The purpose of this research is to analyse the cause and effect relations among management strategies, performance assessment and management performance in the hotel industry. The research result is as follows. A management strategy of the hotel industry has influence directly on a performance assessment through the non-financial factor, the financial factor and the study evaluation factor. And a financial performance assessment and a non-financial performance assessment have influence directly on the management performance. Total effects on a management performance of the hotel industry were 0.769 in a management strategies and 1.755 in a performance assessment. In comparison in the direct effects, the management strategies do not influence the management performance directly, and management performance is revealed through a performance assessment.

According to the current research of educational assessment, formative assessment which focuses on improving students' learning has been emphasized. Consequently, integration between instruction and assessment is crucial and various assessment strategies are required. In order to use different assessment strategies in classrooms, teachers should experience strategies and reflect their strengths and weaknesses. In this study, pre-service elementary teachers experienced six assessment strategies (feedback, providing assessment standard, providing exemplary cases, self assessment, peer assessment, and written assessment), and their perceptions toward each strategy were investigated. During one semester, pre-service teachers experienced each of them and they answered questionnaire at the end of the semester. From the results, it is found that pre-service teachers presented different strategies that were most helpful in their cognitive and affective domain according to their perception of assessment. The results imply that different assessment strategies should be applied in instruction and teachers should extend their perception of assessment purposes.

The purpose of this study was to search the concept and meaning of performance assessment(PA) in the classroom, and the to proposed some strategies to apply PA. The result of this study was presented below. First, differentiation strategy is necessary in the evaluation goal. Individualization will be an example of differentiation strategy in the evaluation of group goal. Second, various strategies are needed based on the subjects of evaluation. Self-evaluation, peer-evaluation, and small group-evaluation are some examples evaluation for the subjects. Third, there is a need for phase-strategy assessment. For the class associated performance assessment, we have to consider the evaluation activities based on the time likes before (pre), on, and after class. How to select the evaluation task is also one of the key sucess factors for improving the class associated performance assessment.

Genetically modified (CM) crops with agricultural traits including herbicide resistance and insect tolerance have been commercialized. The safety testing strategies conducted for food and feed ingredients from GM crops differ from those applied to food ingredients in that they are conducted to demonstrate similarity between the CM food and the appropriate non-CM comparator rather than for quantitative risk assessment. However, there are similarities in the design and conduct of the safety assessment studies between these types of studies that should be readily recognized by toxicologists. The current presentation reviews some of the basic principles of safety assessment of typical dietary ingredients and compares and contrasts them with the testing strategies applied to CM foods and products obtained from them.

The purpose of this study is to develope instructional strategies and assessment model for distance learning in interior design education in Korea. Literature from various sources were examined to provide guidelines for instructional and technical strategies, communication system, and administrative process. Strategies and assessment model for transition to distance learning from goal setting to program evaluation were introduced. The results of this study indicated that distance learning in interior design education is optimized when applied in studio critique, portfolio production, and professional practice and with other traditional programs depending on the characteristics of the instructional materials. It is suggested for further studies that various distance learning programs based on instructional theories to be conducted and evaluated in different areas of interior design education for their maximum application as instructional tool.

There has been a continual need for change of teachers' assessment practices as shifting a paradigm in education. Teachers' appropriate perception of assessment influences quality of assessment and leads to change of teachers' assessment practices. This study aimed at investigate prospective elementary teachers' perceptions on assessment in mathematics. To this end, we conducted a survey with the questionnaire which was developed based on previous studies on assessment. The questionnaire was composed of 41 questions about purposes and roles of assessment, materials of assessment, reliability of assessment, methods and strategies of assessment. 95 prospective elementary teachers participated in the survey. As a result, we found that prospective elementary teachers had appropriate perception on roles of assessment, materials of assessment and strategies of assessment, whereas they showed somewhat narrow perception on reliability of assessment, purposes and methods of assessment. Based on the results, we presented possible explanations about prospective elementary teachers' lack of perception on assessment and discussed implications for prospective elementary teacher education.

Recently, it is becoming the big issue internationally where the safety problem of the industrial product including the foodstuffs. The way is able to construct the trust of the consumer that the external specialized agency independently operating confirms what production process of the product keep a standard or a technical regulation. This is conformity assessment. In the many countries, agencies entrusted government authority do conformity assessment. Specially, 'certification' in one form of conformity assessment process is operating a certification system at the government and the non-government body in Korea. Also non-government certification is fixed by trusted system from consumer. He has to prepare a competitive power in liberalization time, so need the countermeasure urgently. This study purpose that develops strategy so as to activating of non-government certification system in gist of the origination called 'self-control.' I present activation strategies using SWOT/AHP analysis.

With developments of architectural and information technologies at the knowledge-information oriented society in the 21st century, there are the needs on intelligent buildings equipped with advanced systems to integrate both technologies. The intelligent building means a smart building which provides comfortable environments, realizes fast and speed information and telecommunication network services, and maximizes work productivities by adopting various systems suitable to uses, sizes, and functions of buildings. In order to meet these needs of the times, the domestic intelligent building certification system has been enforced in 2006. Recently, the intelligent building certification system was newly revised for revitalizing the spread of intelligent buildings. Thus, this paper investigates rating criteria and assessment standards of the new certification system focused on office building projects and suggests strategies for obtaining certifications by analyzing cases which were certified on the previous version of the system.

Korean construction industry has developed with national economy growth for a couple of decades. However, because of slump of real estate, the domestic construction industry was intimidated. In this situation, many construction company has no choice but to go abroad to find construction projects. However, almost small or medium-sized construction companies are very hard to operate their business because they have small funding ability and weak labor power. Therefore, this study aims to propose an assessment tool through analyzing risk factors of overseas construction projects for small or medium-sized companies by examining preceding research and interviewing industry experts. Weights of the risk factors are determined through the surveys of the industry practitioners. All of the data is configured into the assessment tool and this converts the quantitative information which leads to the optimal of strategies choice. This paper provides a quantitative measurement of possible performance and detailed assessment of each itemized risk factors. This assessment tool is qualified for industry experts so that it can safely be applied to the future projects. Ultimately, many small or medium sized construction companies will benefit from the tool proposed in this study to examine the potential of the overseas market expansion.
