To utilize FeCoSiB amorphous films for magnetoelastic sensors, the temperature dependency of magnetization (M-T curve) and the magnetization properties of the amorphous films were investigated in this study. As the amount of cobalt In the films increased, the Curie temperature decreased but the crystallization temperature increased. In addition to this, the crystallization temperature was lower than the Curie temperature in the film containing 20 at% cobalt. The optimized annealing condition was set up by analyzing the H-T curve. And then, the amorphous film that has excellent magnetic properties and uni-axal anisotropy could be prepared for construction of the magnetoelastic sensor devices. The coercive force of the film was below 0.5 Oe and the anisotripic field was about 5 Oe.
In this paper, the possibilities of the laser overlap spot welding were studied to utilize the advantageous properties of amorphous metal foils. In order to estimate the usage of amorphous metals foils as structural members, the tensile shear strength and the fracture features were investigated. Although the crystalline zone on the surface was formed, it was not the direct cause of the fracture of the weld. The fracture of the weld resulted from the geometry discontinuity between the workpiece and the protrusion zone, which was formed during the weld process. The vein pattern - the typical feature of the fracture of the amorphous metal - was formed on the fracture surface. The tensile shear stress was reached to 1200 N/㎟ (2-foils overlap welding) and 900 N/㎟ (10-foils overlap welding), whereas the tensile strength of the workpiece was 1500-2000 N/㎟.
The bonding structure of organic materials such as fluorinated amorphous carbon films was classified into two types due to the chemical shifts. The electrical properties of fluorinated amorphous carbon films also showed very different effect of two types notwithstanding a very little difference. Fluorinated amorphous carbon films with the cross-link breakage structure existed large leakage current resulting from effect of the electron tunneling. Increasing the cation due to the electron-deficient group increased the barrier height of the films with the cross-link amorphous structure, therefore the electric characteristic of the final materials with low dielectric constant was also improved. The lowest dielectric constant is 2.3 at the sample with the cross-link amorphous structure.

Co-based amorphous powder was produced by a new atomization process "Spinning Water Atomization Process (SWAP)", having rapid super-cooling rate. The composition of the alloys was ($(Co_{0.95}Fe_{0.05})_{1-x}Cr_x$)$_{75}Si_{15}B_{10}$ (x=0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075). The powders became the amorphous state even if particle size was up to about $500{\mu}m$. The coercive force of powders was about 0.35 - 0.7 Oe. Furthermore, Co-based amorphous powder cores with glass binders were made by cold-pressing and sintering methods. The initial permeability of the core in the frequency range up to 100 kHz was about 110, and the core loss at 100 kHz for Bm = 0.1 T was $350kW/m^3$.
In this paper, The electrical properties of MOS capacitors and transistoras with gate of in-situ doped amorphous Si and poly Si doped by POCI$_3$. Under constant current F-N stress, MOS capacitors with in-situ doped amorphous Si gate have shown the best resistance to degradation in reliabilty properties such as increase of leakage current, shift of gate voltage (V$_{g}$). shift of flat band voltage (V$_{fb}$) and charge to breakdown(Q$_{bd}$). Also, MOSFETs with in-situ doped amorphous Si gate have shown to have less degradation in transistor properties such as threshold voltage, transconductance and drain current. These improvements observed in MOS devices with in-situ doped amorphous Si gate is attributed to less local thinning spots at the gate/SiO$_2$ interface, caused by the large grain size and the smoothness of the surface at the gate/SiO$_2$ interface.
The aging characteristics of amorphous FeS178TBS113TSiS19T wound cores have been investigated as a function of aging temperature and time. The core losses(1.2T/60Hz) of amorphous wound cores dipped in transformer oil decrease in comparision with initial stage of aging test due to insulation of ribbon stacks by oil penetration. It is estimated that it takes 30 years or more for 10% increase in core losses (1.2T/60Hz) of amorphous wound cores aged at normal transformer running temperature(100$^{\circ}C$). So we condlude that the amorphous core is satisfactorily applicable to transformer.
This study evaluated the effect of amorphous steel fibers on the spalling characteristics of high-strength concrete. with mix proportions of polypropylene (PP) fibers of 0.15% by concrete volume, and proportions of amorphous steel fibers of 0.3% and 0.5% by concrete volume. In the range of 0.3 vol% of amorphous steel fiber, the effect of suppression of the spalling and the prevention of degradation of strength was shown, but it was evaluated to be ineffective in the suppression of the spalling due to interferences in formation of pore network in the range of 0.5 vol.%.
The design of joints in a transformer core significantly affects the transformer's efficiency. Air gaps cause variations in the flux distribution at the joints of the laminations, which depend on the geometry. Two similar samples consisting of electrical steel strips and amorphous ribbons were made. The spatial flux distributions were determined using an array of search coils for each sample. 2D models of these samples were created and examined by finite element analysis. The magnetic flux distribution for each lamination in the samples was computed. The results show that the flux density in amorphous ribbons above and below the air gap starts to approach saturation at lower flux density levels than for electrical steel. The flux density measured using the search coil under the air gap is increased in amorphous ribbons and decreased in the electrical steel with increasing frequency.
Large magneto crystalline anisotropy energy and demagnetization energy of rare earth-transition metal (RF-TM) alloys play roles of bottlenecks towards their commercial applications for giant magnetostrictive and blue wavelength magneto optical recording materials, respectively. To solve the above problems, boron is added into amorphous RE-TM alloys to produce its electron transferring. The boron added amorphous RE-TM alloys show novel magnetic and magneto-optical properties as follows; 1) an amorphous $(Sm_{33}Fe_{76})$97B3 alloy obtains the magnetostriction of$ -550{times}10^{-6}$ at 400 Oe compared with saturation magnetostriction of$ -60{\times}10^{-6}$ in conventional Ni based alloys, 2) an amorphous$ (Nd_{33}Fe_{67})_{95}B_5$ alloy increases effective magnetic anisotropy to$ -0.5{\times}10^{-6} ergs/cm^3 from -3.5{\times}10^6 ergs/cm^3$ without boron, which correspond to the polar Kerr rotation angles of 0.52$^{\circ}$and 0.33$^{\circ}$, respectively. These results attribute to selective 2p-3d electron orbits exchange coupling (SEC).
A 532 nm Nd-YAG laser was applied to crystallize amorphous Si thin films in order to evaluate the applicability of a Nd-YAG laser to low-temperature polycrystalline Si technology. The irradiation of a green laser was controlled during the crystallization of amorphous Si thin films deposited onto glass substrates in a sophisticated process. Raman spectroscopy and UV-Visible spectrophotometry were employed to quantify the degree of crystallization in the Si thin films in terms of its optical transmission and vibrational characteristics. The effectiveness of the Nd-YAG laser is suggested as a feasible alternative that is capable of crystallizing the amorphous Si thin films.
