Cytohistological Study of Abnormal Cell Division of Arabidopsis Stem Infected with Geminivirus (Geminivirus에 감염된 Arabidopsis 줄기의 이상세포분열에 관한 세포조직학적 연구)

  • The internal structures of Arabidopsis thaliana infected with beet curly top virus (BCTV) were studied by light microscopy. Hyperplasia was observed in the inflorescence stems of Arabidopsis thaliana ecotype Sei-O at 2 weeks after BCTV-Logan inoculation and callus was induced on symptomatic tissues at 4 weeks after virus inoculation. The infection processes were revealed as follows: hyperplasia of phloem tissue, necrosis of hyperplastic phloems, lacuna formation of necrotic tissues, elongation and enlargement of cortex and epidermal cells surrounding the lacuna formed phloem tissues, induction of cell division in the enlarged cortex and epidermal cells, and induction of callus tissue. Callus formation on Arabidopsis was caused by the virus infection, and virus inclusion body was observed in both phloem and callus tissue by azure-A staining.

Open-source robot platform providing offline personalized advertisements (오프라인 맞춤형 광고 제공을 위한 오픈소스 로봇 플랫폼)

  • The performance of the personalized product recommendation system for offline shopping malls is poor compared with the one using online environment information since it is difficult to obtain visitors' characteristic information. In this paper, a mobile robot platform is suggested capable of recommending personalized advertisement using customers' sex and age information provided by Face API of MS Azure Cloud service. The performance of the developed robot is verified through locomotion experiments, and the performance of API used for our robot is tested using sampled images from open Asian FAce Dataset (AFAD). The developed robot could be effective in marketing by providing personalized advertisements at offline shopping malls.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest that the movement expression activity of intellectually disabled people is effective in the learning process of LMA motion recognition based on Kinect sensor. We performed an ICT motion recognition games for intellectually disabled based on movement learning of LMA. The characteristics of the movement through Laban's LMA include the change of time in which movement occurs through the human body that recognizes space and the tension or relaxation of emotion expression. The design and implementation of the motion recognition model will be described, and the possibility of using the proposed motion recognition model is verified through a simple experiment. As a result of the experiment, 24 movement expression activities conducted through 10 learning sessions of 5 participants showed a concordance rate of 53.4% or more of the total average. Learning motion games that appear in response to changes in motion had a good effect on positive learning emotions.   • The paper explains the method to process, analyze and predict traffic patterns in Los Angeles county using Big Data and Machine Learning. The dataset is used from a popular navigating platform in the USA, which tracks information on the road using connected users' devices and also collects reports shared by the users through the app. The dataset mainly consists of information about traffic jams and traffic incidents reported by users, such as road closure, hazards, accidents. The major contribution of this paper is to give a clear view of how the large-scale road traffic data can be stored and processed using the Big Data system - Hadoop and its ecosystem (Hive). In addition, analysis is explained with the help of visuals using Business Intelligence and prediction with classification machine learning model on the sampled traffic data is presented using Azure ML. The process of modeling, as well as results, are interpreted using metrics: accuracy, precision and recall.

  • The Cloud Computing is growing rapidly in the current IT industry. Cloud computing has become a buzzword in relation to Grid & Utility computing. It provides on demand services to customers and customers will pay for what they get. Various "Cloud Service Provider" such as Microsoft Azure, Google Web Services etc. enables the users to access the cloud in cost effective manner. However, security, privacy and integrity of data is a major concern. In this paper various security challenges have been identified and the survey briefs the comprehensive overview of various security issues in cloud computing. The classification of security issues in cloud computing have been studied. In this paper we have discussed security challenges in cloud computing and also list recommended methods available for addressing them in the literature.

  • We propose to design and to implement a recreational and end - of - play robot for symptom relief in patients with depression. The main symptom of depression is the loss of interest and interest in life. The depression diagnosis patient confirms the emotional analysis revealed by his / her robot through the robot, and performs the greeting or ending play. After analyzing the emotions in the expressions after the play, the function of the embodying robot is confirmed by receiving the report. A simple play can not completely cure a patient with a diagnosis of depression, but it can contribute to symptom relief through gradual use. The design of the play-by-play robot is using Q.bo One, an open-source robot that can interact with Thecorpora. Q.bo One's system captures a user's face, takes a picture, passes the value to the Azure server, and checks the emotional analysis before and after the play with the accumulated data.Play is implemented in Rasubian, the OS of Q.bo One, using the programming language Python and interacting with external sensors. The purpose of this paper is to help the symptom relief of depressive patients in a relatively short time with a play robot.

  • This paper, as a conlcusion to this special issue, presents the future work that is being carried out at NTU Singapore in collaboration with Microsoft Research and Microsoft Azure for Research. For our research team the real frontier research in world histories starts when we want to use computers to structure historical information, model historical narratives, simulate theoretical large scale hypotheses, and incent world historians to use virtual assistants and/or engage them in teamwork using social media and/or seduce them with immersive spaces to provide new learning and sharing environments, in which new things can emerge and happen: "You do not know which will be the next idea. Just repeating the same things is not enough" (Carlo Rubbia, 1984 Nobel Price in Physics, at Nanyang Technological University on January 19, 2016).

  • 본 논문에서는 Microsoft Bot Framework와 Microsoft Azure Service, LUIS AI를 활용하여 쇼핑몰 이용에 도움을 주는 쇼핑 챗봇을 설계하고 구현한다. 이 챗봇은 쇼핑몰을 이용하는 사용자들에게 대화형 인터페이스를 통한 편의성을 제공하고 접근성을 증가시킨다. 또한 직접 찾는 방식이 아닌 AI의 선택이 중심이 되어 검색 시간 감소로 인한 시간 절약 효과를 얻을 수 있다.

  • 본 프로젝트는 Azure OpenAI Service (large language models and generative AI) 를 이용하여 IT 기술 및 현황을 생성형 AI (GPT-4)를 활용한 IT 카드 뉴스 서비스로서 업계 현직자들에게 정보를 제공하는 시스템을 구현하였다. IT 카드 뉴스 서비스의 부재와 뉴스 제작의 비용 및 시간 소요의 문제를 해결하기 위해 생성형 AI 시스템을 고안하였다. 해당 서비스를 통해 IT 업계에 관심이 많은 사용자에게 정리된 뉴스를 한 번에 제공하는 효과를 가져올 것으로 예상한다.
