The purpose of this study was through a survey of awareness of cancer and cancer screening of Korean community residents to identify the stereotypes of cancer and bases for development of improved screening programs for early detection. Subjects were residing in South Korea Gangwon-Province and were over 30 years and under 69 years old. The total was 2,700 persons which underwent structured telephone survey questionnaires considered with specific rates of gender, region, and age. For statistical analysis, PASW Statistics 17.0 WIN was utilized. Frequency analysis, the Chi-square (${\chi}^2$) test for univariate analysis, and logistic regression analysis were performed. The awareness of cancer and cancer screening in subjects differed by gender, region and age. For the idea of cancer, women thought about death less than men (OR: 0.73, p<0.001). On the other hand, women had negative thoughts - fear/terror/suffering/pain/pain - more than their male counterparts (OR: 2.04, p<0.001). Next, for the idea of cancer screening, women recognized fear/terror more than men (OR: 1.38, p<0.01). The higher age, the more tension/anxiety/worry/burden/irritated/pressure (OR: 1.43, p<0.01, OR: 2.15, p<0.001, OR: 2.49, p<0.001)). People may be reminded of fear and death for cancer and of fear, terror, tension and anxiety for cancer screening. To change vague fear and negative attitudes of cancer could increase the rate of cancer screening as well as help to improve the quality of life for community cancer survivors and facilitate return to normal social life. Therefore, it is necessary to provide promotion and education to improve the awareness of cancer and cancer screening.
Since 1992, with the beginning of trade between Korea and China, their commercial relationship has become closer than before. As a result of better quality of life, the consumers of the two countries value well-being more the before. Thus, this paper examined the information search, awareness, purchasing motivation, and purchasing intention of well-being food of Korean and Chinese consumers, and identified the dominant factors influencing the purchasing intentions of well-being food. Firstly, the information searches of well-being food showed significant differences between the Korean and Chinese consumers. Secondly, the awareness of well-being food between the consumers of the two countries did not show significant differences. Thirdly, the results about the purchasing motivation of well-being food showed that the Chinese consumers had stronger purchasing motivation related to 'social responsibility' than that of Korean consumers, and the differences were significant. Fourthly, the results on the purchasing intentions of well-being food indicated that the Chinese consumers had greater intentions than Korean consumers. Fifthly, for the Korean consumers, the variables influencing the purchasing intentions of well-being food were the considerations of health care, purchasing motivation ('personal desire'), and the awareness of well-being food. For the Chinese consumers, the awareness of well-being food, gender (female), information search of well-being food, and education were formed the main variables.
The purpose of this study was to find out awareness of the environment-friendly planning elements for residential unit space among practitioners. The respondents in this questionnaire survey were 140 practitioners in architecture and interior design field. The major findings of this study were as follows; most of the respondents were aware of the impact of indoor built environment on residents' wellness. In addition, the survey respondents viewed that the factors for planning environment-friendly high-rise apartments were represented by gardening and energy-saving while their perception on the concept excluded comprehensive components affecting residents' life quality. Over 50% of respondents had an experience of applying environment-friendly planning elements in their works, and high frequency appeared on the general planning elements which had been applied special awareness as pro-environmental features. The respondents considered environment-friendly planning elements as important. Specially, space planning and system were considered more likely important in interior design field. In application of environment-friendly planning elements, cost, lack of consumers' awareness of and underdevelopment of environment-friendly materials were of concern. Therefore, the consumer's cognition needs to be improved for wide application about environment-friendly planning element, and then consumers are willing to pay additional construction cost of environment-friendly apartments. At the same time, the current practice that housing developers pass the additional cost on to residents needs to be changed. Then, the quality of life in high-rise residential settings can be improved. More importantly, the exchange and development of the reliable information on environment-friendly planning elements need to be made, and technical support and long-term policy for the development are required. This research showed current status of knowledge and practice in sustainable planning of unit apartment and proved basic information for future direction.
