The paper presents a framework for developing real-time multi-user board games and applications in augmented reality. Recently, increase the environment to playing game in augmented reality with advancement of computing ability improvement and wireless networking technique of mobile device. While the trend of utilizing this kind of games is creasing, the facts that there is a shortage of games whose contents are attractive to users. In this paper we propose a framework that enables game content developers to develop new game contents base on augmented reality easily and quickly. This framework is an automatic service that can augment in various methods by using the supported marker recognition service. Therefore game contents developers do not need to know about either augmented reality technique or the inner process structure. The framework also supports special functions and various interaction interfaces for augmented reality board game and components of the board game we can implement. These enable developers to accomplish all the necessary components and structures of the board game more easily.
The background fort this study is related to the concept of modern time and space which has been extended from physical space to virtual space in the present times witnessing the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Based on visual tactility and illusion in virtual reality, we intended to present the possibility of the interactions as realistic as the interactions occurring in reality. Regarding the scope of this study, we analyzed the relationship between illusion in game space and immersion in interactions based on the games used frequently among current virtual reality contents. The results of the study showed that the interactions in virtual reality occurred within the space converging the time and space and that the illusion of digital images had realistic position of reality without original. Research which investigates the interaction in virtual space and media projection method for real space and virtual space will provide useful basis for promoting technological development based on novel methods differentiated from existing image grammar and for identifying the content utilization methods.
As the number of augmented reality games using augmented reality technology increases, the demands of users are also increasing. Game technologies used in augmented reality games are mainly games using MARKER, MARKERLESS, GPS, etc. Games using this technology can augment the background and other objects. To solve this problem, we want to help develop augmented reality games by analyzing objects in the background, which is an important element of augmented reality. To analyze the background in the augmented reality game, the background object was analyzed by applying a deep learning model using TensorFlow Lite in the UNITY engine. Using this result, we obtained the result that augmented objects can be placed in the game according to the types of objects analyzed in the background. By utilizing this research, it will be possible to develop advanced augmented reality games by augmenting objects that fit the background.
In virtual reality, there are increasing qualitative development in service technologies for realtime interaction system development, 3- dimensional contents, 3D TV and augment reality services. These services experience difficulties to generate depth value that is essential to recover 3D space to form solidity on existing contents. Hence, research for the generation of effective depth-map using 2D is necessary. This thesis will describe a shortcoming of an existing depth-map generation for the recovery of 3D space using 2D image and will propose an enhanced depth-map generation algorithm that complements a shortcoming of existing algorithms and utilizes the definition of depth direction based on the vanishing point within image.

The purpose of this study is to design an authoring tool and a corresponding device for an olfactory display that can augment the immersion and reality in broadcasting services. The developed authoring tool allows an olfactory display to be properly synchronized with the existing video service by applying the standardized format using ISO/IEC 23005 (MPEG-V) and the corresponding developed scent display device. To propose the proper data format for the olfactory display, we have analyzed both the multimodal combination and the cross-modality related to the olfactory display. From the results of the analysis, we derived a set of olfactory parameters for the olfactory display that are related to emotion. The analyzed parameters related to emotion in an olfactory display are synchronization, scent intensity, scent persistence, and hedonic tone. These parameters should be controlled so that the olfactory display can be in harmony with the existing media to augment emotion. In addition, we developed a scent display device that can generate many kinds of scents and that satisfies design conditions for olfactory parameters that are for use with broadcasting services.
Objective: Dual-task walking deficits impact functional daily life, which often requires walking while performing simultaneous tasks such as talking, thinking or carrying an object. This study is to find out the latest trend of dual-task training's influence on ambulatory abilities of a stroke patient. Design: Systematic review of randomized controlled trials. Methods: This literature review was conducted in Pubmed and Sciencedirect with the follwing key words:stroke, cerebro-vascular accident, hemiplegia, gait, rehabilitation, exercise. 7 studies were chosen in findings by search tool. 3 studies were case study, 3 studies were cross sectional observational study and 1 study was randomized controlled trial. Results: It was found that stroke patients have difficulties in doing 2 motor tasks simultaneously and when they do 2 tasks, one is done in a naturally preferred activity areas. Moreover, when simply applying dual-tasks, the walking speed decreased. Meanwhile, when applying them through training, the speed increased. This showed the improvement of effective task-implementation abilities after dual-task training using task-integration models. Conclusions: In the beginning of the 2000s, dual-tasks were implemented by simply combining walking and cognition or exercise task, and the results of this study suggest that subjects with stroke have difficulty performing dual task. However, the latest trend is to let patients do the dual-task training by combining it with virtual reality. Therefore, dual task training could be performed in a safe in the environment such as virtual reality or augment reality.

The AR(Augmented Reality) is the technique that make the fusion between real world and virtual object. The augmented object on real world can provide the visualization of digital information to user. Also, the real-time AR system makes the interaction between user and computers. Therefore, the immersion of user be increasing and help the information transfer to user with AR system. In this paper, we implement the AR system with the modeled VRML as a three-dimensional object using programming language. The application technique is proposed that augment the various virtual clothes to three-dimensional avatar. Moreover, we propose the novel interface by using marker that can be increase the immersion of user.
It is generally required to use modeling or animation tools for inserting dynamic objects into augmented reality, and this process demands high expertise and complexity. This paper proposes a video object based authoring method that enables augmentation with dynamic video objects without such process. Integrated grab-cut and grow-cut method strips initial area of video target off the existing video clips, and snap-cut method is then applied to track objects' boundaries over frames so as to augment real world with continuous motion frames. Experiment shows video cut-out and authoring results achieved by only a few menu selections and simple correcting sketch.

Studies to augment emotion and immersion in multimedia content through olfactory stimulation are being increasingly conducted in the past two decades, and a variety of scent devices have been developed. Most of the scent devices are very large and heavy; consequently, they are installed on a table rather than being attached to the Head-mounted Display (HMD). Even if such devices are mounted on the HMD, it is not possible to control the scent density because of the size limitation, and it is not easy to be immersed in the experience because of the noise caused by the scent device. In order for an actual virtual reality or an augmented reality system to work efficiently with the scent device, three conditions - noiseless, a compact design, and concentration control- must be satisfied. In this study, we design a scent device that satisfies these three conditions. By using a miniature piezoelectric pump, a small size scent device is designed so that it can be easily attached to the lower end of the HMD, and hardly any noise is generated. Moreover, it is possible to control the concentration of the scent by controlling the piezoelectric pump using amplitude and frequency.
To augment emotion and immersion in virtual reality (VR), technological research based on scent displays have increased in recent years. The results of extensive studies have enabled the development of methods to interface head mounted displays (HMDs) with scent devices, and the possibility of VR applications of this development was identified via several demonstrations in actual VR environments. Despite all these efforts, more practical methods and conditions for scent display in VR environments are yet to be developed. To efficiently interface VR and scent, this study proposes three ways to set the position for scent display and scent conditions. The first is scent display using local positioning in the VR engine, the second is scent display using the relative distance and orientation between user and object in VR environments, and the third is scent display using time setting. In this study, we developed scent devices using a piezo actuator to validate the proposed method and successfully conducted demonstrations and experiments.
