Transparent conductive ZnO/Ag/ZnO (ZAZ) multilayer films were deposited by Radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering and direct current (DC) magnetron sputtering. The effects of post deposition vacuum annealing temperature on the structural, electrical and optical properties of the ZAZ multilayer films were investigated. The thickness of ZAZ films is kept constant at ZnO 50 nm/Ag 5nm/ZnO 45 nm, while the vacuum annealing temperatures were varied from 200 and $400^{\circ}C$, respectively. As-deposited ZAZ films exhibit a sheet resistance of $6.1{\Omega}/{\Box}$ and optical transmittance of 72.7%. By increasing annealing temperature to $200^{\circ}C$, the resistivity decreased to as low as $5.3{\Omega}/{\Box}$ and optical transmittance also increased to as high as 82.1%. Post-deposition annealing of ZAZ multilayer films lead to considerably lower electrical resistivity and higher optical transparency, simultaneously by increased crystallization of the films.
Rice was steeped at elevated temperatures of $40,\;50,\;or\;60^{\circ}C$ for 2 hr, and physicochemical properties of starches isolated from wet-milled rice flour were investigated. Steeping at elevated temperatures slightly decreased lightness of rice starch, while increased yellowness and redness. Average granule size of rice starch was decreased by steeping treatment. Swelling power and solubility increased as temperature increased. Starch from rice steeped at $40^{\circ}C$ displayed highest swelling power and solubility. Differential scanning calorimetry data of starch obtained from steeped rice at $60^{\circ}C$ showed increased onset and peak temperatures, with narrower gelatinization temperature range, suggesting partial annealing effect. Pasting properties of starch measured by Rapid Visco-Analyzer indicated increased peak viscosity due to rice steeping at $40^{\circ}C$. Peak and breakdown viscosities decreased at $50\;and\;60^{\circ}C$, whereas setback and final viscosities increased.

The zinc oxide (ZnO) material as the II-VI compound semiconductor is useful in various fields of device applications such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs), solar cells and gas sensors due to its wide direct band gap of 3.37eV and high exciton binding energy of 60meV at room temperature. In this study, the ZnO nanorods were deposited onto homogenous buffer layer/Si(100) substrates by a hydrothermal synthesis. The Effects of the buffer layer annealing and post annealing temperature on the structural and optical properties of ZnO nanorods grown by a hydrothermal synthesis were investigated. For the buffer layer annealing case, the annealed buffer layer surface became rougher with increasing of annealing temperature up to $750^{\circ}C$, while it was smoothed with more increasing of annealing temperature due to the evaporation of buffer layer. It was found that the roughest surface of buffer layer improved the structural and optical properties of ZnO nanorods. For the post annealing case, the hydrothermally grown ZnO nanorods were annealed with various temperatures ranging from 450 to $900^{\circ}C$. Similarly in the buffer layer annealing case, the post annealing enhanced the properties of ZnO nanorods with increasing of annealing temperature up to $750^{\circ}C$. However, it was degraded with further increasing of annealing temperature due to the violent movement of atoms and evaporation. Finally, the buffer layer annealing and post annealing treatment could efficiently improve the properties of hydrothermally grown ZnO nanorods. The morphology and structural properties of ZnO nanorods grown by the hydrothermal synthesis were measured by atomic force microscopy (AFM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and x-ray diffraction (XRD). The optical properties were also analyzed by photoluminescence (PL) measurement.
As Ag does not form my silicide on Si surfaces, Ag wire is a candidate for self-assembled nanowire on the reconstructed and single-domain Si(5 5 12)-2 $\times$ 1. In the present study, various Ag coverages and post-annealing temperatures had been tested to fabricate a Ag nanowire with high aspect ratio. When Ag coverage was less than 0.03 ML and the post-annealing temperature was 500(C, Ag atoms preferentially adsorbed on the tetramer sites resulting in Ag wires with an inter-row spacing of ~5 nm. However, its aspect ratio is relatively small and its height is also not even. On the other hand, the Ag-posited surface completely loses its reconstruction even with the same annealing at 500 $\^{C}$ if the initial coverage exceeds 0.05 ML. But the additional subsequent annealing at 700$\^{C}$ and slow-cooling process recovers the well-ordered Ag chain with relatively high aspect ratio on the same tetramer sites. It can be understood that, in the double step annealing process, the lower temperature annealing is required for cohesion of adsorbed Ag atoms and the higher temperature annealing is for providing Ag atoms to the tetramer sites.

