In the era of the fourth industrial revolution, many production plants are gradually evolving into smart factories that apply information and communication technology to manufacturing, distribution, production, and quality management. The conversion from conventional factories to smart factories has resulted in the automation of production sites using the internet and the internet of things (IoT) technology. Thus, labor-intensive production can easily collect necessary information. However, implementing a smart factory required a significant amount of time, effort, and money. In particular, labor-intensive production industries are not automated, and productivity is determined by human skill. A representative industry of such industries is sewing the industry. In the sewing industry, wherein productivity is determined by the operator's skills. This study suggests that production performance, inventory management and product delivery of the sewing industries can be managed efficiently with existing production method by using smart buttons incorporating IoT functions, without using automated machinery.
An Automated Storage/Retrieval Systems(AS/RS) has been gradually emphasized because of the change of production and distribution environment. This paper develops algorithm and Shortest Distance Model that can reduce the traveling time of a stacker crane for efficient operation of AS/RS. In order to reduce the traveling time of a stacker crane, we determine the order processing and then the sequencing of storage/retrieval for each item. Order processing is determined based on the SPT(Shortest Processing Time) concept considering a criterion of retrieval coordinate. The sequencing of storage/retrieval is determined based on the Shortest Distance Model by using a modified SPP(Shortest Path Problem) of network problem. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the developed algorithm and Shortest Distance Model.

Objective: To compare the utility and diagnostic performance of automated breast ultrasound system (ABUS) with that of handheld ultrasound (HHUS) in evaluating pure non-mass enhancement (NME) lesions on breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Materials and Methods: One hundred twenty-six consecutive MRI-visible pure NME lesions of 122 patients with breast cancer were assessed from April 2016 to March 2017. Two radiologists reviewed the preoperative breast MRI, ABUS, and HHUS images along with mammography (MG) findings. The NME correlation rate and diagnostic performance of ABUS were compared with that of HHUS, and the imaging features associated with ABUS visibility were analyzed. Results: Among 126 pure NME lesions, 100 (79.4%) were malignant and 26 (20.6%) were benign. The overall correlation rate was 87.3% (110/126) in ABUS and 92.9% (117/126) in HHUS. The sensitivity and specificity were 87% and 50% for ABUS and 92% and 42.3% for HHUS, respectively, with no significant differences (p = 0.180 and 0.727, respectively). Malignant NME was more frequently visualized than benign NME lesions on ABUS (93% vs. 65.4%, p = 0.001). Significant factors associated with the visibility of ABUS were the size of NME lesions on MRI (p < 0.001), their distribution pattern (p < 0.001), and microcalcifications on MG (p = 0.027). Conclusion: ABUS evaluation of pure NME lesions on MRI in patients with breast cancer is a useful technique with high visibility, especially in malignant lesions. The diagnostic performance of ABUS was comparable with that of conventional HHUS in evaluating NME lesions.
This paper discusses the evaluation of interconnection capacity of small cogeneration(SCOGN) systems to the power distribution systems from the viewpoint of voltage regulation. Power utilities are required to keep the customers' voltage profile over a feeder close to the rated value under all load conditions. However, it is expected that the interconnection of SCOGNs to the power distribution systems impacts on the existing voltage regulation method and customers' voltage variations. Therefore, SCOGNs should be integrated to the automated power distribution systems to prevent interconnection problems and supply high quality electricity to the customers. For these reasons, we should proceed with the evaluation of interconnection capacity of SCOGNs to the power distribution systems. However, it is generally impossible to perform actual testing on the power distribution systems, and standardized methodologies and guidelines are not developed to evaluate it. The criterion indexes for voltage regulation and variations are presented in order to evaluate the interconnection capacity of SCOGNs to the power distribution systems. In addition, the evaluation methodology of interconnection capacity of SCOGNs for power distribution systems is presented. It is expected that the resulted of this paper are useful for power system planners to determine the interconnection capacity of SCOGNs and dispersed storage and generation (DSG) systems to the power distribution systems.
This study is concerned with the estimation of wind speeds for return period in cellularized district of Busan by the recent meteorological data. Recently standard of the wind load in Busan area is determined by using meteorological wind speed data which is observed on Automated Synoptic Observing System(ASOS) only. Applying the existing basic wind speed that is 40m/s to the construction design of Busan area is inefficient. Because the wind speeds of Busan area show different amounts depend on the location of cellularized district. This research analyze the observed data of wind speeds of cellularized district in Busan based on Automate Weather System(AWA). In addition that we compute regional wind speeds for return period by using Gumbel distribution and study and compare with the existing basic wind speeds after evaluating appropriateness by Hazen's plot method.
In terms of distribution planning, accurate electric load prediction is one of the most important factors. The future load prediction has manually been performed by calculating the maximum electric load considering loads transfer/switching and multiplying it with the load increase rate. In here, the risk of human error is inherent and thus an automated maximum electric load forecasting system is required. Although there are many existing methods and techniques to predict future electric loads, such as regression analysis, many of them have limitations in reflecting the nonlinear characteristics of the electric load and the complexity due to Photovoltaics (PVs), Electric Vehicles (EVs), and etc. This study, therefore, proposes a method of predicting future electric loads on distribution lines by using Machine Learning (ML) method that can reflect the characteristics of these nonlinearities. In addition, predictive models were developed based on actual data collected at KEPCO's existing distribution lines and the adequacy of developed models was verified as well. Also, as the distribution planning has a direct bearing on the investment, and amount of investment has a direct bearing on the maximum electric load, various baseline such as maximum, lowest, median value that can assesses the adequacy and accuracy of proposed ML based electric load prediction methods were suggested.

This paper propose a procedure to estimate the system lifetime distribution using simulation method in a parametric framework and also develop the criterion for terminating the simulation. We assume that a system is composed of many components whose lifetime and repair time distributions are general, and repair of each component is imperfect or not. General simulation algorithms can not be adopted for this case, due to the dependency of successive operating times and the discontinuity in base line intensity function of failure process. Then we propose algorithms for generating failure times subject to imperfect repair. We develop the event time tracking logic for identifying the system failure time, and also develop the criterion for terminating the simulation. Our procedure is composed of two phases. The first phase of the procedure is to generate the system failure times from the inputs. The second phase is to estimate the lifetime distribution of the system. The best model is selected by a fully automated procedure among well-known parametric families, and the required parameters are estimated. We give examples to show the accuracy of our procedure and the effect of repair effect of components to system MTTF(Mean Time To Failure).
