Comparison on the education effects of cardiopulmonary resuscitation application using smart-phone -Focused on animation CPR and modified pocket CPR- (스마트폰을 활용한 심폐소생술 어플리케이션의 교육 효과 비교 -애니메이션을 활용한 심폐소생술과 변형된 포켓 심폐소생술을 중심으로-)

  • This study aimed to compare the education effect of easily accessible cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) applications on smart-phones. The differences of performance and accuracy of CPR between animation CPR group and modified Pocket CPR group in Reserve Officers' Training Corps students of K university were evaluated by 2010 AHA guidelines. Data were collected from May 19, 2012 to May 20, 2012. There was no statistically significant difference between both of group in the performance and accuracy of CPR. However, the modified Pocket CPR group showed significant increase in the accuracy of chest compression depth (26.4%, p<.05), while the animation CPR group showed significant increase in the accuracy of chest compression location after the education (25.2%, p<.01). In conclusion, the methods using advantage and complementing disadvantage of animation CPR application and Pocket CPR application could help that people could easily access and perform to CPR.

  • Nowadays the use of computer has a tendency to be being increased in classroom. Also, Many mathematics teachers are attempting to use computer efficiently in classroom. Computer has unique functions such as graphic, animation, and error correction. As graphic and animation can make the content of mathematics visible and make it easy for learners to study mathematics, it is desirable to develop the computer educational program and use it in teaching and learning mathematics. Especially, before concepts study on the unit of Figure or Function, the use of graphic or animation is efficient by being able to understand easily the content. The purpose of this thesis is to produce the computer program on the Movement of Figure in the unit of Equation of Figure which is in mathematics curriculum for the first grade of high school. In teaching and learning mathematics by use of this program, the educational effects are expected as follows: 1. It is expected that this program will stimulate the interest of learners by using animation and acoustic (sound) effect and so learners' voluntary and active thinking activity will be shown. 2. It will be helpful to form exact concept because it is possible to understand intuitively the basic concepts on the Movement of Figure by using graphic and animation. 3. It is expected that the repeated study of this program already designed will remove the fear of incomplete parts and help review them. 4. It is possible to change from teacher-centered instruction, which is the blind point of recent mathematics education, to the learner-centered instruction. However, it is necessary to realize that using the educational engineering (computer) in mathematics education cannot always cause learners to study mathematics very well and that computer cannot take the place of mathematics teacher. Accordingly, computer will be treated as aids which help learners study difficult part.

The analysis of configuration and errors in animation sections of middle school art textbook (중학교 미술교과서 애니메이션 단원의 구성 및 오류 분석)

  • As the importance of visual media has been highlighted, the proportion of the animation curriculum is growing in middle school curriculum. However, the analysis of errors in the textbook is very important for the authentic education. The present art textbooks were authorized as 7 kinds-total 21 books of the 7th curriculum and have been used in junior high schools since 2001. As an analysis configuration or errors in the animation section of art textbooks, the problems were as follows. Firstly, the animation section has considerable differences depend on the contents and the authors of the textbooks. Secondly, the most practical contents are at the first stage of the production of video equipment. In addition, ineffective picture process, incorrect concepts and terminology are presented. There were also errors in using them.

Effects of Utilizing Animation Prior to Fundamental Nursing Practice on Learning Motivation and Self-Directedness in Student Nurses (기본간호학 실습교육의 동영상 사전학습에 대한 간호학생의 학습동기 및 자기주도성의 효과)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine learning motivation and self-directedness when animation prior learning of fundamental nursing practice education was used. Method: For the study 220 nursing students participated in a fundamental nursing practice session after prior study using animation every week for 15 weeks. They responded to questionnaires that included measures of learning motivation and self-directedness. Results: There was no statistically significant difference in total scores for learning motivation over the 15 weeks of the practice sessions, but there was a difference for self-directedness. There was a significant difference in learning motivation in the group that always watched the animation and for which animation helped with the practice sessions and where the application purpose was postive. There was a difference in self-directedness for the students whose future was described as health teachers and where the application purpose was positive. Learning motivation showed positive correlations with self-directedness. Conclusion: Learning motivation and self-directedness utilizing animation prior to fundamental nursing practice were high and correlated with each other indicating the usefulness of this teaching method.

