  • The tension load of the ground anchor inserted in the ground gradually changes over time. In this regard the change of the initial tension load is primarily decreased by the fixation condition of the fixing head and the mechanical characteristics of the tensile material. The subsequent additional tension load is a time-dependent loss mostly due to the fixing conditions of the bonded length and the surrounding ground properties of the field. In this paper, therefore, a measurement system using a relative displacement detector that can relatively easily measure the change of tension load is discussed. As a result of the review, it was confirmed that the results using the relative displacement detector are similar to those of the real scale model test, and it was also confirmed that similar results were obtained with the result of the pull-out test conducted on the ground anchors fixed to weathered rocks condition. In addition, a pull-out test was conducted on the test anchors whose initial tension load loss was relatively large and through this test pull-out behavior of the tension type ground anchors was verified.

  • This study is about a section where underground water level occurs at the underground 5m depth by the excavation of the ground, as a stream is adjacent to a excavation section of High Speed Railway ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ Station construction sections and a reservoir being always full of water is located at the left side of the construction section. Therefore this test is executed for the design and construction of buoyance anchors able to permanently prevent buoyance by the underground water level at working and for the stable construction and permanent smooth maintenance of structures. In this test, bar type anchors are divided according to their length and standard to execute test-anchor test, and In spot test, 9 test-anchors test, proof test to construction process, suitability test and acceptance test are executed 4 times to 9 test-anchors by dividing anchors according to the length of permanent anchor, the outer diameter of bar and boring diameter. Standard motion characteristic centering on load transmission and break mechanism of bar-type anchors for the prevention of buoyance will be showed in the thesis.

  • Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) has been proposed by Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to compensate for such problems as handover latency and signaling overhead in employing Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6). HMIPv6 supports micro-mobility within a domain and introduces a new entity, namely mobility anchor point (MAP) as a local home agent. However, HMIPv6 causes load concentration at a particular MAP and longer handover latency when inter-domain handover occurs. In order to solve such problems, this paper establishes a virtual domain (VD) of a higher layer MAP and proposes a MAP changing algorithm in which the routing path changes between mobile node (MN) and correspondent node(CN) according to the mobile position and the direction of the MN before inter-domain handover occurs. The proposed algorithm not only enables complete handover binding-update of the on-link care of address (LCoA) only when inter-domain handover occurs, but concentrated load of a particular MAP is distributed as well. This is because the MNs registered with higher layer MAP and lower layer MAP coexist in the VD. We simulate the performance of the proposed algorithm and compare with HMIPv6.

  • The characteristics of the skin shear stress distribution for the fixed length of the ground anchor are extremely nonlinear and the engineering mechanisms are complex relatively. So it is difficult to design the anchors simulating the actual behavior by considering various soil conditions and nonlinear behavior. Due to these limits, constant skin shear stress distributions for the whole fixed length of the ground anchor are usually assumed in the design for the sake of convenience. In this study, to assess the pull-out behavior of the tension-type ground anchors, the in-situ pull-out tests in weathered-soil conditions were carried out. Based on the test results, the skin shear behaviors for the fixed length of tension-type ground anchors were established and the multi-linear slip shear model predicting this behavior and an analytical technique applying this model were proposed. From the similarity between the results of the in-situ pull-out tests and those of the analytical technique, the applicability and availability of the multi-linear slip shear model and the proposed analytical technique were verified. The maximum shear stress was developed at the start point of the fixed length acting with the smaller load than the maximum pull-out load but the minimum shear stress was developed at the start point of the fixed length and the maximum shear stress was developed at the point apart from the start point of the fixed length after the maximum pull-out load.

  • In Korea, the mountainous area occupies more than 70% of the whole country, cutting of earth slope that cuts a part of the ground surface is widely used when building infrastructures such as road, railroad, and industrial complex construction. In recent years, regulations on environmental damage have become more strict, and various methods have been developed and applied. Among them, Concrete-Panel Retaining Wall technique is actively applied. Concrete-Panel Retaining Wall is a method to resist horizontal earth pressure by forming a wall by attaching a precast retaining wall to the front of the support material and increasing the shear strength of the disk through reinforcement of the support material. Soil nailing, earth bolt, and ground anchor are used as support material. Among them, ground anchor is a more aggressive reinforcement type that introduces tensile load in advance to the steel wire, and a large concentrated load acts on the front panel. This concentrated load is a factor that creates cracks in the concrete panel and reduces the durability of the retaining wall itself. In this study, steel pipe sleeves and reinforcements were purchased at the anchorage of the panel to prevent cracks, and by applying bumpy shear keys to the end of the panel, the weakness of the individual behavior of the existing grout anchors was improved. The problem of degraded landscape by exposure to front concrete of retaining wall and protrusion of anchorage was solved by the production of natural stone patterns and the construction of sections that do not protrude the anchorage. In order to verify the effectiveness of anti-crack sleeves and reinforcements used in the null, indoor testing and three-dimensional numerical analysis have been performed, and the use of steel pipe sleeves and reinforcements has demonstrated the overall strength increase and crack suppression effect of panels.

