시작 차량 감성 품질 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on enhancement of emotional quality of prototype-car)

  • To reduce the leadtime for a new model according to the strict market requirements, automobile manufacturer begins to utilize 3-dimensional CAD based techniques such as DMU(Digital Mock-Up). RP(Rapid Prototyping), VE(Virtual Engineering). But, not so many satisfactory utilities have been introduced to deal with the emotional properties such as embossment on the surface of interior parts and touch from material characteristics in virtual environment. It is required to manufacture prototype parts to verify actual feeling of the passengers in real automobile. This paper suggests a methodology to enhance emotional property via embedding embossment on the surface of prototype car interior trim without deterioration of dimensional accuracy using RIM(Reaction Injection Molding) and vacuum forming method.

차체 판넬의 가공 제작을 위한 금형형상의 효율적 모델링 (Efficient modeling of die-face shapes for stamping automobile outer panels)

  • A procedure has been developed so that a die-face for stamping automobile outer panels can be design and modelled efficiently. The procedure is composed of four parts each of which corresponds to modeling major components of a die-face, i.e. tipped product, blankholder, draw beads, and step draw. The modeling techniques developed specifically for die-face design enable a designer to generate the shape of a die-face quickly with the minimum input, and the resulting models can be used in FEM analysis and NC tool path generation. This will lead to the reductions in lead time and manhours required for the design and manufacture of the stamping dies.

  • Hydroforming Technology has been applied to manufacture in various parts of automobile. Especially, Exhaust manifold has been applied to hydroforming method in the foreign advanced automotive company. Exhaust manifold runner is important exhaust parts that heat-resistant and exhaust flow characteristics are requested in the automobile. The purpose of this study is to optimize the manufacturing method of exhaust maniflold runner using FEA and to propose to get a optimization design direction. In addition, Comparative analysis between conventional exhaust maniflold and hydroformed exhaust maniflold has been done in view of weight-saving, manufacturing advantage.

  • In the manufacture of automobile suspension modules at a company as parts supplier, the design process includes the detail design and the design modification via structural and fatigue durability analyses considering PoF(physics of failure) of their weldments that are repeated more than four times sequentially. The approval of the design and the release of final drawings follows. For the suspension modules, e.g. control arms and cross member, the man-hours per worker required in the process outlined above can reach as high as 1,414hours. Application of the developed integrated design system can reduce the man-hours of 1,004. In comparison with the conventional design process, this integrated design system reduces the required time by about 40%. If expense is taken into account, a savings of approximately $192,000 is estimated, assuming the design process accounts for 1.5% of total sales for the parts supplier

  • Machine tools of high-speed and high-precision are required for various fields of industry such as semiconductor, automobile, mold fabrication and so on. Light-weight machine tool structure is essential for reduction of production time through rapid transportation. Also, high damping capacity of the structure is required to obtain precise products without vibration during manufacturing. Composite materials have high potential for machine tool structures due to its high specific stiffness and good damping characteristics. In this study, the design and the manufacture of a hybrid machine tool structure using composite materials was attempted and the damping capacity was investigated experimentally.

Centreless precision grinding of camshafts as an automated operation

  • The development of a microprocessor-controlled centreless grinding station has opened the way for the production of automobile camshafts-from raw casting to precision-finished part-as a fully automated operation. This results in manufacture to finer tolerances, with part-to-part consistency and a floor-to-floor time of half that needed for alternative production methods. Shafts with a grinding length of up to 700 mm can be processed.

  • This study is focused on the thickness change in burring with stainless 409L according to the change of main design variables and forming conditions, to manufacture the automobile exhaust flange. Large plastic deformations by burring process decreases thickness of inner radius and occurs cracks. The optimal design of performs by the finite element analysis achieves adequate improvement of thickness decrease.

  • Deep and narrow welds can be produced by laser welding at high welding speeds with a narrow heat-affected zone (HAZ) and little distortion of the workpiece. This study aims to evaluate the usefulness of laser welding at automobile component manufacture. Microstructure observation, hardness test, tensile test and fatigue life test are performed by using the fiber laser welded SPFC590 steel sheets which is used widely in the manufacture of automotive seat frame. Three kinds of specimens are only a SPFC590 steel plate, quasi-butt joint plate and lap joint plate by laser welding. The following results that will be helpful to understand the static strength, fatigue crack initiation and growth mechanism were obtained. (1) The tensile strength of quasi butt joint specimens nearly equal to base metal specimens, but lap joint specimens fractured in shear area of weld metal. (2) The fatigue strength of quasi-butt joint specimen was approximately 8 percent lower than that of the base metal specimens. Furthermore, the lap joint specimens were less than 86 percent of the base metal specimens. (3) The lap joint fatigue specimens fractured at shear area in high level stress amplitude, while fractured at normal area in low level stress amplitude. From these results, the applicability of the laser welding to the automobile component is discussed.

AC4C와 AC7A 주조재의 열변형 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical Study on Thermal Deformation of AC4C and AC7A Casting Material)

  • This study was numerically investigated on thermal deformation of AC4C and AC7A aluminum alloy casting material for manufacturing the automobile tire mold. The metal casting device was used in order to manufacture the mold product of automobile tire at the actual industrial field. The temperature distribution and the cooling time of these materials were numerically calculated by finite element analysis. Thermal deformation with stress distribution was also calculated form the temperature distribution results. The thermal deformation was closely related to the temperature difference between the surface and inside of the casting. As shown by numerical analysis result, the thermal deformation of AC7A casting material became higher than AC4C casting material. In addition, the results of displacement and stress distributions appeared to be larger at the center parts of casting than on its sides because of the shrinkage caused by the cooling speed difference.

  • 본 연구는 나노튜브 제조시스템의 주요 구성요소인 압축-절단 장치가 안전한 성능을 발휘할 수 있도록 설계하는데 목적이 있다. 나노튜브의 제조에 있어서 가장 중요한 핵심기술은 튜브에 나노물질을 주입한 후 압력을 가하여 안전하게 봉합하고 전단분리 하는 것이다. 이 때 작용하는 압력과 속도가 나노튜브의 품질을 결정한다. 본 연구에서는 DC서보모터에 의하여 구동되는 압축-절단 장치의 구동력을 설계하고 이를 바탕으로 시스템을 제작한 후 시제품을 생산하는 과정을 보이고자 한다.
