  • In the a rapid changes of the semiconductor manufacturing technologies for early 21st century, it may be safely said that a kernel of terms is the size increase of Si wafer and the size decrease of semiconductor devices. As the size of Si wafers increases and semiconductor device is miniaturized, the units of cleaning processes increases. A present cleaning technology is based upon RCA cleaning which consumes vast chemicals and ultra pure water (UPW) and is the high temperature process. Therefore, this technology gives rise to the environmental issue. To resolve this matter, candidates of advanced cleaning processes has been studied. One of them is to apply the electrolyzed water. In this work, Compared with surface on Si wafer with electrolyzed water cleaning and various chemicals cleaning, and analyzed Si wafer surface condition treated with elecoolyzed water by cleaning temperature and cleaning time. Especially. concentrate upon the contact angle. finally, contact angle on surface treated with cathode water cleaning is 17.28, and anode water cleaning is 34.1.

  • This paper discribes the design concept, fabrication process and measuring result of 2.5kV Gate Commutated Thyristor devices. Integrated gate commutated thyristors(IGCTs) is the new power semiconductor device used for high power inverter, converter, static var compensator(SVC) etc. Most of the ordinary GTOs(gate turn-off thyristors) are designed as non-punch-through(NPT) concept; i.e. the electric field is reduced to zero within the N-base region. In this paper, we propose transparent anode structure for fast turn-off characteristics. And also, to reach high breakdown voltage, we used 2-stage bevel structure. Bevel angle is very important for high power devices, such as thyristor structure devices. For cathode topology, we designed 430 cathode fingers. Each finger has designed $200{\mu}m$ width and $2600{\mu}m$ length. The breakdown voltage between cathode and anode contact of this fabricated GCT device is 2,715V.

  • In a direct coal fuel cell (DCFC) system, it is essential to identify volume fraction of coal suspended in electrolyte melt in order to control its dispersion and fluidity. This requirement is compelling especially at anode channel where hot slurry is likely to flow at low velocity. In this study, light scattering techniques were employed to measure the volume fraction for a pulverized coal suspension with relatively high absorption coefficient. The particle size, scattering angle, and volume fraction were varied to evaluate their effects on the scattering behavior as well as scattering regime. The larger coal size and smaller forward scattering angle could provide a shift to more favorable scattering regime, i.e., independent scattering, where interferences of light scattering from one particle with others are suppressed.

  • To improve dielectric and mechanical properties of insulating composite by plasma surface treatment, new plasma surface treatment process is designed with concentric and hemi-circle electrodes system, the plasma, which is generated between anode and cathode, is induced to the upper side of the electrode system and treats the surface of the insulators. The optimal surface treatment condition is that pressure : 0.5[torr], flux density 100[gauss], discharge current : 500[mA] and treatment time : 3 minutes. The composite filled with glass cloth surface-treated by plasma shows the improvement in electric and mechanical properties, comparing non- and coupling agent-treated samples.

  • Blanking is one of the most frequently used processes in sheet metal forming. In this paper, attention is paid to the blanking simulation of aluminium foil with $20{\mu}m$ thickness which is used an anode in lithium-ion polymer battery. In order to study the shearing mechanism for the metallic foil, finite element analysis with Crockroft and Latham fracture criterion was performed. The objective of the present work is to evolve a methodology to obtain the optimum punch-die clearance for a given aluminium foil by the simulation of the blanking process using a general purpose FEM code.

  • In order to understand and quantitatively analyze the physical phenomena and behavior of each component of mammography system during the breast imaging, we simulated mammography imaging using Monte Carlo simulation codes. MCNP4B code was used for our simulation purpose, and we investigated the effect of target material, anode angle, filtration, peak voltage and exposure on the image quality of mammograms. From the simulation results we expect that optimized operation condition of mammography system can be found.

  • In order to achieve thrust vector control and discharge stabilization in Hall thrusters, the azimuthal nonuniformity of propellant flow rate in an acceleration channel was created. A plenum chamber was divided into two rooms by two walls and propellant flow rate supplied to each section was independently controlled. In a magnetic layer type Hall thruster, steering angle of up to ${\pm}2.3$ degree was achieved. In an anode layer type Hall thruster, discharge current oscillation amplitude was decreased with the normalized differential mass flow rate.

  • The aim of this study is to investigate PAE, as the result of the test of kVp accuracy, according to detector measurement method. Based on the indicated value of 70kVp, each distance between a focus and a kVp meter was 100cm, 80cm and 60cm and the angle of X-ray tube was set on $5^{\circ},\;10^{\circ},\;15^{\circ},\;20^{\circ},\;25^{\circ},\;30^{\circ}$. Each indicated value, 60kVp, 70kVp, 80kVp, 90kVp and 100 kVp, was used compare Small focus with Large focus. As a result, PAE on the side of cathode was higher than it on the side of anode in the case of 100cm and PAE on the side of anode was higher in the case of 80cm and 60cm. The coefficient rate was stable both the side of cathode and anode in the case of 100cm and it was fluctuated in the case of 80cm and 60cm. PAE in the case of Small focus was higher than Large focus and it was disproportionate to an indicated value. Error rate was in inverse proportion to the indicated value.

  • A proton exchange membrane is a core component in the proton exchange membrane fuel cell because the role of proton exchange membrane(PEM)is supplying proton conductivity to fuel cell, a gas separator, and insulating between an anode and cathode. Among various role of PEM, supplying proton conductivity is the most important and the proton conductivity is strongly related the structural evolution of PEM by hydration. Thus a lot of studies have done by past few decade based on small angle X-ray scattering and wide angle X-ray scattering for understanding morphological structure of the PEM. Resulting from these studies, several morphological models of hydrated PEM are proposed. Current sensing atomic force microscopy (CSAFM) can map morphology and conductance on the membrane simultaneously. It can be the best tool for studying heterogenous structured materials such as PEM. In this study, the hydration of the membrane is examined by using CSAFM. Conductance and morphological images are simultaneously mapped under different relative humidity. The conductance images, which are mapped from different relative humidity, are analyzed by statistical methode for understanding ionic channel variation in PEM.