  • Subsets pipelines are exposed to several potential risks of damage due to corrosion, soil instability, anchor impact and other hazards. One of the main risk factors for the safety of a subsea pipeline is its free spanning. This paper examines the safety of subsea pipelines with free span under axial compressive load. The variation of allowable lengths of dynamic free span is examined for generalized boundary conditions. The free span is modelled as a beam with an elastic foundations and the boundary condition is replaced by linear and rotational springs at each end. A dynamic free span curve is obtained with a function of non-dimensional parameters and can be used usefully for the design of subsea pipelines with a free span. A case study is carried out to introduce the application method of the curve.

  • Reinforced concrete beams with insufficient shear reinforcement were strengthened using glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) plates. In the study, the effect of the number of bolts on the load capacity, energy dissipation, and stiffness of reinforced concrete beams were investigated by using anchor bolt of different numbers. Three strengthened with GFRP specimens, one flexural reference specimen designed in accordance to Regulation on Buildings Constructed in Disaster Areas rules, and one shear reinforcement insufficient reference specimen was tested. Anchorage was made on the surfaces of the beams in strengthened specimens using 2, 3 and 4 bolts respectively. All beams were tested under monotonic loads. Results obtained from the tests of strengthened concrete beams were compared with the result of good flexural reference specimen. The beam in which 4 bolts were used in adhering GFRP plates on beam surfaces carried approximately equal loads with the beam named as a flexural reference. The amount of energy dissipated by strengthened DE5 specimen was 96 % of the amount of energy dissipated by DE1 reference specimen. Strengthened DE5 specimen initial stiffness equal to DE1 reference specimen initial stiffness, but strengthened DE5 specimen yield stiffness about 4 % lower than DE1 reference specimen yield stiffness. Also, DE5 specimen exhibited ductile behavior and was fractured due to bending fracture. Upon the increase of the number of anchorages used in a strengthening collapsing manner of test specimens changed and load capacity and ductility thereof increased.

  • OPB(out-of-plane bending)-induced failure of mooring chain was firstly addressed by CALM (catenary anchor leg mooring)-type offloading buoy, located approximately one mile away from the bow of the Girassol FPSO which was installed offshore area of Angola in September 2001. This study deals with verifying the load transfer mechanism between the first free chain link and connected two chain links inside the chain hawse. OPB moment to angle variation relationships are proposed by extensive parametric study where the used design variables are static friction coefficients, proof test loads, nominal tension forces, chain link diameters, chain link grades and chain link types. The stress ranges due to OPB moments are obtained using nonlinear FEAs (finite element analyses). Final stress ranges are derived considering ones from IPT (in-plane tension) forces. Also a formula for OPB fatigue assessment is briefly introduced.

  • In this study the experimental results of fatigue specimen for the Strand Stay Cable Assembly of Extadosed bridges is investigated. The fatigue test and tensile experiment is conducted to 6 kinds of specimens. Test specimen OVM250-31 Strand Cable System manufactured by china OVM B-Machinery Co., Ltd, and OVM250-42 Parallel Strand Stay Cable Assembly manufactured by china OVM B-Machinery Co., Ltd, are passed for fatigue test and rupture tensile test. But Test specimen OVM250-42 Parallel Strand Stay Cable Assembly manufactured by korean A-Machinery Co., Ltd, is not passed for fatigue test conducted according to the "Recommendation for Stay Cable Design. The test result are compared to the fatigue criteria of PHI 2001 for cyclic load, and it is concluded that the current korean design code will be needed for representing the fatigue load in Hot Dip Galvanized Strand Stay Cable. It is verified that the new korean specification and quality criteria of Strand Stay Cable and exact experimental applied process will be needed.
