  • To study the visual evaluation on the effect of ruffle's gather, the aesthetic evaluation on the gather's measurements and the image evaluation were performed. Evaluated fabrics were cotton, wool ani synthetic fiber, and 3 kinds of thickness for each fabric were selected. In order to seek for aesthetic gather's measurements, we performed the sensory test by the Rank Method on 5 kinds of gather's measurements(I.5 times, 1. 8times, 2times, 2.5 times, 3 times). For the image evaluation on the effect of the gather, we performed the sensory test by the Semantic Differential Method on the gather's measurements were got high score in the sensory test of the gather's measurements and analyzed by means of a Factor Analysis. The results were as follows. 1. Except 2 times of fabric $A_1$(thin cotton), the aesthetic gather's measurements of the ruffle were evaluted 2.5 times in cotton and synthetic fiber, and 2 times in wool. Generally the aesthetic gather's measurements of the ruffle were 2$\~$2.5 times. 2. The image characteristics of the ruffle were established the characteristics of the fabrics as factor 1, the characteristics of the atomosphere as factor 2 and the characteristics of the drape as factor 3. Therefore, we must consider the characteristics of the fabric, the atomosphere and the drape of the ruffle in production of the ruffle.

  • pp.Hartman and G. Stampacchia [6] proved the following theorem in 1966: If f:X.rarw. $R^{n}$ is a continuous map on a compact convex subset X of $R^{n}$ , then there exists $x_{0}$ ..mem.X such that $x_{0}$ , $x_{0}$ -x>.geq.0 for all x.mem.X. This remarkable result has been investigated and generalized by F.E. Browder [1], [2], W. Takahashi [9], S. Park [8] and others. For example, Browder extended this theorem to a map f defined on a compact convex subser X of a topological vector space E into the dual space $E^{*}$; see [2, Theorem 2]. And Takahashi extended Browder's theorem to closed convex sets in topological vector space; see [9, Theorem 3]. In Section 2, we obtain some variational inequalities, especially, generalizations of Browder's and Takahashi's theorems. The generalization of Browder's is an earlier result of the first author [8]. In Section 3, using Theorem 1, we improve and extend some known fixed pint theorems. Theorems 4 and 8 improve Takahashi's results [9, Theorems 5 and 9], respectively. Theorem 4 extends the first author's fixed point theorem [8, Theorem 8] (Theorem 5 in this paper) which is a generalization of Browder [1, Theroem 1]. Theorem 8 extends Theorem 9 which is a generalization of Browder [2, Theorem 3]. Finally, in Section 4, we obtain variational inequalities for multivalued maps by using Theorem 1. We improve Takahashi's results [9, Theorems 21 and 22] which are generalization of Browder [2, Theorem 6] and the Kakutani fixed point theorem [7], respectively.ani fixed point theorem [7], respectively.

  • It has been reported that ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme 9 (Ubc9), the unique enzyme2 in the sumoylation pathway, is up-regulated in many cancers. However, the expression and regulation of UBC9 in glioma remains unknown. In this study, we found that Ubc9 was up-regulated in glioma tissues and cell lines compared to a normal control. UBC9 knockdown by small interfering RNA (siRNA) affected cell proliferation and apoptosis in T98G cells. Further experiments revealed that microRNA (miR)-214 directly targeted the 3' untranslated region (UTR) of UBC9 and that there was an inverse relationship between the expression levels of miR-214 and UBC9 protein in glioma tissues and cells. miR-214 overexpression suppressed the endogenous UBC9 protein and affected T98G cell proliferation. These findings suggest that miR-214 reduction facilitates UBC9 expression and is involved in the regulation of glioma cell proliferation.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the Ku which was worn by nomadic tribes which was Khitai, Mongols and Manchus. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. The fur clothes were very important clothes that nomadic tribes put on in order to protect them against the cold. The Ku was an outfit for protection against the cold. It was made of ani-mal fur and its style was tight sleeve and long dress. 2. The Ku was worn in all social classes including emperor, nobles and the masses in ancient China and Asia dynasty. After the nomadic tribes estabilished dynasty in China the style of Ku was changed. All kinds of animal fur was used to make the Ku but the volume of fur, kinds and colors were classified severely by their social position. In Khitai dynasty the Ku was worn in same style. But the emperor wore the Ku of silver marten. The noble class wore the Ku of purple, black and blue marten and silver squirrel skin. The masses wore the Ku of the other colors marten, sheep, squirrel and dessert fox skin. In Mongol dynasty, the emperor wore the Ku of purple marten, silver squirrel, silver fox and black fox skin. The nobles wore the Ku of the other colors marten and squirrel. The masses wore the Ku of degraded animal fur. Before the Manchus estabilished the varient races dynasty in China, the rich man preferred the Ku of marten, squirrel, fox, goat furs. But the poorman preferred the Ku of cow, horses, pig, sheep, cat, dog, snake and deer skin. After the manchus conquered the China, the manners of dress were changed. Generally the fur did not appear in right side of garment, but high quality or noble fur appeared outside. Sometimes the inside or outside of Ku was made of silk fabrics and sleeves, neck-band was made of the high quality fur.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the analytical accuracy and precision of microwave oven digestion/atomi absorption spectrophotometry (AAS) for analyzing airborne chromium collected on mixed cellulose ester membrane (M filter from the work environment, and to compare the accuracy and the precision with those of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Method #7024 hot plate digestion/AAS method. For this study, field air sample pairs were collected from a electroplating process, and spiked samples in a laboratory were prepared and using these samples. Two digestion methods were comp; and evaluated in terms of recovery rate and bias as indices of accuracy and coefficient of variation as a index of precision. The results and conclusions are as follows. In spiked samples, the accuracies (% mean recoveries) of hot plate/AAS and microwave oven/AAS method were 97.19%, 97.1%, respectively, and the precisions (pooled respectively, and the precisions (pooled coefficient of variance, $CV_{pooled}$) 6.93% and 3.88%, respectively. The biases of hot plate ani microwave oven methods were 4.56 - 14.7% and 2.22 - 7.42% respectively. There was no statistically significant difference between hot plate and microwave oven methods recovery rates of spiked samples (p>0,05). Also, no statistically significant difference was shown among the concentrations of air samples determined by two method (p>0.05). In conclusion, microwave oven/AAS method h excellent accuracy and precision, and advantages such as time-saving and simple procedure in comparison with the classical NIOSH method. Therefore, this method can be use widely to analyze airborne chromium collected on MCE filter from the work environments.

