질산우라늄용액의 구성원소별 원자수밀도 (Atom Number Densities for Uranyl Nitrate Solution)

  • 여러가지 질산우라늄용액에 대한 우라늄의 용존농도, 질산의 노르말농도 및 용액의 밀도등을 측정하여 얻은 결과를 최소자승법으로 분석한 후 우라늄의 용존농도와 질산의 노르말농도만을 알므로서 질산우라늄용액속에 들어있는 물의 함량을 결정할 수 있는 실험식, Q=1-0.3628C-0.0327H$^{+}$,을 유도하였다. 여기서 Q, C 및 H$^{+}$는 각각 물함량(g/cc), 우라늄의 용존농도(g/cc)및 질산의 노르말농도를 뜻한다. 그리고 이 유도식을 써서 임의 우라늄용액에 대한 구성원소별 원자수밀도와 핵임계도를 산출하고 그 결과를 우라늄의 용존농도, 질산의 노르말농도 및 용액의 밀도를 근거로 하여 얻은 값과 비교해 보았다. 그 결과 유도식은 우라늄의 용존농도 0.004~0.2959g/cc 및 질산의 노르말농도 1.00~5.06사이에서 유용하게 쓰일 수 있을 것으로 보였다.

Laccase Induced Maize Bran Arabinoxylan Gels: Structural and Rheological Properties

  • The aim of this research was to study the structural and rheological properties of gels formed by ferulated maize bran arabinoxylans (MBAX) at different concentrations. MBAX was cross-linked by a laccase leading to the formation of dimers and trimers of ferulic acid (di-FA, tri-FA) as covalent cross-link. An increase in MBAX gels elasticity (from 11 to 20 Pa) as well as lower mesh size (from 80 to 48 nm) were obtained by augmenting the MBAX concentration from 2.5 to 3.5%(w/v), respectively, but no increase in di-FA and tri-FA content was obtained (0.03 and 0.014 ${\mu}$g/mg MBAX, respectively).

H2O2/HCl 처리한 Ti 임플란트의 생체활성 평가 (Evaluation of Bioactivity of Titanium Implant Treated with H2O2/HCl Solution)

  • Surface treatment play an important role in nucleating calcium phosphate deposition on surgical Ti implant. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine whether the precipitation of apatite on cp-Ti and Ti alloys are affected by surface modification in HCl and $H_2O_2$ solution. Specimens were then chemically treated with a solution containing 0.1 M HCl and 8.8M $H_2O_2$ at $80^{\circ}C$ for 30 mins, and subsequently heat-treated at $400^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. All specimens were immersed in the HBSS with pH 7.4 at $36.5^{\circ}C$ for 15 days, and the surface was examined with XRD, SEM, EDX ana XPS. Also, pure Ti, Ti-6Al-4V and Ti-6Al-7Nb alloy specimens with and without surface treatment were implanted in the abdominal connective tissue of mice for 4 weeks. All specimens chemically treated with HCl and $H_2O_2$ solution have the ability to form a apatite layer in the HBSS which has inorganic ion composition similar to human blood plasma. The average thickness of the fibrous capsule surrounding the specimens implanted in the connective tissue was $38.57\;{\mu}m,\;62.27\;{\mu}m\;and\;45.64\;{\mu}m$ in the cp-Ti, Ti-6Al-4V ana Ti-6Al-7Nb alloy specimens with the chemical treatment respectively, and $52.20\;{\mu}m,\;75.62\;{\mu}m\;and\;66.56\;{\mu}m$ in the commercial specimens of cp-Ti, Ti-6Al-4V and Ti-6Al-7Nb without any treatment respectively. The results of this evaluation indicate that the chemically treated cp-Ti, Ti-6Al-4V ana Ti-6Al-7Nb alloys have better bioactivity and biocompatibility compared to the other metals tested.

Monitoring the Bacterial Community Dynamics in a Petroleum Refinery Wastewater Membrane Bioreactor Fed with a High Phenolic Load

  • The phenolic compounds are a major contaminant class often found in industrial wastewaters and the biological treatment is an alternative tool commonly employed for their removal. In this sense, monitoring microbial community dynamics is crucial for a successful wastewater treatment. This work aimed to monitor the structure and activity of the bacterial community during the operation of a laboratory-scale continuous submerged membrane bioreactor (SMBR), using PCR and RT-PCR followed by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) and 16S rRNA libraries. Multivariate analyses carried out using DGGE profiles showed significant changes in the total and metabolically active dominant community members during the 4-week treatment period, explained mainly by phenol and ammonium input. Gene libraries were assembled using 16S rDNA and 16S rRNA PCR products from the fourth week of treatment. Sequencing and phylogenetic analyses of clones from the 16S rDNA library revealed a high diversity of taxa for the total bacterial community, with predominance of Thauera genus (ca. 50%). On the other hand, a lower diversity was found for metabolically active bacteria, which were mostly represented by members of Betaproteobacteria (Thauera and Comamonas), suggesting that these groups have a relevant role in the phenol degradation during the final phase of the SMBR operation.