  • Recently, the animation market requires a new consumption form of animation contents that can meet the trend and environment of a new era. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to seek new changes in paradigm by analyzing the animation examples from media to media in order to confirm in which form animation genres are changed in the ers of media convergence. The finding shows that the paradigm changes in animation are essentially caused by the development of internet communication technology, the interactiveness, and the emergence of new media by media characteristics. As a result, the environment of consumption involves the introduction of active marketing centered on personal media and the new insight into the genre of animation, and the industry of animation has a high possibility of developing into a leading industry in the future based on the development of creation technology and on the paradigm of empirical economy and requires the animation education based on new media. This study will find its significance in that it may provide the basis of study in terms of theory and practice of the creation animation research focused on new media.

The Usage of Animation and Social value.Clothing behavior of Adolescents (청소년들의 애니메이션 이용현황과 사회적 가치관.의복행동에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the usage of animation and its relation to the social values and clothing behaviour of adolescents. A survey was conducted in four different high schools in the metropolitan area (Seoul) and 187copies were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 package. The results were as follows; First, According to Usage survey, a number of adolescents watched animations mainly through the internet and 39% of them used the internet $2{\sim}3$ times a week. The most watched genre of animation was action/science-fiction but some differences were observed between male students and female students. Male students enjoyed action/science-fiction, comedy and drama/romance, whereas female students enjoyed drama/romance, action/science-fiction and comedy in the decreasing order. Second, It was found that the favorite genre of animation by adolescents had influence on their community mind and materialism. The most significant genre affectingcommunity life was drama/romance and the one affecting materialism of adolescents was action/science-fiction. Third, Materialism had a significant influence on clothing conformity and the next was community mind. Only materialism proved to be a significant variable affecting fashion followers. In conclusion, the results of this study showed that the adolescents' community life and materialism were significantly influenced by their favorite genre of the animation, and their social values were related to their clothing behaviors.

  • This paper designed 3D animation in consideration of human characteristics to stimulate their interest and to be more understandable to them. It was also confirmed that, using the 3D animation contents, general people came to recognize the problem of environment pollution and developed desirable attitude and behavior for protecting the environment. Furthermore, this paper suggested the ruins original form restoration technique of the residential environment and the natural environment of Hanyang in the Joseon Dynasty period using the 3D virtual reality digital recovery techniques.

  • The proposed authoring tool with user's friendly interface provides to author multimedia animation lectures which can support the efficient environments of cyber educations. Coping with difficulties of merging and editing of each multimedia data provided to convert from multimedia generation properties to SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Language) files. The tool also helps lecturers to author the animation lectures easily. Futhermore, it can be easily transferred from multimedia contents to web page.

The Learning Effect of Teaching Materials Using Computer Animation of Particulate Model in Elementary School Science Classes (초등학교 과학 수업에 적용한 입자 모델의 컴퓨터 애니메이션 교수자료의 학습 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate effects of computer animations using particulate model in elementary science classes related to air pressure. To do those, four classes of 5th grade in an elementary school located in a city were selected. As an experiment group, two classes were applied the teaching materials of computer animations developed for this study based on particulate model. The other classes as a control group were not applied these materials in science classes. The total scores of experiment group in which computer animation using particulate model was applied in science classes are higher than those of the control group in the conception test. Only in one conception related to high and low atmospheric air pressure, the scores of the two groups are not significantly different at 0.05 significance level.

  • Advances in computer technology have made it possible for educators to design and develop their own multimedia instructional materials using visuals such as animation. Although, it generally believed that the Mew attribute of computer animation facilitates student's foaming, there is still relatively little research regarding the way in which student benefit from multimedia instruction using 3-D animation. The purpose of this research was to examine and determine whether the use of 3-D computer generated images is an effective teaching device for hoping children to understand color theory, and enhancing the tractional methods. In this study, a 3-D computer generated presentation was creative and it demonstrated the mixing of primary color to obtain secondary color. Three research hypotheses were developed in this research. The first hypothesis stated that 3-D computer generated presentation will be an effective device for teaching color theory. The second was that the presentation will be eye-catching and it will hold the children's attention. The third was presentation would enhance the children's memory of color. Results of this study show that visualization technology and the use of 3-D graphics ends can be employed in the field of art education to increases a chi1d's understanding of color theory. Also, it was proved that teaching children through 3-D graphic is an highly effective teaching tool. Thus this research is a oontribution to both children's au education and the relatively new field of computer animation.
