In this study, for purpose of searching for measures to lower the logistics costs which is one of the most difficulties for the small-medium sized manufacturers in Pusan and Kimhae, those manufacturers were surveyed with questionnaire about the facts in the export logistics costs, difficulties related to the costs, and measures they thought for lowering the cost. Taking account of findings from the survey, the comprehensive measures of saving the export logistics costs were to be proposed. In the surveyed manufacturers, the problems they thought over export logistics costs lied in short logistics information and transportation-related difficulties in cargo and distribution, insufficient standardization in packaging and the shortage of material handling equipments in unloading. In transportation, frequent non-fulfillment of in-time shipment, cost increase including over consumption of transportation time due to traffic jam, and the biased heavy use of inland transportation were pointed out as problems. In customs clearance, logistics information, and marine insurance, addressed were complexity in custom clearance and bonded transportation procedures, and the shortage of software and hardware to construct logistics information system.

The Korean Government has produced the Health Plan 2010 aimed at setting up healthy Korea objectives, policies on preventing chronic diseases, reshaping the country's health and medical infrastructure. The policy goal targets the people's healthy life expectancy at 75 by 2010, and includes healthy life practice measures including health education, health improvement services, and disease management measures, in achieving the objectives. Also, the plan provides life cycle-based health improvement and disease prevention services, as well as pushes ahead with projects with greater ripple effects in each area. To this end, the government is simultaneously pushing to operate an experts-centered health promotion committee and establishing the infrastructure including the augmentation of national health improvement funds. Through its Health Plan 2010, the Korean Government will exert efforts to achieve its policy objectives as addressed in the measures by enhancing the national potential health and providing systematic disease prevention services.

This paper proposes a method to select essential elements in a human evaluation model using the Choquet integral based on fuzzy measures and applies the model to the evaluation of human interface. Three kinds of concepts, Increment Degree, average of Increment Degree, Necessity coefficient, are defined. The proposed method selects essential elements by the use of the Relative necessity coefficient. The proposed method is applied to the analysis of human interface. In the experiment, (1) a warning sound, (2)a color vision, (3) the size of working area, (4) a response of confirmation, are considered as human interface elements. subjects answer the questionnarie after the experiment. From the data of questionnaire, fuzzy measures are identified and are applied to the proposed model. effectiveness of the proposed model is confirmed by the comparison of human interface elements extracted from the proposed model and those from the questionnarie.

The purpose of this study is to derive the actually applicable directions and measures for conservation and restoration according to biotope types. Recently biotope project-installing eco-river, restoring damaged area, protecting habitate for flora and fauna- is processed according to being interested in making and restoring the biotope. But it is lack of study to estimate and systematize which biotope preserve and restore primary. For this purpose, the direction and measures of conservation and restoration be applicable to actuality are drafted by a review on the preceded case studies until now at the inside and outside of the country. And then this study proposed the concept, direction and measures for the effective systematic biotope management through continual feed back such as field applications in selected case study areas and consultations. First, the applicable directions and measures for conservation and restoration according to biotope types is suggested with the 'conservation' divided into two parts; protection and maintenance, the 'restoration', and the 'enhancement' divided into two parts; improvement and creation. Second, for the effective biotope management, the biotope types are classified into urban type, agricultural types and natural types according to the naturalness and dominant landscape. However, this study suggests that the direction and measures suitable to the regional conditions should be reviewed enough and selected and also the detail measures should be supplemented with the foundation of directions and measures for biotope conservation and management proposed in this study because the biotope management should consider regional characteristics.

Allometry, basal area equations, and volume equations were developed with various tree measurement variables for the major species, Quercus mongolica and Quercus variabilis, in Korean natural hardwood forests. For allometry models, the relationships between total height-DBH, crown width-DBH, height to the widest portion of the crown-total height, and height to base of crown-total height were investigated. Multiple regression methods were used to relate annual basal area growth to tree variables of initial size (DBH, total height, crown width) and relative size (relative diameter, relative height) as well as competition measures (competition index, crown class, exposed crown area, percent exposed crown area, live crown ratio). For tree volume equations, the combined-variable and Schumacher models were fitted with DBH, total height and crown width for both species.

