The author studied the stability Tualities of stern trawlers in the North Pacific Ocean according to Kato's simple judging method. The author selected 1,000 gross tonnage of A and B types, and calculated each characteristics for various conditions under 5 different free-board and S different KG. Finally, authour obtained some data of stability factors for the two types, and pointed out the zone of safety and danger between stability factor, GM and GZ max. The results obtained here are summarized as follows: The A type of ship is judged that it has the condition of safety when displacement is 2,400 tonnage and the value of K￠ was 3.40m or 3.70m. The B type of ship is judged that it only has the condition of some safety when displacement was 2,400 tonnage and the value of KG is 3.40 m, but ships of the both types have the condition of danger when displacement is 1,300-2,200 tonnage and the value of KG is 3.40-4.60m. Any types of ships under various condition must have appropriate dimensions among GM, free-oard and GZ max for the stability of ships.

For a signal such as speech showing piece-wise linear shape in a very short time period, a nonuniform sampling method based on the inflection point detection (IPD) is proposed to reduce data rate. The method exploits the geometrical characteristics of signal further than the existing local maxima/minima detection (MMD) based sampling method. As results, the reconstructed signal by the interpolation of the IPD based sampled data resembles the original speech more. Computer simulation shows that the proposed IPD based method produces about 9~23 dB improvement over the existing MMD method. To show the usefulness of the IPD technique, it is applied to speech coding, and compared to the continuously variable slope delta modulation (CVSD). The nonuniformly sampled data is binary coded with one bit flag set "1". Noninflection samples are not sent, but only flag bits set 0 are sent. The method shows 0.3 ~ 9 dB SNR and 0.5 ~ 1.3 mean opinion score (MOS) improvements over the CVSD.

Quality characteristics of Yukwa, Korean traditional rice cookie, added with citrus peel (2, 4 and 6%) were investigated. Yukwa was prepared by adding the water homogenate of the peel and the quality characteristics were evaluated by the expansion rate, texture, color, sensory quality and content of total carotenoid, hesperidine and naringin. The expansion rate (1,517~855%) of Yukwa with higher concentrations of citrus peel powder was lower than that of control product (1,740%) and the brittleness followed the same trend. However, the values were in the range of those of the traditional Korean Yukwa. The color of the control Yukwa (L* value: 63.3~49.9, a* value: 10.6~17.8, b* value: 12.6~56.4) was white, but with citrus peel (2~6%) light yellow~yellow (L* value. 63.3~49.9. a* value: 10.6~17.8, b* values: 12.6~56.4). Carotenoid, hesperidin and naringin contents of Yukwa with the addition of peel powder were 0.18~0.51 mg%, 36.55~101.60 mg% and 24.65~70.81 mg%, respectively. The color and the overall acceptability of yukwa with 4% of citrus peel powder were the best. This combination had some orange flavor, but no differences in both sweet and sour taste.

To utilize sea tangle single cell detritus (SCD) as food additive, SCD noodle was developed using mixture model. Flour improved, whereas water decreased texture of SCD noodles. Texture of SCD noodle decreased initially and then increased as SCD content increased. Flour and SCD increased, whereas water decreased $L^*$ and $b^*$ values of dried and cooked noodles. Flour decreased $a^*$ values of dried and cooked noodles, while SCD increased $a^*$ value of cooked noodle. Response constraint coefficient showed SCD influence on texture, and $L^*$ and $b^*$ values of dried and cooked noodles was higher than those of flour and water, whereas water influence on $a^*$ value was higher than those of flour and SCD. Texture and color values fitted nonlinear model with interaction terms for flour-water, flour-SCD, and water-SCD. Optimum mixing ratio value of flour : water : SCD was 63.3 : 31.0 : 3.7%. Sensory evaluation value of SCD noodles was lower than those of industrial and electrolyzed SCD noodles.

In this paper, we propose a hand image segmentation method using the dynamic threshold values on input images with various lighting and background attributes. First, a moving hand silhouette is extracted using the camera input difference images, Next, based on the R,G,B histogram analysis of the extracted hand silhouette area, the threshold interval for each R, G, and B is calculated on run-time. Finally, the hand area is segmented using the thresholding and then a morphology operation, a connected component analysis and a flood-fill operation are performed for the noise removal. Experimental results on various input images showed that our hand segmentation method provides high level of accuracy and relatively fast stable results without the need of the fixed threshold values. Proposed methods can be used in the user interface of mixed reality applications.

This paper presents a new method of multilevel estimation of dithered images. A dithered picture, a two-tone picture which gives the illusion of picture with many shades of gray, is obtained by comparing the gray-level picture which gives the illusion of picture with a position-dependent threshold. When the intensity of a picture element exeeds the threshold it is classified as white: otherwise it is black. In the new estimation scheme, the simulation results show the SNR of the new method is improved 0.7dB compared with the old method. And we propose a new progressive image transmission by employing thie method.

