초등학교 예비교사의 과학 교수 목표 지향성과 교수 효능감 (The Preservice Elementary Teachers' Achievement Goal Orientations for Science Teaching and Their Science Teaching Efficacy Belief)

  • The preservice elementary teachers' achievement goal orientations(mastery/ability-approach/ability-avoidance/work-avoidance goal) for science teaching were measured. The student teachers(91 males and 127 females) tended to have the mastery or ability-approach goals rather than the ability-avoidance or work-avoidance goals for science teaching. The male students were more learning focused than were the females, while the female students reported stronger work-avoidance goal orientation than did the males. This study also examined how the preservice teachers' achievement goal orientations were related to their science teaching efficacy beliefs(personal science teaching efficacy belief/science teaching outcome expectancy). As expected, the results showed that there were significantly positive relationships between the mastery or ability-approach goals and science teaching efficacy beliefs, while the significantly negative relationships were found between the ability-avoidance or work-avoidance goal and personal science teaching efficacy belief. The educational implications and future directions were discussed.

Avoidance Strategy Usage of English Articles

  • This study examines whether English users at a U.S. university apply avoidance strategy in using English articles. All participants had learned English for at least 10 years and had used English for at least 15 years at the time of the data collection, so they made an ideal sample to examine the differences between native speakers of English and non-native speakers of English, in terms of avoidance strategy usage of English articles. To examine whether non-native speakers avoid using a certain feature when unsure of the correct usage, the mean differences of each article usage between NS and NNS groups were calculated and compared. On the basis of results showing that there are no statistically significant differences in terms of article usage between the groups, it is concluded that the highly advanced level participants did not use avoidance strategy in English articles, and that the type of English article and the task type did not affect learners' avoidance strategy usage. This research is expected to provide teachers and researchers with information about highly advanced level L2 language speakers' usage patterns with regards to avoidance strategy.

  • Obstacle detection and avoidance are considered as one of the key technologies on an unmanned vehicle system. In this paper, we propose a method of obstacle detection and avoidance and it is composed of vehicle control, modeling, and sensor experiments. Obstacle detection and avoidance consist of two parts: one is longitudinal control system for acceleration and deceleration and the other is lateral control system for steering control. Each system is used for unmanned vehicle control, which notes its location, recognizes obstacles surrounding it, and makes a decision how fast to proceed according to circumstances. During the operation, the control system of the vehicle can detect obstacles and perform obstacle avoidance on the road, which involves vehicle velocity. In this paper, we propose a method for vehicle control, modeling, and obstacle avoidance, which are evaluated through road tests.

  • Evaluation of the quantitative risk of collision plays a key role in developing the expert system of navigation and collision avoidance. This study analysed thoroughly how to determine the threshold of avoidance sector as described in the new evaluation of collision risk, and suggested the collision risk obtained by the alteration of course and/or speed in order to pass clear qf each danger zone as the threshold of avoidance sector.

  • Optimal collision avoidance algorithm for unmanned aerial vehicles based on proportional navigation guidance law is investigated this paper. Although proportional navigation guidance law is widely used in missile guidance problems, it can be used in collision avoidance problem by guiding the relative velocity vector to collision avoidance vector. The optimal navigation coefficient can be obtained if an obstacle if an obstacle moves at constant velocity vector. The stability of the proposed algorithm is also investigated. The stability can be obtained by choosing a proper navigation coefficient.

  • This paper proposes a collision warning/avoidance algorithm using a trajectory prediction method. This algorithm is based on 2-dimensional kinematics and the Kalman filter has been used to obtain the information of the object vehicle. This algorithm has been investigated via computer simulation and showed a good trajectory prediction performance. The proposed collision warning/avoidance algorithm would enhanced driver acceptance for a collision warning/avoidance system.

  • In this paper, Fundamental rules governing group intelligence "obstacle avoidance" behavior of multiple autonomous mobile robots are represented by a small number of fuzzy rules. Complex lifelike behavior is considered as local interactions between simple individuals under small number of fundamental rules. The fuzzy rules for obstacle avoidance are generated from clustering the input-output data obtained from the obstacle avoidance algorithm. Simulation shows the fuzzy rules successfully realizes fundamental rules of the obstacle avoidance behavior.

육류 기피에 미치는 동물에 대한 도덕관념, 질감, 색깔과 포만감의 영향 평가 (Assessing the Effect of Moral Concerns for Animals, Texture, Color and Satiety on Meat Avoidance)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of moral concerns for animals, meat texture, color in meat and satiety from meat on meat avoidance, and to assess the effect of meat avoidance on meat consumption. A total of 250 questionnaires were completed. Structural equation model was used to measure the causal effects of constructs. Results of the study demonstrated that fit of the restricted model is significantly worse than that of the unrestricted model, in which more parameters are estimated. The effects of moral concerns for animals, meat texture, and satiety from meat on meat avoidance were statistically significant. The effect of meat avoidance on meat consumption was statistically significant. Moreover, meat avoidance played a mediating role in the relationship between moral concerns for animals and meat consumption. Meat avoidance also played a mediating role in the relationship between satiety from meat and meat consumption. This study suggested that the consumer decision-making process for meat products is best modeled as a complex system that incorporates both direct and indirect effects on meat consumption. This study believed the evidence presented supports this position. Moreover, this study appeared to be a worthy area of pursuit.

교항하는 두 선박간의 충돌회피에 관한 해석적 접근 (An Analytical Approach to Collision Avoidance between Two Encountering Ships)

  • 본 연구에서는 교항하는 두 선박 간의 충돌 회피에 적용 가능한 해석적 기법에 바탕을 둔 피항 조선 알고리듬을 소개한다. 충돌 회피를 위하여 두 선박 간의 최소이격거리를 설정하고 교항하는 두 선박의 적절한 피항 조선을 통해 안전하고 효과적인 피항이 가능하도록 하였다. 이의 구현을 위하여 1) 선박의 운항속도를 조절하는 속도 변화에 의한 충돌회피 기법과 2) 선박의 선수각을 변경하여 침로를 변경하는 충돌회피 기법을 고려하였고, 두 선박의 기하학적 배치를 감안하여 충돌 회피를 위해 조선 동작을 개시하는 피항 개시거리를 해석적으로 전개하였다. 제안한 기법의 타당성 검증을 위하여 다양한 교항 시나리오를 설정하고 이에 대한 수치 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

불확실성 회피성향이 수용 후 행동에 미치는 영향: 모바일 인터넷 서비스를 중심으로 (An Empirical Study of the Effect of Uncertainty Avoidance on Post-Adoption Behavior: Focusing on Mobile Internet Services)

  • Although the study of post-adoption has increased in recent years, few studies have focused on the moderating effect of uncertainty avoidance on the relationship between post-expectation and behavior. The purpose of this study is to examine the moderating effect of uncertainty avoidance in the mobile Internet domains. This study proposed a post-adoption model based on prior continuance model. This theoretical model was verified empirically by conducting web surveys and multi-group analysis. Based on the survey data, we classified users into those with high uncertainty avoidance and those with low uncertainty avoidance. The results indicate that post expectations have significant impacts on satisfaction and continuance intention. The results also show that the impacts of intrinsic motivational factors of mobile Internet services on satisfaction and continuance intention are stronger for users with high uncertainty avoidance. On the other hand, the impacts of extrinsic motivational factors on satisfaction and continuance intention are stronger for users with low uncertainty avoidance, with a few exceptions. This paper ends with theoretical and managerial implications of the study results, as well as limitations and future research directions.