The aim of this research is to survey the census of street trees and to provide remedial measures for street trees management to Miryang City. To do this, survey was carried out 16 region units in Miryang City. Through the survey, the current status of street trees’ map was made using automated map. From the results, it is turned out that 17,079 trees have been planted in Miryang City. The major species of street trees are Prunus serrulata var. spontanea(41.6%), Ginkgo biloba(26.1%), Pinus thunbergiana(13.3%) and the others are 12 species(19.0%). By the region units, Samrangjin-Eub is the most that 2,308 street trees are planted, and the next is Chodong-Myon(2,206 trees). The littlest street trees planted region is Cheongdo-Myon. In the results of comparison the component of street trees with other municipal cities, e.g. Seoul, Incheon, Kwangyang etc., only a few street trees have been planted so many in Miryang City. So, Miryang City indicated high proportionate street trees planting ratio. The suggested remedial measures are consisted with identifying the each street, increasing the green area by accepting the suitable street tree planting model, improving the physiological growth condition and systematic management with GIS.

Fire simulation by using a computational fluid dynamics model and examination of the fires at indoor shooting ranges broken out in the past were conducted, to presume causes of the fire at the indoor shooting range in Busan and suggest fire safety measures. On-site investigations and shooting tests on unburned gunpowder were also carried out. No trace of the muzzle spark and spark at the bullet trap was found in CCTV footage, and the impact of a stray bullet failed to ignite gunpowder. Cigarette was therefore presumed to be the most likely source of ignition among the potential sources. It appeared that the explosion in the shooting area was caused by violent burning of the polyurethane sound absorber and unburned gunpowder accumulated on it. The fire safety measures include prohibit of use of profile polyurethane sound absorber, removal of steel components from bullet trap, clean up and control of unburned gunpowder, etc.

In the rural communities in less-favored areas (mainly hilly and mountainous areas) in Japan, the number of settlements which cannot maintain the community functions by themselves has been increasing because of the progress of depopulation and aging, so the necessity for achieving mutual supplementation of the community function by the settlement reorganization has been increasing. This paper consists of the following three points. 1) General view of settlement reorganization policy in Japan. 2) Case study of the T district in Japan. 3) Possibility of the settlement reorganization by the policy measures which obligate community members to work together. Main results are as follows. 1) There are several settlement reorganization policy measures, but many are still the model project stage, and not yet spread, so it is necessary to wait and see how these measures will develop. 2) The number of the residents of small-scale aging settlements who do not hope for the reorganization, nor feel the necessity of reorganization shall not be few. This will make great difficulty in the settlement reorganization process. 3) A local area activity promotion conference which derives from a former administrative unit like a former village has many functions to the settlement reorganization. 4) In the rural communities in less-favored areas, the policy measures which obligate community members to work together have widely spread. These are expected to play the supplemental role for the settlement reorganization. It is necessary to discuss among residents the activation plan and the future vision of the community, as well as to discuss the settlement reorganization.

For the purpose to develop the pattern of a tailored jacket for the Chinese adult women, a drawing method for the pattern of a tailored jacket was selected with the style of 'on&on', a young and casual brand of Beaucre Merchandising Co., Ltd. that has been successful in the China market, and then the measures to be applied were set up by properly combining the body measures such as the mean, mode and median of the entire group from data measured from women of 18 to 24 years old in Shanghai, China in 2008 and the mean body measures of the body type A of 2008 classified by GB/T 1335.2-1997. The pattern of a tailored jacket developed was verified for feasibility based on a wearing test and then revised for the parts with low jacket ability in general including the bust circumference, waist circumference, hip circumference, shoulder, waist back length and back area. The final measures applied for the development of a tailored jacket were 160-165cm for the height, the bust circumference of 87.7cm, waist circumference of 69.6cm and hip circumference of 92.8cm for a jacket.

This study aims to examine the status and problems of trade risk management of Korean companies in Incheon area trading with China and to suggest some improvement measures. On the survey with twenty five questions on company profiles, business process and transactions, claims and trade risks, etc. with Chinese trading partners, the following facts are found. In general, Chinese policies on foreign trade, finance, labour, investment, etc. and China's logistics system have caused great worries to Korean companies in Incheon area. This kind of risks from Chinese government policies and China's economic structure are beyond control of each company. Korean government should take more effective measures to negotiate with Chinese government. In the stage of contract, procurement and transportation, settlement, disputes resolution and etc. Korean companies in Incheon area also have many problems with relatively high risks with Chinese trading partners. Based on these survey results, some suggestions for better trade risk management are given.
