Mobile phones use the embedded memory in LDI (LCD Driver IC). In memory accessing mode, data overlapping phenomenon can occur. These days, various contents such as DMB, Camera, Game are merged to phone. Accordingly, with more data transmission, there would be more data overlapping phenomenon in memory accessing mode. Human eyes perceive this data overlapping phenomenon as simply horizontal line noise. The cause of the data overlapping phenomenon was analysed in this paper. The data overlapping phenomenon can be changed by the speed of data transmission between the host and LDI. The optimum memory accessing position can be defined. This paper proposes a new algorithm for avoiding data overlapping.

The scroll compressor used for heat pump has a wide range of operation condition. To cover both heating and cooling modes, the operating Pressure ratio ranges from 1.5 to 6.8. Since the scroll compressor, however, is a type of compressor whose pressure ratio is fixed, some loss in the compression work is caused by the operation at the pressure ratio different from the built-in pressure ratio. A way of avoiding this problem is to introduce by-Pass holes in compression chambers, so that the compressed gas of pressure higher than the discharge pressure, yet not reached to the discharge port can be released earlier through the by-Pass holes. In this paper, an optimum Positioning of the by-Pass hole and the effect of the by-pass valve on the compressor performance are studied.
This paper show that, without installation of expensive VR (Virtual Reality) program, the sharing information is possible through posting three-dimensional road structures on the web, and avoiding the conventional top-down decision making method, fast bottom-up communication is possible base on the Virtual GIS (Geographic Information System). In this paper, using Viewpoint Scene Builder, internet-based software, the transformation was conducted to give pertinent type for web posting. In order to use the completed route at the scene builder, the output with ASCII Export is required, and ASE (ASCII Scene Export) contains the property information including the coordinate and frame of mesh vertex. Through in advance recognition of the problems regarding route design and petition due to environmental rights infringement, the time and cost due to design alteration can be reduced. It's difficult to provide VR based on the internet because file that embodied with internet GIS was complicated and its capacity comes to scores of mega-bites. But, this study provides VR with internet according to a basis by simplification of files.

Background: Some patients show favorable changes in the descending aortic false lumen after conventional repair of acute type A dissection, although the incidence of favorable changes has been reported to be low. We aimed to investigate the incidence of positive postoperative changes in the false lumen and the factors associated with positive outcomes. Methods: In 63 patients who underwent surgery for type A acute dissection as well as serial computed tomography (CT) scanning, morphological parameters were compared between the preoperative, early postoperative (mean interval, 5.4 days), and late CT scans (mean interval, 31.0 months) at three levels of the descending thoracic aorta. Results: In the early postoperative CT images, complete false lumen thrombosis and/or true lumen expansion at the proximal descending aorta was observed in 46% of the patients. In the late images, complete thrombosis or resolution of the proximal descending false lumen occurred in 42.9% of the patients. Multivariate analysis found that juxta-anastomotic false lumen thrombosis was predictive of favorable early changes, which were in turn predictive of continuing later improvement. Conclusion: Even after conventional repair without inserting a frozen elephant trunk, the proximal descending aortic false lumen showed positive remodeling in a substantial number of patients. We believe that the long-term prognosis of type A dissection can be improved by refining surgical technique, and particularly by avoiding large intimal tears at the anastomosis site during the initial repair.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to highlight the role of lateral arthroplasty along with interposition of the buccal fat pad (BFP) in the management of Sawhney type III temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis. Materials and Methods: Ten patients with TMJ ankylosis (7 unilateral and 3 bilateral, total of 13 joints) were treated with lateral arthroplasty and BFP interposition. The bony bridge of the ankylotic mass on the lateral aspect was resected, leaving a distance of 1.5 to 2.0 cm from the base of the skull to the neck of the condyle. The condyle was left intact. Coronoidectomy was performed on the ipsilateral side via the same approach in all cases. The inter-incisal opening was measured at that time, and if it was less than 35 mm, contralateral coronoidectomy was performed by using the intra-oral approach. After satisfactory inter-incisal mouth opening (${\geq}35mm$) was achieved, the TMJ surgical site was revisited, and BFP was retrieved and used to cover the lateral aspect of the medially placed condyle. Results: With lateral arthroplasty, the medially displaced condyle can be left in-situ to maintain the mandibular ramal height and function and to act as a growth center in children. Interposition of the BFP prevents reformation of the lateral bony bridge that was removed. Conclusion: Lateral arthroplasty along with interpositioning of the BFP is a novel technique for managing Sawhney type III ankylosis that achieves management goals while avoiding complex and advanced reconstructive surgical procedures.
In this paper, we consider the scheduling of SE(switching element)-disjoint multicasting in photonic Banyan-type switching networks constructed with directional couplers. This ensures that at most, one connection holds each SE in a given time thus, neither crosstalk nor blocking will arise in the network. Such multicasting usually takes several routing rounds hence, it is desirable to keep the number of rounds(i.e., scheduling length) to a minimum. We first present the necessary and sufficient condition for connections to pass through a common SE(i.e., make crosstalk) in the photonic Banyan-type networks capable of supporting one-to-many connections. With definition of uniquely splitting a multicast connection into distinct subconnections, the crosstalk relationship of a set of connections is represented by a graph model. In order to analyze the worst case crosstalk we characterize the upper bound on the degree of the graph. The successor paper(Part II)[14] is devoted to the scheduling algorithm and the upper bound on the scheduling length. Comparison with related results is made in detail.

