A Study on Business Process Based Asset Evaluation Model and Methodology for Efficient Security Management over Telecommunication Networks (정보통신망의 효율적 보안관리를 위한 비즈니스 프로세스 기반의 자산평가모델 및 방법론에 관한 연구)

  • It is essential suity management and standardized asset analysis for telecommunication networks, however existing risk analysis methods and tools are not enough to give shape of the method to evaluate value and asset. they only support asset classification schemes. Moreover, since the existing asset classification schemes are to evaluate comprehensive general risk, they are not appropriate for being applied telecommunication networks and they can´t offer any solutions to an evaluator´s subjectivity problem. In this paper, to solve these problems, we introduce the standardized definition of asset evaluation model new asset classification scheme, two-dimensional asset process classification scheme to consider business process and asset, various evaluation standards for quantitative value and qualitative evaluation. To settle an valuator´s subjectivity problem, we proposed $\beta$-distribution Delphi method.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze and compare the existing digital media asset management systems and develop a prospective implementation model. As a result of conducting this research, it is recommended that the prospective system consist of archiving server, processing server, and interface program. This result suggests important starting point for development a resonable and reliable implementation model for digital media asset management system.

  • Traditionally intangible assets have been neglected in measuring management performance in the area of business. However as knowledge based times is coming, the importance of intangible assets have been evermore attentive then before. The purpose of the study is to explore the relationship between management performance and intangible assets of resort condominium in Korea. This paper categorizes intangible assets into customer relations asset, cooperative business partner asset, and service operations competence based asset and find relationship between these assets with management performance.

  • Assets are an essential part of a railway financial position and income state. The Railway industry, SOC, has characteristics of possessing vast tangible assets and incurring vast asset-related-costs. For higher liquidity and profitability, the railway industry need more active asset management. Since 2011, IFRS has its changed accounting method for tangible assets, this has subsequently affected asset management. As the railway industry has a high portion of tangible assets, the accounting method for tangible assets is very important. This paper analyzes the newly adopted accounting method for tangible assets and proposes LCC for effective asset management.

  • Social infrastructure facilities such as production, transportation, gas and electricity facilities may experience poor performance depending on time, load, temperature, etc. and may require maintenance, repair and management as they are used. In particular, in the case of transformers, the process of managing them for the purpose of preventing them from failing is necessary because a failure can cause enormous social damage. The management of transformers should consider both technical and economic aspects and strategic aspects at the same time. Thus, it applies the Asset Management concept, which is widely used in the financial industry as an advanced method of transformer management techniques worldwide. In this paper, the operation and power outage data were secured for the asset management of the transformer for distribution, and the asset status was analyzed. Analysis of asset status using actual operation and power outage data is essential for assessing the statistical life and failure rate of the facility. Through this paper, the status of transformer assets for arbitrary A group distribution was analyzed, and the end of life and replacement life were calculated.

  • Domestic maintenance strategies are shifting from safety assessment to performance assessment, and related systems and laws are being restructured to meet those criteria. In order to introduce asset management based on performance evaluation, related evaluation methods such as performance measures and level of service should be made to evaluate performance according to the characteristics of the structure, but these are not well-prepared in Korea. In this study, we present a computerized model and system for implementing asset management that introduces techniques such as performance evaluation, life cycle cost analysis, performance measures, and level of service in conjunction with existing maintenance and safety diagnosis procedures. The features of this system consist of three modules to enable separate operations of existing maintenance, safety management and asset management. The system is designed to be used as a reference for public institutions to introduce asset management in the future.

  • For efficient maintenance management of bridges, an establishment of asset management system is necessary which helps prediction of maintenance cost and strategic allocation of budget in consideration of top priority. The main purpose of this study is to suggest asset valuation method, which is practical in conformity with domestic situations, through researches on asset valuation method of bridges. This study has researched asset valuation method of bridge, which is appropriate for domestic situations by finding out advantages and disadvantages through investigating domestic and foreign application examples of asset valuation method for bridge facilities. In this study, asset valuation method by historical cost and replacement cost were suggested and a valuation model for bridges was established. In addition, two suggested valuation methods were applied to actual bridges which is used in Korea. As the result, it was analyzed that bridge asset valuation method in consideration of historical cost is desirable for the accounting purpose. And, it was analyzed that valuation method utilizing depreciated replacement cost(DRC), which could consider various factors, is desirable for the maintenance decision supporting purpose.

  • The asset management system for power distribution is necessary to make efficient use of distribution asset and to devise optimum investment plans. So we developed KDAMS(Korea Distribution Asset Management System) that is adopting reliability indexs, SAIFI and SAIDI, and operator's experiences. This paper presents functions of the system that is reliability management, failure rate management, establishment of optimum investment plan and so on. And it presents the of used algorithms to develop this system.

  • Recently, enterprises are protecting information assets with the various means of control and management. Nevertheless, they are confronted with the dilemma which the higher securitylevel they request, the lesser efficiency and productivity in short terms they acquire by the inconvenience of business process. In addition, in spite of the steady increase of organization's investment on information protection, the systematic way for the performance measurement of information protection has not been suggested, so that in reality, it is difficult to make the decision to invest on information-protection and elicit the direction to improve it. For this reason, this study intended to establish the concept of the protection and security of information assets of enterprises and to categorize the type of activities to protect information assets into management activity and control activity, and analyze the effects of management activity and control activity for information asset protection on the performance of information asset protection activity and organization. For this research, questionnaire survey was conducted with literature study and the PLS(Partial Least Square) was used to analyze the measurement model and hypotheses testing. The PLS analysis results indicate that management activity for information asset protection affects information asset protection performance. Further, organizational performance is influenced by information asset protection performance. Practical implications of these findings and future research implications are also discussed.

  • We are developing asset management information systems to introduce the preventive/proactive approach at operation and management (O&M) of infrastructures. The objective of this study is to explore the future direction for development and operation of asset management information systems. So, we developed the success model and selected the evaluation criteria for analyzing user satisfaction to assess the expected performance of asset management information systems and the degree of impact on asset management functions to operation and management of highway transportation facilities. We estimated the relative importance weight according to the selected evaluation criteria through AHP analysis. We verified the logical consistency of the importance weight and exclude biased outlier from importance weight group using the concept of the Compatibility.