  • Alfalfa grows wild in some parts of Korea, but specific information is lacking as to its growth characteristics, nutritive value and dry matter yeild. The objective of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of wild alfalfa(Medicago sativa L.) as a forage. Wild alfalfa and 'Vernal' were field sown at Keongsan, Keongbuk in the spring of 1995. Emergence for 'Vernal' was better than for wild alfalfa. It was observed that the flowering date of the wild alfalfa was delayed by 8 days. Regrowth of 'Vernal' was better than that of the wild alfalfa at each harvesting. After the last harvesting date, September 22, there was poor regrowth of the wild alfalfa, but regrowth of 'Vernal' was moderately vigorous growth. Weed infestation in the wild alfalfa plots was higher than in the 'Vernal' plots. Thle dry matter yields per hectare were significantly(P<0.05) higher for 'Vernal' than for the wild alfalfa. The CP content was slightly higher in the wild alfalfa in comparison to 'Vernal'. NDF and ADF contents were lower in the third cut, but they were not different in the 1st and 2nd cuttings.

  • A high-performance liquid chromatographic method was employed for the determination of bumetanide in human plasma. After addition of internal standard (IS, naproxen) and acidification of the plasma with 1 M hydrochloric acid, the drug and IS were extracted into dichloromethane. The organic phase was back-extracted into 1 M sodium bicarbonate solution and 50 ${\mu}l$ of the aqueous phase was injected onto a reversed-phase C18 column with a mobile phase consisting of methanol: water: glacial acetic acid = 65 : 35 : 1. The samples were detected utilizing a fluorescence detector (excitation wavelength 235 nm, emission wavelength 405 nm). The method was specific and validated with a lower limit of 5 ng/mL. Intra- and inter-day precision and accuracy were acceptable for all quality control samples including the lower limit of quantification. The applicability of the method was demonstrated by analysis of plasma after oral administration of a single 2 mg dose to 24 healthy subjects. From the plasma bumetanide concentration vs. time curves, the mean AUC was $246.5{\pm}73.8\;ng{\cdot}hr/mL$ and $C_{max}$ of $132.1{\pm}40.9$ ng/mL reached 1.2 hr after administration. The mean biological half-life of burnet ani de was $1.1{\pm}0.2$hr. Based on the results, this simple and validated assay method could readily be used in any pharmacokinetic or bioequivalence studies using humans.

  • Theoretical considerations on a giant magneto-impedance (GMI) effect in amorphous ribbons (i.e., thin films) have been made in terms of the expressions of effective permeability and impedance derived in the frame of classical electrodynamics and ferromagnetism. The dependence of GMI effect on the external do magnetic field (H$\_$ext/) and the frequency of alternating current are simulated and discussed in the knowledge of energy conversion consisting of the current energy loss, the ferromagnetic energy consumption, and the magnetic energy storage in the film. The obtained results are summarized as follow: (a) As frequency f< 20 ㎒, the real part of effective permeability (${\mu}$′) changes slightly. The peak of the ${\mu}$′curve always locates at H$\_$ext/=H$\_$ani/ - the anisotropy field. However, the peak value of ${\mu}$′ tends to increase with increasing frequency in the frequency range of 11-20 ㎒. (b) In the frequency range, f= 21-23 ㎒, a negative peak additionally appears. Meanwhile, both the positive and negative peak values rapidly increase with increasing frequency and their peak positions shift towards a high H$\_$ext/. (c) The positive peak value of ${\mu}$′ starts to decrease at f= 29 ㎒ and its negative peak does so at about 35 ㎒. Then, both peaks keep such a tendency and their peak positions move to high H$\_$ext/, as increasing frequency. (d) The dependence of the imaginary part of effective permeability (${\mu}$") on the external dc magnetic field and the frequency of the alternating field indicates that there is only one peak involved in ${\mu}$" for the whole frequency range. (e) The impedance vs. magnetic field curves at various frequencies show that there is a critical value of frequency around f= 18-19 ㎒ where the transition between two frequency regimes occurs; the one (low frequency) in which ${\mu}$′ predominantly contributes to the GMI effect and the other (high frequency) in which ${\mu}$" determines the GMI effect.
