  • We face with numerous situation of decision making. In this situation, we would make decision through individual's own information, or others' decision making with ignoring private information, Also we would make decision through compromise of private information and others' information. like this, we call situation to imitate information of previous decision maker, with disregarding private own information,'information cascades' Also, anchoring effects are results of insufficient adjustment from an arbitrary value. In this paper, we examined how information cascades effects and anchoring effects would be generated in the people who use IT technique as instant poll of website. And this paper presents alternatives to decrease information cascades effects and anchoring effects. This exercise provides facts anchoring effects occur when voters can see poll result. And this paper shows that more degree of output difference is deepened, and more anchoring effects occur. Also this paper shows that when website gives positive payoff, more anchoring effects occur.

  • Objective : A distal navigation of a large bore aspiration catheter during mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is important. However, delivering a large bore aspiration catheter is difficult to a tortuous or atherosclerotic artery. We report the experience of anchoring with balloon guide catheter (BGC) and stent retriever to facilitate the passage of an aspiration catheter in MT. Methods : When navigating an aspiration catheter failed with a conventional co-axial microcatheter delivery, an anchoring technique was used. Two types of anchoring technique were applied to facilitate distal navigation of a large bore aspiration catheter during MT. First, a passage of aspiration catheter was attempted with a proximal BGC anchoring technique. If this technique also failed, another anchoring technique with distal stent retriever was tried. Consecutive patients who underwent MT with an anchoring technique were identified. Details of procedure, radiologic outcomes, and safety variables were evaluated. Results : A total of 67 patients underwent MT with an anchoring technique. Initial trial of aspiration catheter passage with proximal BGC anchoring technique was successful for 35 patients (52.2%) and the second trial with distal stent retriever anchoring was successful for 32 patients (47.8%). Overall, navigation of a large bore aspiration catheter was successful for all patients (100%) without any procedure related complications. Conclusion : Our study showed the usefulness of anchoring technique with proximal BGC and distal stent retriever during MT, especially in those with an unfavorable anatomical structure. This technique could be an alternative option for delivering an of aspiration catheter to a distal location.

  • As a flexible supporting structure, the anchoring frame structure is widely adopted to support multistage slopes in high earthquake-intensity area for its effectiveness and practicality. The previous study indicates that the anchor of anchoring frame structure is the most likely to be damaged during earthquakes. It is crucial to determine the pull-out capacity of anchor against seismic force for the seismic design of anchoring frame structure. In this study, an analytical model of a three-stage slope supported by anchoring frame structure is established, and the upper bound method of limit analysis is applied to deduce the seismic anchor force of anchoring frame structure. The pull-out capacity of anchor against seismic force of anchoring frame structure at each stage is obtained by computer programming. The proposed method is proved to be reasonable and effective compared with the existing published solution. Besides, the influence of main parameters on the pull-out capacity of anchor against seismic force is analyzed to provide some recommendations for the seismic design of anchoring frame structure.

  • In this paper, we report on our theoretical study on the effect of surface anchoring. Molecular dynamics as well as optical characteristics of PVA cell are computer-simulated with 3D-FEM numerical solver, TechWiz $LCD^{(R)}$. Although simulation parameters are the same except for the consideration of surface anchoring, the simulation reveals that optical transmittance is improved by more than 8% for the weak anchoring case with comparison to the strong anchoring case. Moreover, capacitance between pixel and common electrode is 7% lower for the strong anchoring than that for the weak anchoring. This implies that there exists an appreciable difference between the strong anchoring case and the weak anchoring case. It is very important to take the effect of surface anchoring into account in order to figure out the optical characteristics of an LCD cell more accurately.

  • Anchoring systems with structural stability and endurance have been one of the most important elements for PSC structures, especially for the structures using non-corrosive FRP tendons. FRP tendons are in increasing use for underground and coastal structures constantly contacted with fresh water or sea water because of their superiority to metallic ones in corrosion-resistance. In this study new non-metallic anchoring system for FRP tendons has been tested and investigated. The newly developed anchoring system utilizes FRP pipes and HEM (Highly Expansive Mortar). The major factors considered in this experiment were expansive pressure of HEM during its hydration and the strength of GFRP(Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) Pipe. Anchoring forces of the new anchoring system were investigated from the pull-out testes. The authors analyzed pull-out procedures of the FRP tendons in the various pipe filled with HEM and suggested an improved idea to develop novel non-metallic anchoring system for FRP tendons

  • For the purpose of surveying any possibility of anchoring titanium dioxide on activated carbons to promote their activities as catalysts and/or adsorbents, two activated carbons were oxidized with ammonium peroxydisulfate and followed by anchoring titanium dioxide. The anchoring of titanium dioxide on the oxidized activated carbons were performed via the adsorption of tetrabutyltitanate, hydrolysis with deionized water, and calcination. The effect of oxidizing and anchoring treatment on the surface element composition, surface area, and pore texture were analyzed by XPS, BET and TPD. The oxidation of activated carbons with ammonium peroxydisulfate introduced carboxyl groups on the surface of activated carbons and these carboxyl groups promoted the anchoring of titanium oxide on the activated carbons. However, the treatments affected the surface area and the porosity of activated carbons.

  • In this thesis, an anchoring energy in the upper and lower substrates of TFT-LCD cell has been modeled and applied in the numerical calculation of the molecular orientation of the TN-LCD. The molecular orientation of liquid crystals defined as tilt and twist angles was simulated using the Newton-Raphson method and the Gaussian integration method. From the results, the tilt and twist angles for the strong anchoring energy were proven to be coincide with those of the conventional results. on the other hand, for the weak anchoring energy, azimuth angles of the molecules were changed abruptly from $0^{\circ}\;to\;90^{\circ}$ near the middle area of the cell due to the balance of the anchoring energy and the elastic energy of the liquid crystals.

  • The two competing underlying mechanisms of anchoring, anchoring-and-adjustment and selective accessibility, have very different managerial implications for the effect of price as an anchor on willingness-to-pay (WTP). To clarify their relative roles in inducing the anchoring effect, path analysis modeling in which two paths are included in a single model was utilized. The first path proceeds directly from anchor price to WTP, representing anchor-and-adjustment. The second path, representing selective accessibility, includes a mediator formed by various explanatory variables of WTP. The results consistently show that only the direct path, anchoring-and-adjustment, is significant. The results also show that the level of available product information has no significant moderation effect on both of the paths, which implies the robustness of the result with respect to information level.

  • Since non-corrosive Fiber Reinforced Polymer(FRP) tendons have been in increasing use for underground and coastal structures constantly contacted with fresh water or sea water because of their superiority to metallic ones in corrosion-resistance, new non-metallic anchoring system for FRP tendons has been developed and investigated to verify the effectiveness of tendon force, which consist of mainly FRP pipes and Highly Expansive Mortar(HEM). The major factors considered in this experiment were expansive pressures of HEM during its hydration, sleeve lengths and types, and anchoring methods of tendon. New anchoring system were investigated from the pull-out tests. The pull-out procedures of the FRP tendons in the various pipe filled with HEM were analyzed and improved ideas were suggested to develop novel non-metallic anchoring system for FRP tendons The pull-out tests for the FRP tendon and new non-metallic anchoring system were conducted. The results show that non-metallic anchoring system for the FRP tendon has been more stablized due to the gradual expansive pressrure of HEM, as tims goes. Since tile lower stiffness of FRP pipes causes the weakness of anchoring force, it requires the increase of stiffness using a carbon fiber or an increased section area.