Purpose. Most of halitosis is found by people than by themselves in their life. There are some people who are suffering from oral malodor psychasthenia although they do not have halitosis which may disturb social life by sociophobia. Methods. The subjects of this survey were the dental hygienic college students in Busan city and Gyeongnam province from December 1 to December 20, 2013, we use the 281 parts except for the 19 parts of a bad faith response of 300 parts. Results. As a response to the awareness of the halitosis of college students, "the smell became sometime" was highest in 63.3%, and tooth brushing of halitosis, In according to about awareness of halitosis brushing the number of cases showed a 73.4% increase when you answered "no" in case one day the number of brushing at least three times less than a minute halitosis awareness conducted brushing (p<0.05),in case of less than 1 minute brushing time, this was a statistically significant increase halitosis awareness (p<0.05). Conclusions. This study assessment the association between halitosis awareness and oral care habits was to provide students with the basis for education and counseling halitosis in clinical.
Understanding awareness and wearing behavior of functional textiles for silver generation is expected to contribute to clothing products development to improve and maintain their health and marketing strategy fit for user characteristics. For empirical research, a survey was developed and the aged 50 and above were 332 respondents. The results of the study are as follows. First, the level of awareness for both comfort-oriented and health/safetyoriented functional fabrics in high health-conscious group was much higher than that in low health-conscious group. In number of wearing times, health body and high-conscious group wear comfort-oriented fabrics more frequently, while weak body group wear health/safety-oriented fabrics more often. The health-consciousness significantly influenced the possession of active sportswear with various functions. Second, the awareness of functional fabrics in exercise activities groups was much higher than that in exercise-conscious groups. High exercise activities group know more about the wet sensation-related fabrics and clothing materials for outdoor activities. Low exercise-conscious group put on health/comfort-oriented fabrics for casuals more frequent than functional fabrics for sportswear. High exercise activities group preferred to wear sportswear suitable for outdoor activities. The aged people have a lot of health/comfort-oriented functional casual wear appropriate for indoor activities regardless of exercise-consciousness. However, the more they enjoy exercise activities the more they are interested in functional sportswear. Even though they were unconcerned with exercise, older people are interested in functional casual clothes. As a conclusion, the high interest in health and exuberant activities in silver generation arose the necessity of new multi-functional clothing products.
The purpose of this study was to measure safety-awareness among elementary students, identify their safety-practices and actual status of accidents. The study was also done to acquire basic information on safety education to help students be more aware of safety, and more active in accident-prevention activities. A random sample was taken of 763 5th and 6th grade students in 4 different elementary schools in Seoul. Of the 735 questionnaires collected, 684 were complete and were used in the analysis. SPSS was used to analyze the questionnaires. The results are summarized as follows. First, the overall safety-awareness score was relatively high at 139.06 of a maximum of 164. and respondents were most conscious of the section on Home Safety. Second, the safety-practices of the respondents was at the middle level with a mean score of 56.01 of a maximum of 80. The factors affecting the safety-practice of the respondents were education of their parents, recognized learning proficiency, awareness of need for safety education, and level of safety-education conducted by parents. Third, $53.4\%$ of the respondents had experienced one or more accidents during the past year. Most of the accidents occurred during play and recreation and home accidents were the most frequently reported accidents. The risk factors related to the occurrence of accidents were gender, relationship with friends, recognized learning proficiency, and awareness of traffic safety. Forth, higher safety-awareness was found to be directly related to higher safety-practices. Respondents with lower safety-awareness reported higher rate of accidents. In view of the results so far achieved, habituation and formation of safety-oriented actions among students are highly required to prevent accidents. In order to do that, development of safety-awareness and in-life enforcement of safety-practice need to come first.