into a background scene and a rain streak. Recent works have witnessed a substantial progress on the task due to the development of convolutional neural network (CNN). However, existing CNN-based approaches train the network with synthetically generated training examples. These data tend to make the network bias to the synthetic scenes. In this paper, we present an unsupervised framework for removing rain streaks from real-world rainy images. We focus on the natural phenomena that static rainy scenes capture a common background but different rain streak. From this observation, we train siamese network with the real rain image pairs, which outputs identical backgrounds from the pairs. To train our network, a real rainy dataset is constructed via web-crawling. We show that our unsupervised framework outperforms the recent CNN-based approaches, which are trained by supervised manner. Experimental results demonstrate that the effectiveness of our framework on both synthetic and real-world datasets, showing improved performance over previous approaches.

아동문학과 영어교육-텍스트 활용 방안에 대한 연구 (Children's Literature in Teaching English As a Foreign Language: A Study of Literary Text Application)

  • This study proposes using children's literature as a means of teaching and learning English as a foreign language and suggests practical strategies on the basis of transactional theory of reading suggested by Rosenblatt (1994, 1995). This study suggests three novels written for children or young adults: On My Honor (1986) by Marion Dane Bauer, The Giver (1993) by Lois Lowry and Hatchet (1987) by Gary Paulsen. These texts were selected because of their diverse topics, easy and comprehensible language, engaging stories, and authentic and rich expressions, making them effective materials for foreign language learners. This paper is organized as follows: First, it reviews research on teaching literature in English education and response-oriented language teaching to provide theoretical background of literature-based language teaching and learning. Second, it provides the background of the texts selected for the study. Third, it develops diverse, practical strategies for instructors who intend to use children's literature in EFL teaching. We expect to guide EFL instructors in adopting children's literature in their English class by connecting theory and practice and by providing diverse methods and strategies, and sample responses by EFL university students.

Hypothetical Study of Student's Academic Performance influenced by Parent's Educational and Financial Status

  • This research is conducted in order to analyze the student's academic performance at the secondary school level in Sindh province of Pakistan. The study was focused on the students who have passed the Matriculation level recently. The sample of size equal to 1097 secondary level students was randomly selected in a way that from each college roughly up to 150 students took part in the survey. The sample selection was further divided on gender (Male=448, Female=649) and Locale (Urban=456, Rural=641). A survey questionnaire was circulated for data collection. The statistical analysis based on Pearson's Chi-Square and Correlation models were carried out using the collected data. The conclusion was drawn from results that strongly revealed that the student's academic achievement at high school level was highly associated to their parent's educational level and socio-economic background. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that the financial condition of the population must be enhanced by taking suitable measures. The affected students should be awarded adequate financial assistance or scholarships to face such hardships of their learning career. Free laptops, learning materials, books, and stationery should also be provided.

여성건강 교수-학습과정에서의 원격영상강의 시스템 적용 (Application of Distance Videoconferencing on Women's Health Teaching-Learning Process)

  • The goal of women's health education can be defined as improvement of the quality of their life during entire life cycle. In Korean society, women's well-being is very important to themselves as well as their families, communities. and country. Thus it is important to systematize information on women's health education. These systematized information can be used in preparation of coming 21st century called information era. Unfortunately there have been few studies in women's health education research in Korea especially distance education for women's health related with korean socio-cultural background, etc. Distance education has been internationally used in a variety of settings as a means of providing health education information. The objective of this study was to apply and evaluate a multimedia videoconferencing on women's health distance teaching-learning process. In this study I'd like to design multimedia digital educational material used in the distance teaching-learning process for women's health, and to practice a multimedia videoconferencing on women's health distance teaching-learning processs. The procedures of this study were summarized as follows ; 1. Analysis of subjects' characteristics and education contents and for women's health. 2. Design of a multimedia videoconferencing on women's health distance teaching-learning process. 3. Development of women's health distance teaching-1earning process. 4. Evaluation of developed digital multimedia and distance teaching-learning process related with women's health These results will be used in development of the distance-learning education program for improving Korean women's health. Findings su99est that the advanced methodologies for designing and evaluating the women's health distance teaching-learning programs be obtained through the collaboration with other field's staffs.