Intrinsic and proximity gettering are popular processes to get higher cumulative production yield and usually adopt multi-step annealing and high energy ion implantation, respectively. In order to test the combined processed of these, high energy \ulcornerAs\ulcorner ion implantation and 2-step annealing process were adopted. After the ion implantation followed by 2-step annealing, the wafers were cleaved and etched with Wright etchant. The morphology of cross section on samples was inspected by FESEM. The concentration profile of As was measured by SRP. The location and type of secondary defects inspected by HRTEM were dependent on the 1st annealing temperatures. That is, a line of dislocation located at $1.5mutextrm{m}$ apart from the surface at $600^{\circ}C$ lst annealing was changed to some dislocation lines or loops nearby the surface at 100$0^{\circ}C$. The density of dislocation line was reduced but the size of the defects was enlarged as the temperature increased.
Co nanoparticles on silica substrates were fabricated by inducing a thin-film dewetting through two different processes-furnace annealing and pulsed-laser annealing. The effects of annealing temperature, film thickness and laser energy density on dewetting morphology and mechanism were investigated. Co thinfilms with thicknesses between 3 to 15 nm were deposited using ion-beam sputtering, and then, in order to induce dewetting, thermally annealed in furnace at temperatures between 600 and $900^{\circ}C$. Some as-deposited films were irradiated using a Nd-YAG pulsed-laser of 266 nm wavelength to induce dewetting in liquid-state. Films annealed in furnace agglomerated to form nanoparticles above $700^{\circ}C$, and those average particle size and spacing were increased with an increase of film thickness. On the laser annealing process, above the energy density of $100mJ/cm^2$, metal films were completely dewetted and the agglomerated particles exhibited greater size uniformity than those on the furnace annealing process. A detailed dewetting mechanism underlaying both processes were discussed.
Fe/Co and FeN/CoN multilayer films were prepared by using RF and DC magnetron sputter^ ing technique with Ar or a mixture of Ar and $N_{2}$ gas. Annealing treatment was carried out in a vacuum at temperatures between $100^{\circ}C$ and $500^{\circ}C$ for lhour. Saturation magnetization (MS) and coercivity (Hc) of Fe/Co mutilayer films were investigated as a function of Fe layer thickness and annealing temperature. Permeability ($\mu$) was also examined. Saturation magnetization of 1.8T and coercivity of 1.80e were obtained for the as-deposited Fe/Co($70 \AA /15 \AA$) multilayer film. The Coercivity(Hc) did not change from 1.8 Oe till the annealing temperature $250^{\circ}C$ and then increased rapidly at higher annealing temperatures above $300^{\circ}C$. Coercivity(Hc) measured for the as-deposited FeN/CoN multilayer film was 5 Oe. It decreased gradually with annealing up to $250^{\circ}C$, and then increased rapidly at higher tempera tures.
The silicide layer used as a diffusion barrier in microelectronics is typically required to be below 50 nm-thick and, the same time, the silicides also need to have low contact resistance without agglomeration at high processing temperatures. We fabricated Si(100)/15 nm-Ni/15 nm-Co samples with a thermal evaporator, and annealed the samples for 40 seconds at temperatures ranging from $700^{\circ}C$ to $1100^{\circ}C$ using rapid thermal annealing. We investigated microstructural and compositional changes during annealing using transmission electron microscopy and auger electron spectroscopy. Sheet resistance of the annealed sample stack was measured with a four point probe. The sheet resistance measurements for our proposed Co/Ni composite silicide was below 8 $\Omega$/sq. even after annealing $1100^{\circ}C$, while conventional nickel-monosilicide showed abrupt phase transformation at $700^{\circ}C$. Microstructure and auger depth profiling showed that the silicides in our sample consisted of intermixed phases of $CoNiSi_{x}$ and NiSi. It was noticed that NiSi grew rapidly at the silicon interface with increasing annealing temperature without transforming into $NiSi_2$. Our results imply that Co/Ni composite silicide should have excellent high temperature stability even in post-silicidation processes.
The effects of the deposition and annealing temperature on the structural, electrical and optical properties of Ag doped ZnO (ZnO : Ag) thin films were investigated. All of the films were deposited with a 2wt% $Ag_2O-doped$ ZnO target using an e-beam evaporator. The substrate temperature varied from room temperature (RT) to $250^{\circ}C$. An undoped ZnO thin film was also fabricated at $150^{\circ}C$ as a reference. The as-grown films were annealed in temperatures ranging from 350 to $650^{\circ}C$ for 5 h in air. The Ag content in the film decreased as the deposition and the post-annealing temperature increased due to the evaporation of the Ag in the film. During the annealing process, grain growth occurred, as confirmed from XRD and SEM results. The as-grown film deposited at RT showed n-type conduction; however, the films deposited at higher temperatures showed p-type conduction. The films fabricated at $150^{\circ}C$ revealed the highest hole concentration of $3.98{\times}1019\;cm^{-3}$ and a resistivity of $0.347\;{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$. The RT PL spectra of the as-grown ZnO : Ag films exhibited very weak emission intensity compared to undoped ZnO; moreover, the emission intensities became stronger as the annealing temperature increased with two main emission bands of near band-edge UV and defect-related green luminescence exhibited. The film deposited at $150^{\circ}C$ and annealed at $350^{\circ}C$ exhibited the lowest value of $I_{vis}/I_{uv}$ of 0.05.

Recently, low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology has gained a remarkable application potential in sensors, actuators and microsystems fields. In this study, we investigated the effects of annealing treatment on the electrical properties of $Pb(ZrTi)O_3$ (PZT) thin films deposited on LTCC substrate. The LTCC substrates with thickness of 400 ${\mu}m$ were fabricated by laminating 12 green tapes which consist of alumina and glass particle in an organic binder. The PZT thin films were deposited on Au/LTCC substrates by RF magnetron sputtering method. Then, the change of the crystallization of the films was investigated under various annealing temperatures. The results showed that the crystallization of the films were enhanced as increasing annealing temperatures. The film, annealed at $700^{\circ}C$, 3min, was well crystallized in the ferovskite structure. The structural variation of the films were analyzed by using X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and field emmision scanning electron microscopy (FESEM).