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness and practice on well-being life and well-being related behaviors, and the various factors affecting well-being related behaviors such as purchasing food materials, food habits, eating out and daily routine activities. A survey was conducted by questionnaire and on a 5-point Likert scale. The subjects of this study were composed of 221 students and their 102 parents who were over 40 years residing in the Ulsan area. The results of this study are summarized as follows: Almost half of the subjects (47.4%) responded that they have good health conditions; to keep a good health condition, 41.2% of the subjects were exercising regularly and 20.4% of them kept diet control. In regard to the meaning of well-being, 66.6% of the subjects thought it is the lifestyle for physical and mental richness (children: 70.6%, parents: 57.8%). 30.3% of the subjects answered that the most important part of well-being was food related. The importance order was mental richness, food related things, physical health for children, and for the parents, it was food related things, physical health, mental richness. Most of population (45.8%) answered that they have a willingness for the pursuit of a well-being life. Among the well-being related behaviors, 69.7% of subjects have purchased items (children: 61.5%, parents: 87.3%). 37.2% of the subjects have acquired information from TV. The average well-being practice score was $61.01{\pm}10.36$. Children's scores were significantly lower than the parent's scores (p < 0.001). And the average practice score of 'purchasing food materials,' 'eating out,' 'food habits,' 'daily routine activities' were $15.3{\pm}3.3,\;15.5{\pm}3.1,\;16.8{\pm}3.3$ and $13.4{\pm}3.5$, respectively. Among five types of purchasing food materials, 'purchasing domestic agricultural food' was greatest ($3.64{\pm}0.91$) and 'purchasing of organic or low agricultural chemical food products' was lowest ($3.15{\pm}0.91$). In regard to food habits, 'eating rice and bread made of mixed grains' was greatest ($3.46{\pm}1.12$) and 'eating uncooked food or zen food' was lowest ($2.46{\pm}0.99$). The practice scores were significantly affected by gender (p < 0.05), monthly income (p < 0.01), educational level (p < 0.01), presence of disease (p < 0.05), subjective health condition (p < 0.05), well-being awareness (p < 0.001) and concern with well-being (p < 0.001). Well-being awareness scores and well-being practice scores are related positively. Therefore various programs in well-being education should be necessary in order to boost the authentic perceptions of well-being and well-being oriented behaviors in any socioeconomic situation, such as different generations; industrial companies producing well-being goods for consumer's needs and satisfaction; and government and local community create various conditions for well-being oriented behavior.

The purpose of this study is to verify mediated effect of health, economic power and family relationship characteristics on their subjective awareness of health. Data used for analysis was research on the actual condition conducted by Korea Welfare Panel Study(2013). Data used in this study was collected from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013. Answers of 3,976 people were used in the final analysis. Hierarchial regression analysis was conducted to verify variables. SPSS21.0 were used as statistics program. showed that retirees' subjective health condition, whether to own house, living expense and family relationship characteristics have an influence on their life satisfaction. Analysis revealed that retirees' has a partial mediated effect on path which influences life satisfaction. That retirees' health has a partial mediated effect proves that the better retirees' health, economic power and family relationship characteristics are, the higher retirees' subjective awareness of health is. In addition, that retirees' subjective awareness of health has a partial mediated effect proves that retirees' health, economic power and family relationship characteristics draw higher path through retirees' subjective awareness of health. This study is significant in that it proved that retirees' health, economic power and family relationship characteristics are related to retirees' subjective awareness of health and provide data which is useful in preparing ways to improve retirees' health.
The purpose of this study is to find out impact of level of awareness about old age, knowledge of the elderly and preparing for later life on college students in Korea. The study was composed of 133 students who were studying in 4-year system at colleges. Data were collected from October 1st to November 31st, 2019. Data analysis included an independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression using the SPSS 19.0 program. As a result of this study, factors influencing the subject's preparing for later life included knowledge of the elderly (β = 0.21, p = .012), men (β = 0.28, p = .001), and level of awareness about old age (β = 0.23, p =. 005), and the accounting power of these factors was 18% in total (F=9.14, p<.001). The results of this study suggest that understanding of the elderly must be improved in order to effectively prepare for later life and gender should be taken into account when planning for intervention.