목적： 두 종류의 MR 기종에서 정상 성인의 두개 내 Frontal White Matter와 Basal Ganglia를 대상으로 서로 다른 TE에 대해 MR 분광법을 시행하여 기종 내, 기종간의 정상 값의 차이가 있는지 알아보았다. 대상 및 방법： 신경학, 형태학적으로 이상이 없는 8명의 자원자(평균나이 24세)를 대상으로 하였고 지원자 개개인에게 두 개의 서로 다른 1.5T MR 기종(A, B기종)에서 각각 TE를 달리하여 Frontal White Matter, Basal Ganglia를 대상으로 MR 분광법을 시행하였다. 사용한 pulse sequence는 PRESS 방법이며, TR/TE는 3000/22(25),136(144)msec, 선택체적의 크기는 20$\times$20$\times$20(mm$^3$)로 하였다. MR 기종 A는 manual prescan, B는 automatic prescan을 이용하여 최적의 분광정보를 얻었다. 각각의 MR장치에서 얻은 분광 데이터는 본 기관에서 제작된 S/W로 PC에서 처리하여 각 대사물질 피크 면적의 NAA/Cr, Cho/Cr값을 구하였고, TE값에 따라 MR 기종 내 및 기종간의 정상 값의 차이가 있는지 알아보기 위해 Faired-Comparison t-test(p<0.05)를 이용하여 분석하였다.

오차확산법은 중간조 처리에서 우수한 영상의 재현능력을 갖는 기법이다. 그러나 이의 기법은 경계재현 능력이 미약하며, 주기적인 패턴이 발생하여 영상의 화질을 저하시키는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 경계재현의 능력을 개선하기 위한 경계강조법과 주기적인 패턴 발생을 감소시키기 위한 적응형 임계값 변조를 적용하는 방법을 제안하였다. 경계강조를 위한 임계값을 변조는 원영상의 공간적 기울기 정보를 활용하여 수행하였고, 동시에 기울기 정보를 이용하여 청색잡음 마스크를 적응적으로 적용하는 임계값 변조로 주기적인 패턴의 발생을 감소시키도록 하였다. 적응형 임계값 변조를 적용한 실험에서 영상의 주기적인 패턴이 감소된 보다 선명한 경계강조의 중간조 영상을 얻을 수 있었으며, 객관적인 특성분석을 위한 표시오차의 RAPSD, 거리에 따른 경계상관도 및 로컬 평균 일치도의 분석에서 제안한 기법이 효율적임을 확인하였다.

Purpose: Vitamin $B_{12}$ and folic acid are type of water-soluble vitamin and those work as a secondary vital enzyme, but especially those are involved in the nuclear DNA synthesis. Those are mainly measured in order to diagnose megaloblastic anemia and to assess the storage of folic acid during pregnancy. It is generally known that the hemolyzed serum is useless for folic acid and vitamin $B_{12}$, but it is not easy to abide by this information because our lab (Samkwang Medical Laboratories) is reference laboratory. We tested how much the extent of hemolyzed serum had influence on the results. Materials and Method: We performed the tests of vitamin $B_{12}$, folic acid. For the hemolysis effect study, we used 40 cases. According to the level of A, B and C groups, each group had 10 samples which were mechanically hemolyzed serum. Results: Hemolysis did not affect the vitamin $B_{12}$ results. However in case of folic acid, the value increased according to the degree of hemolysis. And severe hemolyzed cases had the highest value (greater than 20 ng/ml). Conclusions: Preventing the hemolysis, it has to be informed that blood-collecting, separation and storage are performed more carefully. As you see from the above results, hemolyzed serum is not proper for folic acid test, and hemolysis does not affect the results of vitamin $B_{12}$. However, for the more accurate results, it is necessary to avoid hemolysis.

In this paper, we propose single and array antenna with dual linear polarization characteristics for 28 GHz band. The proposed antenna is designed two microstirp feeding structure and Taconic TLY-5 substrate, which is thickness 0.5 mm, and the dielectric constant is 2.2. The size of single patch antenna is 3.4 mm×3.4 mm, and total size of single antenna is 15.11 mm×15.11 mm. Also, the size of array antenna is 3.15 mm×3.15 mm, and total size of array antenna is 21.5 mm×13.97 mm. From the fabrication and measurement results, for 1×2 array antenna, in case of vertical polarization, cross polarization ratios are obtained from 14.23 dB to 20.79 dB and in case of horizontal polarization, cross polarization ratios are obtained from 14.31 dB to 22.74 dB for input port 1. in case of vertical polarization, cross polarization ratios are obtained from 15.75 dB to 25.88 dB and in case of horizontal polarization, cross polarization ratios are obtained from 14.70 dB to 22.82 dB for input port 2.
