Purpose: The descriptive study was designed to examine the relationship of eating attitudes to the internalization of sociocultural attitudes, body shape satisfaction, anger and anger expression in college women. Method: 247 women were recruited from one college located in Seoul, Korea. The instruments used were the Internalization subscale of SATAQ-3R, BSQ for body shape satisfaction, Spielberger's state trait anger expression inventory-Korean version for anger and anger expression, and the Eating Attitude Test(EAT-26) for eating attitudes. Results: The score of EAT significantly correlated with internalization, state anger, body shape satisfaction, and anger expression except trait anger. The significant predictors of eating attitudes in college women were body shape satisfaction and anger expression, explaining 55% of the variance in eating attitudes. Conclusion: This study showed that body shape satisfaction is an important predictor for an eating disorder. Therefore, various programs for cognitive changes correcting the understanding about body and weight need to be developed in the future.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of anger expression in middle-aged Korean women by categorizing their patterns of expression while considering the complexity and multidimensionality of anger, and by investigating the characteristics relative to the patterns. Methods: The research design was a descriptive design using Q methodology, which is a method of measuring subjectivity. A convenience sample of 42 participants aged 40-60 years and living in the community in Korea was recruited. The PC-QUANL software program (a factor analysis program for the Q technique) was used to analyze the Q-sort data. Results: Four factors were extracted that described different expressions of anger among middle-aged Korean women; these factors explained 50.1% of the total variance. The frames of reference of the four factors were a) direct diversion, b) silent masking with remaining anger, c) self digestion, and d) controlling anger with objectification. Conclusion: In this study has identified patterns and characteristics of anger expression among middle-aged Korean women were identified, which will aid the development of effective anger-management programs for controlling anger in this population. In future studies, it would be helpful to investigate how the patterns of anger expression established herein are associated with specific health problems such as cardiovascular disorder and cancer.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships among trait anger, anger expression, job satisfaction, job commitment, and organizational performance, and especially to verify the effect of anger experience on organizational performance. Method: A descriptive study was conducted using a convenient sample. Data were collected by a self-report questionnaire from 671 clinical nurses in three university hospitals and analyzed by using SPSS 14.0 Win program with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Result: Organizational performance was significantly correlated with trait anger, anger expression-in, anger expression-out, anger control, job satisfaction, and job commitment. Multiple regression analysis showed that organizational performance was significantly predicted by job commitment, job satisfaction, educational level (university graduation), anger control, and working place (operative room), and 34.7% was explained by these variables. Conclusions: Out of anger expression, anger control significantly affected on organizational performance together with job commitment and job satisfaction. From this result, it could be concluded that nursing intervention for anger control have a positive effect on improving organizational performance. Further studies are needed to develop and test the effect of nursing intervention programs for anger control.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among anger expression mode, depression, and blood pressure. Method : Eight hundred sixty-eight male military draftees were asked during the examination procedure to answer Spielberger's Anger Expression Inventory, MMPI Repression Scale, and Beck Depression Inventory(BDI). Blood pressures, weight, and height were also measured. Results : 1) No significant difference was found in the anger-in and anger-out subscales of Spielberger Anger Expression Inventory, MMPI Repression Scale, and BDI between the hypertensives and the normotensives. 2) No significant difference of blood pressure was found between the groups determined by upper and lower 25% of each of the above scales and inventory. 3) The interaction effect of anger-in and anger-out on depression was found to be significant. Conclusion : These findings suggest that there is no relationship among anger-in, anger-out, depression, and blood pressure in young male military draftees. Interestingly, ambivalence of anger expression, i.e. the interaction of anger-in and anger-out, was found to be an important factor related to depression.
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to examine the level of anger, anger expression, depression, psychosomatic symptom and perceived health status, and to identify the influencing factors of anger expression in shelter residents. Methods: This study employed a descriptive correlational design. Data were collected from 407 homeless people residing at 27 shelters using structured instrument. Results: The level of anger expression was different by age, educational level, existence of children, and duration of shelter residency. Anger expression was significantly correlated with depression, psychosomatic symptoms and perceived health status. The predictors of high-level anger expression was younger age, low educational level, duration of shelter residency in Model 1 (F=6.884, p<.001, Adj. $R^2=.065$, and depression and psychosomatic symptoms in Model 2 (F=7.197, p<.001, Adj. $R^2=.113$. Conclusion: This study suggested that the homeless in the shelters had various psychological vulnerabilities, and therefore more individualized programs based on their needs and psychological health status should be provided for the homeless.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify the influence of nurses' resilience and anger expression styles on their nursing work performance in emergency departments. Methods: The study included 107 nurses from 5 hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do who consented to participate. Data ware collected from March to April 2016. Multiple regression analysis was used to identify factors influencing nurses' performance. Results: Nurses' performance was higher when resilience was high and anger expression was low. The result of the multiple regression indicated that present working years in the emergency room, work satisfaction, anger expression, anger control, and resilience predicted 39.4% (F=7.27, p<.001) of the nursing performance of hospital nurses in emergency departments. The most powerful predictor was resilience (${\beta}=.45$, p<.001), followed by anger-out (${\beta}=-.25$, p=.006). Conclusion: This study showed that the most influential variables of work performance in emergency nurses ware resilience and anger expression. To enhance the nursing performance of hospital nurses in emergency departments, it is necessary to develop and implement mentorship programs that enhance resilience and educational programs that help them manage their anger.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between depression, perceived stress, fatigue and anger in clinical nurses. Method: A descriptive survey was conducted using a convenient sample. Data was collected by questionnaires from four hundred clinical nurses who worked at a university hospital. Radloff's CES-D for depression, Cohen, Kamarck & Mermelstein's Perceived Stress Scale, VAS for Fatigue, and Spielberger's STAXI for anger were used. The data was analyzed using the pearson correlation coefficient, students' t-test, ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 12.0. Result: The depression of clinical nurses showed a significantly positive correlation to perceived stress(r=.360, p=.000), mental fatigue(r=.471, p=.000), physical fatigue(r=.350, p=.000), trait anger(r=.370, p=.000), anger-in expression(r=.231, p=.000), and anger-control expression(r=.120, p=.016). There was a negative correlation between depression and age(r=-.146, p=.003). The mean score of depression of nurses, 26, was a very high score and 40.8% of clinical nurses were included in a depression group. The main significant predictors influencing depression of clinical nurses were mental fatigue, trail anger, perceived stress, anger-in expression, and state anger, which explained about 32.7%. Conclusion: These results indicate that clinical nurses with a high degree of perceived stress, mental fatigue and anger-in expression are likely to be depressed.