  • There is a symbolic term which has realized custom of an era and has eome into fashion since the middle of 1920's. That is Garconne. This paper studied the image and costume of Garconne expressed in literary works, the form of art made it to come into being, and costume of a group of women played a role of pioneers of Garconne. Garconne attempted simple, casual, and mannish costume instead of usual elegance. It was the boiysh style($\`{a}$, la Garconne) which did not stress on the bust and waist like chanel suits used wool jersey by a designer, Chanel ana short skirts of low waist line. They got short haircut and wore low heel shoes. Garconne meant women who were free of convention, were familiar with love a d profession, and lived for themselves in the same manner of young men. They yieled new mode of 1920's. Though their lives were only a period, they manifested the symbol of the period though their figure and designation was not disappeared at the age but was settled as a mark of fixed image. There were several reasons why the Garconne was born. Rapid changes in politics, economics, and society in Europe were occurred from the First World War to 1920 and the trend of custom and art was a turning point. Especially, the entry of women into the society and the mode of Art Deco influenced it directly. The role of a pioneer of Garconne was appeared from the French Revolution. As Merveilleuse, Lionne, and Bloomers wore peculiar clothings ana had life style being irrelevant to tradition, they were talked about. They informed in advance the appearance of new women who were different from romantic ladies and were more modern and active. The pioneer design of Paul Poiret which were over whelming throughout a period and functional design of Chanel were increasingly accelerated.

필렛효과에 따른 미세혈관 문합커플러(AnaFix®) 마이크로핀의 응력분포 (Stress Distribution in Microvascular Anastomotic Coupler (AnaFix®) Micropins with Respect to the Fillet Radius)

  • 기존 봉합사를 이용한 미세혈관수술의 단점을 개선한 기계식 미세혈관 문합시스템은 크게 문합링-핀 시스템 및 디바이스로 구분된다. 유한요소해석을 이용한 본 연구에서 문합링파트는 생체적합성과 사출성형 가공성이 우수한 High Density Polyethylene(HDPE)가 적용되었고, 마이크로핀은 SUS316, Ti-6Al-4Nb, Ti-6Al-4V, unalloyed titanium 이상 4가지 재료가 적용되었다. 미세혈관 문합링 마이크로핀의 fillet radius, neck length가 von Mises stress 변화에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위해 Short Neck(SN)과 Long Neck(LN)으로 구분하고, 필렛이 존재하지 않는 경우(SN-1, LN-1)와 존재하는 경우(SN-2, SN-3, LN-2, LN-3)로 구분하였다. 필렛 유무와 형상에 대한 von Mises stress의 변화비인 Fillet Radius Rate(FRR)와 동일 필렛형상 내에서 neck 길이변화에 따른 von Mises stress의 변화비인 Neck Length Rate(NLR)의 결과를 종합해본 결과 SN-3의 마이크로핀 neck 형상이 가장 안전한 설계 형상임을 파악할 수 있었다.

  • The effects of temperature ana additive on the streaming electrification of insulating oil have been investigated. The streaming current increases below the temperature of $45{\sim}50[^{\circ}C]$ and decreases above that. The inverse phenomenon of steaming current is exhibited as the concentration of anti-static agent increases.

  • Amyloid$\beta(A{\beta})$ has been reported have an effect on the induction of oxidative stress that involves the functional and structural abnormalities in Alzheimer's disease. As a role of a radical scavenger, a green tea treatment was found have some inhibitory effect on the neurodegenerative process. The aim of this study was to determine if green tea catechin (GTC) reduces in transgenic model. To test this, transgenic mice carrying neuronspecific enolase (NSE) controlled C-terminus (105) of APP (APP-C105) were created and treated them with a low ana high dose of GTC for 6 months. Herein, we conclude that transgenic mice expressing NSE/APP-C105 were successfully created and the GTC-treated group exhibited significant reduction in body weight. Thus, GTC might be a good prevention of obesity or good treatment for AD patient.

CFD를 이용한 히트싱크의 열 해석 (Thermal Analysis of Heat Sink Models using CFD simulation)

  • Thermal analysis of new designed heat-sink models was carried out according to the natural ana the forced convection using computational fluid dynamics(CFD). Heat resistance of wave type, top vented wave type and plate type of heat sink was compared with each other As the direction of fin and air flow are vertical(z-axis), it is shown that radiant heat performance of all of heat sinks was superior than other experimental conditions. Especially, the heat resistance of top vented wave heat sink was $0.17^{\circ}C/W$(forced convection) and $0.48^{\circ}C/W$(natural convection). The radiant heat performance of heat sink was increased with increasing the height of fin and the width of fin pitch.