For accurate wind resource assessment and wind turbine performance test, it is essential to secure wind data covering a rotor plane of wind turbine including a hub height. In general, we can depict wind speed profile by extrapolating or interpolating the wind speed data measured from a meteorological tower where multiple anemometers are mounted at different heights using a power-law of wind speed profile. The most important parameter of a power-law equation is a vertical wind profile exponent which represents local characteristics of terrain and land cover. In this study, we calculated diurnal vertical wind profile exponents of 8 locations in Jeju Island who possesses excellent wind resource according to the GUM (Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement) to evaluate its uncertainty. Expanded uncertainty is calculated by combined standard uncertainty, which is the result of composing type A standard uncertainty with type B standard uncertainty. Although pooled standard deviation should be considered to derive type A uncertainty, we used the standard deviation of vertical wind profile exponent of each day avoiding the difficult of uncertainty evaluation of diurnal wind profile variation. It is anticipated that the evaluated uncertainties of diurnal vertical wind profile exponents at 8 locations in Jeju Island are to be registered as a national standard reference data and widely used in the relevant areas.
The adventitious root of Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer is regarded as an efficient alternative to cell culture or hairy root culture for biomass production due to its fast growth and stable metabolite production. To determine optimal culture conditions for the bioreactor culture of ginseng roots, experiments have been conducted on physical and chemical factors such as bioreactor type, dissolved oxygen, gas supply, aeration, medium type, macro- and micro-elements, medium supplement during culture period, sucrose concentration, osmotic agents, medium pH and light. Elicitation is a key step to increase ginsenoside accumulation in the adventitious roots but biomass growth is severely inhibited by elicitor treatment. To obtain high ginsenoside content with avoiding biomass decrease, we applied two-stage bioreactor culture system. Ginseng adventitious roots were cultured for 40 days to maximize biomass increase followed by elicitation for 7 days to enhance ginsenoside accumulation. We also experimented on types and concentrations of jasmonate to determine optimal elicitation methods. In this paper, we discussed several factors affecting the root propagation and ginsenoside accumulation. Based on the results obtained from previous experiments we have established large-scale bioreactor system (1 ton-10 ton) for the efficient production of ginseng adventitious roots and bioactive compounds including ginsenoside. Still, experiments are on going in our laboratory to determine other bioactive compounds having effects on diet, high blood pressure, DPPH elimination and increasing memories.
Thermolysin was immobilized on Dowex MWA-1 with 10% glutaraldehyde and incorpo rated into a fluidized-bed continuous coagulation scheme to make Cheddar type cheese. The activity yield of thermolysin was 25%. The immobillized thermolysin was stable at $60^{\circ}C$ in the presence of 1/200M calcium ions and the half-life value is 16 days at the temperature. Raw milk alkalified to pH 7.0 was passed through a column of thermolysin beads at $55^{\circ}C$, cultivated with Streptococcus cremoris and allowed to coagulate. A typical milk curd was formed to make Cheddar type cheese, avoiding troublesome microbial contamination successfully during continuous hydrolysis process. During ripening of this cheese for 6 months at $10^{\circ}C$, its ripening ratio and taste were similar to those of cheese prepared by the traditional method.
MuSI, a gene that corresponds to a domain that contains the rubber elongation factor (REF), is highly homologous to many stress-related proteins in plants. Since MuSI is up-regulated in the roots of plants treated with cadmium or copper, the involvement of MuSI in cadmium tolerance was investigated in this study. Escherichia coli cells overexpressing MuSI were more resistant to Cd than wild-type cells transfected with vector alone. MuSI transgenic plants were also more resistant to Cd. MuSI transgenic tobacco plants absorbed less Cd than wild-type plants. Cd translocation from roots to shoots was reduced in the transgenic plants, thereby avoiding Cd toxicity. The number of short trichomes in the leaves of wild-type tobacco plants was increased by Cd treatment, while this was unchanged in MuSI transgenic tobacco. These results suggest that MuSI transgenic tobacco plants have enhanced tolerance to Cd via reduced Cd uptake and/or increased Cd immobilization in the roots, resulting in less Cd translocation to the shoots.