Feasibility Study of Google's Teachable Machine in Diagnosis of Tooth-Marked Tongue

  • Background: A Teachable Machine is a kind of machine learning web-based tool for general persons. In this paper, the feasibility of Google's Teachable Machine (ver. 2.0) was studied in the diagnosis of the tooth-marked tongue. Methods: For machine learning of tooth-marked tongue diagnosis, a total of 1,250 tongue images were used on Kaggle's web site. Ninety percent of the images were used for the training data set, and the remaining 10% were used for the test data set. Using Google's Teachable Machine (ver. 2.0), machine learning was performed using separated images. To optimize the machine learning parameters, I measured the diagnosis accuracies according to the value of epoch, batch size, and learning rate. After hyper-parameter tuning, the ROC (receiver operating characteristic) analysis method determined the sensitivity (true positive rate, TPR) and specificity (false positive rate, FPR) of the machine learning model to diagnose the tooth-marked tongue. Results: To evaluate the usefulness of the Teachable Machine in clinical application, I used 634 tooth-marked tongue images and 491 no-marked tongue images for machine learning. When the epoch, batch size, and learning rate as hyper-parameters were 75, 0.0001, and 128, respectively, the accuracy of the tooth-marked tongue's diagnosis was best. The accuracies for the tooth-marked tongue and the no-marked tongue were 92.1% and 72.6%, respectively. And, the sensitivity (TPR) and specificity (FPR) were 0.92 and 0.28, respectively. Conclusion: These results are more accurate than Li's experimental results calculated with convolution neural network. Google's Teachable Machines show good performance by hyper-parameters tuning in the diagnosis of the tooth-marked tongue. We confirmed that the tool is useful for several clinical applications.

한국과 중국의 블렌디드 러닝 분야의 연구동향 비교 (Comparison of Research Trends in Blended Learning in Korea and China)

  • 블렌디드 러닝은 능동적 학습을 촉진하고 학생의 학습 효과를 향상하기 위해 교육에서 가장 많이 사용되는 방법의 하나로 꼽히며 대학이 학습자를 유치하는 가장 효과적인 방법의 하나로 간주한다. 이 논문은 문화차원 이론을 바탕으로 문화적으로 유사하면서도 차이점을 보유하고 있는 한중 양국에서 블렌디드 러닝이 이루어지는 연구 동향을 분석한다. 연구 방법은 키워드 분석 및 시각화를 이용하였고 데이터는 WoS, KISS, CNKI에서 1990년부터 2022년 6월까지 게재된 블렌디드 러닝 관련 논문을 수집하여 분석을 진행했다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 보편화된 연구주제였던 블렌디드 러닝이 코로나 발생 이후부터 다양한 연구 분야 클러스터가 형성되어 세분되고 있다. 한국과 중국도 글로벌 연구 동향과 흡사하면서 각자 색다른 연구 동향이 보인다. 문화차원이론으로 분석하면 특히 절제와 장기지향적인 공통된 패턴이 보인다. 이 연구의 기대효과는 국가 문화가 교육과 연구의 패턴을 형성하는데 어떤 역할을 하는지에 대해 파악할 수 있다는 것이다. 또한 다문화 교육환경 속에서 효과적인 학습효과를 지닌 블렌디드 러닝을 개발하는데 유의미한 시사점을 제시할 수 있다.

대조적 학습을 활용한 주요 프레임 검출 방법 (Key Frame Detection Using Contrastive Learning)

  • 비디오 영상 내 주요 프레임(Key Frame) 검출은 컴퓨터 비전 분야에서 꾸준히 연구되고 있는 분야 중 하나이다. 최근 심층학습(Deep Learning) 기술의 발전으로 비디오 영상에서의 주요 프레임 검출 성능이 향상 되었으나, 다양한 종류의 영상 콘텐츠 및 복잡한 배경으로 인해 여전히 효과적인 학습이 어려운 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 대조적 학습(Contrastive Learning)과 메모리 뱅크(Memory Bank)를 통해 영상의 주요 프레임을 검출하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 입력 프레임과 같은 영상 내 이웃하는 프레임 간 차이와 다른 영상 내 프레임과의 차이를 기반으로 특징 추출 신경망을 학습한다. 이와 같은 대조적 학습을 통해 메모리 뱅크에 주요 프레임을 저장 및 갱신하여 영상의 중복성을 효과적으로 제거한다. 비디오 영상 데이터셋에서의 실험 결과를 통해 제안하는 방법의 성능을 검증하였다.
